Kragthorpe hanging by a thread?

by @ 5:23 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Word began to circulate this afternoon about an internet report from Louisville Sports Buzz that Steve Kragthorpe had been informed that he was not long for the coaching job with the filthy Cards. Of course, having spent the last little while composing some witty prose to properly make fun of the parties involved, Louisville had to spoil my fun before it even got started, as Louisville Senior Associate Athletic Director Kenny Klein told AOL Fanhouse that the reports are completely untrue.

Regardless, it seems Kragthorpe is nearing the end of his run. The Louisville report named Jon Gruden as the coach on top of most Louisville fans’ wishlists, just ahead of Knute Rockne, Herman Boone, Don Shula and Mister Coach Klein. Really? Jon Gruden? I guess that’s why they call them wishlists.

The Steve Kragthorpe era seems to be approaching its merciful conclusion, but it apparently hasn’t happened yet. So, keep your index fingers at the ready to commence pointing and laughing, whenever the time for pointing and laughing officially comes.

“Keep your index fingers at the ready” - That’s what she said.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. calipeari Says:

He’s doing it the right way, NO WAY do you only give a guy 3 years to turn a program around. Imagine where he could have the Cards in five seasons?

  4. GOBLUE23 Says:

Maybe Pitino will step in and try to get Billy D the job

  5. gossie21 Says:

I wonder if Gruden can get the deposit back on that house he bought?

From a cardinal football forum, lol

    Leach?
Mike Leach has been at TT since 2000. His record: 79-41.
In 9 full seasons Leach has lost 4 or more game 7 seasons. Has NEVER taken TT to a BCS bowl despite leading a program in Texas in a conference like the Big 12. Leach?….Thanks but no Thanks.

The timing of this post could not be better…My husband who loves the dirty birds…has been all over the coaching situation.. he told me not one minute before this post…that Jurich was in Florida closing on a new condo he just bought…and guess who will be in Florida for Monday Night Football this week?? You guessed it, Gruden….I of course said ‘you’re just crazy’ and I laughed….So believe me, the Louisville fans truly believe that Gruden is coming to Louisville….

  8. Ken T. Ucky Says:

Going from a MNF commentator to UofSmell coach would be a major step down.

  9. bhtxcatfan Says:

Gruden will be in Dallas with the Cowboys next year.

  10. PrinceUK21 Says:

Who cares about UL, I only care about UK and tailgating.

I hope they keep him for one more year.

  12. BigCatDaddy4263 Says:

I vote that Stevie Massello get the job so he can stay close to “sweet” Rick

  13. Blueyouaway Says:

Karen Sypher’s son has been promised the job as part of a settlement between Rick/UL & Karen Sypher. The thinking is he could win as many games as Kragthorpe has each year & it would make the Sypher situation disappear….
