What do you do when you lose your starting QB, and you have three realistic QB options in Newton, Fidler and Cobb? You use them all, and secretly sneak all those illegal formation and false start penalties into Auburn’s Gatorade.
Kentucky wins at Auburn by the score of 21-14, our first win against Auburn since 1966. How does the Auburn fanbase feel about their coach now?

43 years!!!!!!!!43 years!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go CATS!
October 17th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
HELL YES!
I went from cursing Joker Phillips on my couch for play calling every 3rd and long about 5 yards short (which I’m still ticked about, but I digress) to letting out a cheer loud enough to wake up my entire block.
GO BIG BLUE! YEAH BABY!
October 17th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
I’M REALLY REALLY REALLY HAPPY!
October 17th, 2009 at 10:55 pm

October 17th, 2009 at 10:57 pm
WE WANT A LEADER NOT A LOSER!
October 17th, 2009 at 10:58 pm
Yeah what a win, very excited for the team.
October 17th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
Would we have won this game against Tommy Tubberville? Doesn’t Auburn wish they could have the answer to that one.
GO BIG BLUE!
Defense gets the game ball. Cobb and Lock were spectacular, both QB’s (Newton and Fidler) learned some things.
October 17th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
This is a good football team. This team is injured and using three quarterbacks and still come out with the win. I love Richie Boy and Joker did a great job of calling the plays.
I start Will Fidler next week and keep up this momentum. We should be 7-3 when we go to Georgia.
Randal Cobb is definitely my favorite player ever for UK football!!
The defense did an OUTSTANDING job….the corners were great and so was the line and the linebackers.
Overall great game and I am happy as hell we got some breaks and made the plays when we needed to!! GO CATS!!!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
Their only offensive points came on a false start that wasn’t called on 75. He jumped all night and was called for at least two but not the one on the TD. Great job by the defense all night. UK never got rattled even when they still trailed in the fourth. Great win now lets keep it rolling and rack up a few victories.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
Hey Fidler moved the ball down the field. I think he deserves some PT…And yes I’m from Hendo.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
Did we ever have a penalty?
October 17th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
NO WE HAD NO PENALTIES
October 17th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
Auburn was a fabulous host
October 17th, 2009 at 11:02 pm
WAR DUMB EAGLE!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:02 pm
I heard there was a Live Blog tonight. Did I miss it?
October 17th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
To get it done on the ground (282 yards rushing) vs. Auburn says a ton for the offensive line and running backs (Lock, Cobb).
October 17th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
OOOHHHH C-A-T-S! CATS! CATS! CATS!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
Cobb might be the best all around offensive player at UK in the past 50 years. Defense played lights out tonight holding Auburn to 1 TD. Great all around team win.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
17) Agree they couldn’t even tell us the true story behind it. We just yell WAR EAGLE and go Tigger.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
I’d say go with Fidler for now. I think winning that game late earns him that. With of course many looks for Cobb out of the wildcat. Newton showed he has a cannon arm and once he gets disciplined and gets the hang of all the plays he will be a flat superstar here. But Fidler did what he had to do tonight. Man, what a win, especially looking at the next three games. Now seeing this surprisingly improved QB play, Tennessee and Georgia may not be impossible hurdles after all. ….well, at least not Tennessee. Get Lindley back, let’s string some wins together baby.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
OHHH C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS!!!!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
I told you this was a “winnable” game Matt.
Go Cats!
7-5 at worst, 8-4 possible. Said it before, say it again.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
If Spurrier can play two quarterbacks, then we can play three… Our entire team, both offense and defense, played well tonite. This was a team victory…
October 17th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
What a weekend. BBM last night beating Auburn tonight. PRICELESS!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
#18 — Nobody authorized a live blog, so I’d say there wasn’t one.
Announcement: Night post is coming, probably a little after midnight.

Per UKAthleticsNews
“Kentucky had not had a 100-yard rusher since 2007. Now both Cobb (109 yards) and Locke (107 yards) have eclipsed the 100-yard mark.”
“It’s the first time UK has had two 100-yard rushers since Shane Boyd and Tony Dixon accomplished the feat vs. Indiana on Sept. 18, 2004.”
Awesome
October 17th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Rick Brooks now has an Auburn notch on his belt strap.
How about another Georgia notch, and cap it off with a “Tennis”ee notch for good measure.
Brooks and the Offensive/Defensive line deserve a chance to poop ice cream tonight!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Wonder how Tipton will manage to frame this win, thus sucking the blood and oxygen out of it!…or maybe he just hates basketball/Calipari. HUGE CONGRATS TO THE CATS!!!!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Entire team should be greeted at the airport! This is huge folks!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Auburn is a great school, with great fans. War Eagle is a great story and one of the coolest things in college football. I know we arent used to this but lets win with some class.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
Tipton doesn’t poop ice cream.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
Wow talk about bein a bad fan. But they was lovin him when he was 5-0. But that was a very solid win. They looked very good.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Pretty amazing! We went from playing some of the dumbest football I’ve seen in a long time(Florida & Alabama games) to a zero penalty, low mistake football game where we dominated both sides of the line in the trenches, ran the ball effectively and played assignment defense as well as any UK team ever has.
After watching this game it is my opinion that we could easily win all our remaining games. (Obviously we are also capable of losing focus and losing four of those [VU, UGA, UT, MSU]).
October 17th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Big win for the Cats.. but you know that the Auburn fans are going… ” The Bastard lost to Kentucky WTF”
October 17th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
Great win. The team has to remain focused and build on this momemtum. Solid effort all around. Congratulations to Coach Brooks and the team.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
First win in Auburn in 48 years (1961)!
First win vs. Auburn in 43 years (1966)!
Is it sinking in yet???
October 17th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
37. Exactly, lol. We were due though.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
#37 - benherewaiting - your right, but you know what? Even if Tubberville was still there, and we win this game, the Auburn fans would find someone/something to blame it on.
Either way, we still won the game. Go BLUE!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
Hell Yeah GO BIG BLUE..
October 17th, 2009 at 11:29 pm
Rich Brooks might end up making Barndart look like pooped ice cream.
October 17th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
I’m so hyped. I’m ready for my handicap match with Kige .vs Tipton, Glenn Beck and Pat Forde…I want the UK O-Line to escort us to the ring and then we WILL ROLL ON TO THE VICTORY!!!
GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
This reminds me of the great QB controversy of my time at UK. Glenn Fohr or Chuck Broughton? Ahh yes, those were the days: -3 yards and a cloud of dust. All kidding aside, tonight’s win has to be translated into consistent play in adverse conditions. If that holds true, UT should begin to worry!
