The picture above is the new UK basketball poster for the season (it looks sharp). If you go to Coachcal.com, you will see a blog in which he gives his hints about the Madness activities for Friday. He says:
1. He first didnt want it to be a spectacle but he knows the fans do, so it will be.
2. There will be guest coaches that either have ties to Kentucky or are “nationally known performers who are UK fans.”
3. There will be a dunk contest, but it wont be formal.
4. Cal will give a bit of a speech on his “vision” of the program.
5. They will go at it in a scrimmage.
Enjoy.

October 13th, 2009 at 5:58 pm

October 13th, 2009 at 6:03 pm
Do you think the “Viva Azul!” right in the middle of the poster is a shout out to TBK? Man that frosty tips sure does have a ton of inside pull with the program.
October 13th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
4. I know, I don’t see what the big deal is… Its only basketball
October 13th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
They screwed up with Orton. Look how short he looks. That’s not gonna help the conspiracy theories.
October 13th, 2009 at 6:23 pm
I like what Coach said in the very last sentence…”it will be, officially, ON.”… gave me chills..
October 13th, 2009 at 6:24 pm

Wooo Hooo Season tickets arrived today and Madness is only days away!!!
Can’t wait to see the Judds
October 13th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
I suspect Ashley Judd makes an appearance, via video message or guest coaching. It’s a guarantee that Lebron will be featured in a video message (since Cal said some via video).

Nah, it should a glass full of coal silt, a plug of chaw, a statue of Jesus riding a velociraptor, and a bottle of ranch dressing.
Because there aren’t very many food items that Kentuckians won’t smother with ranch.
October 13th, 2009 at 7:46 pm

The University of Kentucky and the UK Athletic Association have settled their contract dispute with former UK men’s basketball coach Billy Gillispie.
The agreement gives Gillispie $2.98 million. UK also agreed to pay more than $265,000 in legal and mediation fees.
Gillispie was seeking more than $6 million for breach of contract and fraud related to his firing two years into a seven-year agreement. The suit was filed in May. Gillispie was fired in March.
A university statement announcing the settlement said that UK “will have no further comment on the settlement agreement.”

Man these guys are going to be good. I am so fricking excited I can’t believe it. Devan Downey, time to flee to Belize. Kevin Stallings, pack a bag for your second trip to Australia. Roy, get ready to cry. Again. And Ricky, save up your free cash to make sure you can bail out your team before January 2. We want to beat your full team.
