It is always hard to get information about a visit while the player is still there, and our policy is to not make any contact during such visits, but that doesnt stop news from linking. Throughout today, I have gotten multiple messages from individuals talking about how happy Rotnei Clarke is concerning his visit and Marc Maggard now has an interview with his father (for the record, we dont have the “no link to other UK sites” policy) in which he says that Rotnei is simply blown away by the experience. Clarke is on campus with Leonard Washington, who we spoke with on Friday, and potentially a few others. It is being rumored that Darius Miller may have arrived on campus this weekend (Thur or Fri) for a visit as well. Big week in UK country. Could we leave with not one but two commitments? We shall see. Stay tuned…….

This is simply amazing. Go Cats! I have never read an article that made me so giddy. I am ecstatic. Go Cats!
June 30th, 2007 at 5:28 pm
dammit
June 30th, 2007 at 5:32 pm
Fantastic!!
June 30th, 2007 at 5:33 pm
Legion, Patterson, Liggins, Clarke…..would anyone have believed it 6 months ago???
June 30th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
Could there be anything more automatic than this?
Barring a fake wildcat spy (i.e. Walter
McCarty) on campus recruiting him to UofL, he’s pretty much a
wildcat. Great news!
June 30th, 2007 at 5:42 pm
I dunno guys, don’t we need a big man in the class of ‘08? I’d much rather have Tyler Zeller and Jamychal Green/Darius Miller.
June 30th, 2007 at 5:42 pm
c’mon Washington….no whammies….no whammies Washington….stop!
June 30th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
#6, I still dont believe it. I expected Coach Gillispie to come in and recruit us some good players, but this many this soon, and NONE of them are below a high four-star rating. This is incredible. Everybody is saying Clarke is underrated, and I agree. Sounds to me like he is a Wildcat, perhaps as soon as tomorrow or Monday. Go Cats!
June 30th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
I just spoke with Darius today and he WAS indeed on campus yesterday. The visit went very well but coach Gillispie wasnt even there. Was supposedly with Acie Law @ the draft. UK is said to have THREE schollies available… dunno where they’re comin from?!
June 30th, 2007 at 5:47 pm
No Clarke. We need Miller and Zeller, and Jasper is going to
run the show. I think Portor is better. I’ll take Washington.
Liggins is the pg to.
June 30th, 2007 at 5:50 pm
11. Hmmmm 3 scholarships left? in addition to what Liggins took? And is that including the one for 07?
June 30th, 2007 at 5:52 pm
I was hoping we could get at least four for 08 and one for 07. Five total. Number 11 was this what was told to Darius from the coaching staff?
June 30th, 2007 at 5:54 pm
Clarke is a way better player than Porter
June 30th, 2007 at 5:59 pm
BCG..still gettin’ it done.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:02 pm
Just got back from the Father son camp. Some bits:
* Recruits there are R.Clarke, L.Washington, A.Clark, KC Ross-Miller from the 2010 class. Can’t gauge them but they all got a standing O from the campers/parents.
* Pick up game on Friday: M.Porter’s outside shooting won two of the three games for the blue team. A.Legion is scary good. Both AJStewart and Ramon Harris are very athletic but aren’t good shooters.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
… and Jasper is walking in a boot, Crawford is taking time off for his knee and Carter is walking around in a secure vest-like thing to immobilize his shoulder.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:04 pm
Patterson?
June 30th, 2007 at 6:05 pm
Did the recruits get to play any?
June 30th, 2007 at 6:05 pm
I think I will just sit back and let the coach decide who we need and who we don’t need. I think he is proving himself to be very capable in that arena.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:07 pm
can someone PLEASE copy and paste the catspause website artical about zeller please becouse im not a member and this is a much better site !!!! or anyone just tell me what zeller is saying about his recruitment.. please
June 30th, 2007 at 6:15 pm
Can someone do a copy, like John ask? Zeller is big in the class.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:17 pm
I would love to see a big man in this class, but I think Gillispie will win with any group of 405 star players he recruits.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:31 pm
Liggins can play multiple positions and Clarke may not be the most altheletic but he seems to be a pure
shooter with a ‘never say die’ attitude. I think he can definitely play an important role for the Cats. It will leave it
up to the coaching staff to find the scholarships- they have proven themselves so far. Isn’t it great to have so many wonderful options?
June 30th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
12# No Clarke are you crazy. Don’t forget the 3 point is moved back a foot. We need him as a shooter.IMO
Yes we need a BIG also.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Clarke of one of the top 2 outside shooters in 2008 class. Only Matt Roth of Washington IL is at his level.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
Are we gonna have to get a larger bus and add a wing onto the lodge? This is almost Christmas in July! Go Cats!
June 30th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
I think we are witnessing history at the moment, not only in recruiting, but in the eventual demise of TCP and HOB. The guys over there are running scared from this and other sites while trying to control the news. Sadly for them, it isn’t working. IMO
June 30th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
29.
TCP/HOB has sucked for a long time now and Maggard and the KSRadio crew both outwork and outcharm them/
June 30th, 2007 at 6:57 pm
Clarke will be a fan favorite. It seems like his game is similar to Sparks. He will be a fan favorite and he will be here for 4 years. I love it, sign him up. That starts us off with Clarke and Liggins. We could then add Zeller, Miller, or Warren. If we miss on those three, we still have a decent second tier with guys like Dunigan.
June 30th, 2007 at 6:58 pm
Matt, is for the people. Not the money. HOB sucks. Thank you Matt
Rob, and Marc!
June 30th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Per Clarke’s dad ” He’s not gonna wait if he knows Kentucky’s where he wants to be. He doesnt want to be watching them on tv winning championships while he is playing for another school”.
That was probably one of the greatest things I have ever heard in a recruiting interview. UK is back baby.
June 30th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
I wonder if Rotnei is extending his visit to give his parents time to speak with Gillispie, so he can commit in person before he returns home?
June 30th, 2007 at 8:15 pm
After reading the comment by Clarke’s dad it looks like Rotnie is a Wildcat waiting to happen.
I wasn’t going to check my computer again today but now I am very glad that I did. People don’t concern yourself about Gillispie getting a big man for 08. He knows as much about his needs as the fan do. Good grief.
June 30th, 2007 at 8:17 pm
WOW! WHAT A COMMENT BY CLARKE’S DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 30th, 2007 at 8:19 pm
Check out this lineup this year. Washington, Patterson and all the really good shooters on the team around them.
June 30th, 2007 at 8:20 pm
I will probably have to spent a couple hundred dollars to get all the games but it iwll be money well spent.
June 30th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
Matt, you and Maggard are kicking the arses off those Catspause.com clowns. TCP has really given itself a black-eye by forbidding links to pieces of information provided by you guys. Even their own members are calling them out and openly making fun of them over this (at least until they delete the threads)! It’s obvious that not only are you and Maggard out-working them and making them look badly, but you are doing it for free! And with Catspause folks crying like little brats about this fact only makes them look that much worse. How lame. It’d be so funny if they lost all of their paid membership. Would serve them right. They’d rather complain about people scooping them daily than deal with hundreds of Florida, Indiana, and UL fans coming on there to troll their forums. It’s all about $$$ with them. That will also be the downfall of TCP.
June 30th, 2007 at 8:43 pm
38) Couple hundred? With the demand going up for tickets, so will the price. Be prepared to offer your left nut.
June 30th, 2007 at 9:32 pm
