According to Justin Young at Rivals.com, ESPN has asked Stacey Poole to wait and announce his college choice on ESPNU Thursday at 5 30. So the wait will continue and our server will live to see another day.

So ESPN gets to dictate when a prospect can announce their decision? I guess they do when he wants the worldwide leader to broadcast it. But seriously, if he’s ready to decide today, then the news will probably leak out.

IF he picks UK, this could actually be good exposure for our program.
September 22nd, 2009 at 9:54 am
sounds like hes coming to UK then, or else ESPNU wouldn’t have him hold out to announce south carolina
September 22nd, 2009 at 9:56 am
#4, are you saying he told ESPNU who he was going to commit to and then they told him to wait until Thursday?
September 22nd, 2009 at 9:59 am
no
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:00 am
LOL - Hell more people watch Polish TV than ESPNU!
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:01 am
im sayin why would he go on ESPNU to announce that he would go to south carolina.. he wouldnt… so he must be coming to UK
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:04 am
nothign person, but why would espn want to show a commit of a 4 star player?
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:05 am
General manager of ESPNU is a SC grad. SC needs more time so they talked ESPNU into trying to delay the announcement. (I just made all that up but it’s the Internet, so who cares!)

9. BECAUSE ITS UK!!!
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:15 am
10- at least you’re up front about making it up, right?
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:23 am
Get use to this, ESPN knows every KY bball fan will be tuned in to ESPNU during a time of day when ratings are usually shot. This will become a common theme with any recruit choosing between UK and anyone else……
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:30 am
I’m guessing whether it’s UK or SC wouldn’t matter to young Mr. Poole. He is at the center of his universe and expects any decision he makes to be big news. If he’s choosing SC, he will expect to elevate them.

September 22nd, 2009 at 10:47 am
why show his college decision on espnu? has anyone watched espnu? its either this or womens volleyball…of course they will want to show a top 50 recruit’s college decision. doesnt mean he is going to uk. means that espnu has something interesting to show.

#13 — How many UK fans, that are also rabid followers of UK b-ball recruiting, subscribe to ESPNU. 100,000?? LOL, so a major cable network caters its programming to a couple hundred thousand — a very narrow demographic??? LOL, don’t have much of a deluded opinion of the UK fan base, do we??
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:54 am
Dustin will get the scoop before Thursday.
September 22nd, 2009 at 10:58 am
#19….Don’t forget that SC has 3 maybe 4 fans that subscribe as well. LOL
September 22nd, 2009 at 11:14 am
I have ESPNU, so I’ll watch this if I’m home.

#18.. the UK vs. UL game was on espnu this weekend
September 22nd, 2009 at 12:53 pm
19, Lots of UK people are smart enough to be getting espnu and their family of channels due to the new SEC contract with the worldwide leader. If people want to see all UK football or basketball games going forward they’ll be jumping onboard. I called to add espnu for my father in law this past Saturday in Bowling Green and the cable person said they were overrun with people adding it so they could watch the UK-filty cards game.
