[Moderated by Matt Jones]

According to Scout.com and our own Rob Gidel, UK received its second football commitment of the year today, Randall Cobb, a multi-dimensional, slashing quarterback from Alcoa, Tennessee. Cobb is considered one of the more athletic players that UK has been looking at this season, but it is unclear whether he is certain to be projected as a college QB or at some other position. This is a big commitment for UK, although had it been Randall “Tex” Cobb, I might have been more excited.

Thanks Matt, and Rob. Is he a good player? Man the football
team is getting better and better. I love UK sports.

Perhaps we should get BCG to do some football recruiting while he scouts out basketball players, bet he could reel in “Tex” Cobb…. On second thought, definitely not! He needs to remained focused on 5* basketballers!

Great news. I think this kid’s going to be an impact player in a year or two. I think he’ll have the tools to play at a number of positions, and if it’s WR then we’ll see what he can do. I think CB might be best, but time will tell.

Looks like Rotnei LOVES us and extended his visit. Awesome.
June 30th, 2007 at 5:19 pm
It’s great that Rotnei’s dad sees how having his son wait would
hinder his chances since BCG is lining up 2008 quickly
June 30th, 2007 at 5:24 pm
It’s hard to be a football fan when the games either aren’t on television, or are
tape delayed at 1 in the A.M. I hope they do well, but bball is KING!

I am a fan of all things Kentucky, however, it is hard to switch from basketball mode with all the excitement Billy G is bringing. I’ll convert to football in September….

Thanks for the info…
