Is there a person who is more uncomfortable in his job at this point than Jonathan “Straight Outta” Crompton? He was beyond horrendous last year, but had an entire summer to get better and find a new groove with his new coach staff. And what did he do? He got worse. The display of talent that he showed during the UCLA game made even Saul Smith feel sorry for him. And the UT natives are restless. Dont believe me? Try this ad on a Knoxville Craigslist site:
I have a quarter back to give away for free. His name is Jonathan Crompton and you can have him. Feel free to take him before we have another losing season. I am asking a dollar for him , just because craigslist won’t accept 0
Kentucky has had its share of players that have taken abuse. And while things for Roderick Rhodes, Michael Porter and Shane Boyd werent always the best, we never put any of them up for sale. Before you go to bed tonight, say a prayer for Jonathan Crompton.

I cannot wait to play Eww-Tee in Commonwealth!

If we bribed Michael Porter to stop playing, would that be considered a sale?

Pretty sad really..

Anyone else think that Lane Kiffin is kicking himself right now for all the trash talk he engaged in this summer towards Florida?!? Meyer and the Virgin are going to DESTROY Tennessee this weekend and they won’t stop until the referees make them.

He looked downright awful from what I saw. Have they changed up the system that much this off-season?

every fanbase has crazies…this is pretty tame, and a little funny.
Not so funny: the death threats he received last season from grown men. It’s a game, and he’s a kid. Get over it.

#8-Crompton has played in 4 different ’systems’ at UT. I feel awful for JC. I certainly don’t have the hatred that many in the fan base have for him. He’s not a great QB, but he wanted to come to UT and has done well for himself in the classroom.

9) Those people who take college athletics and sports in general WAY too seriously freak me the hell out. Need to have more going on in their lives.
On the topic of Crompton and UT though, college analysts and football analysts in general kill me. They’ll take a game from Week 1 and totally blow it up. Listening to college gameday and hearing how UCLA had no chance in Rocky Top because Tennessee was so much improved and blah blah was laughable. I had UCLA in that game from the start. Show me something when it counts like Michigan did, and two weeks or so in to the season. Just because a team can pound on a jobber in Week 1 doesn’t mean they can hang with any recognizable name in the game.

macon, isn’t Crompton like a practice-God? wasn’t that the rumor and then Peyton came to town and confirmed it. Sucks that he has trouble converting that to the big games.

#12-I hear the same thing. Heard that all last year as well. He’s just not a gamer. It’s not like UT’s defense is bad. If he can make throws against Berry and the rest he should be able to do it in a game. I guess it’s just a mental thing….
#11-I thought UT would win, but I certainly didn’t think the 10 pt spread was realistic. UCLA is going to be an okay (8/9 win) team this year. Still, like last year, that game should have been a big orange W. Alas.

This is the year the losing streak stops against UT. I see UK beating UT, USC, and UGA. I dont think we will get destroyed by Florida, but I really dont see us winning it…but never know, that game could be this years LSU of 2007. Alabama will be tough as well, but benefits of being a home game. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think we lose only 3 or 4 games. But I guess we will know for sure what kinda team we have when the Cards come to town.

#14–UK has lost to worse UT teams (1988, 2005, 2008) than this one. I guess we’ll see. That’s why the games are played….

Was this posted in the Casual Encounters section?

Yes, let’s make fun of Crompton. Oh wait! Wasn’t he the QB for last year’s Vol team that beat us for the 234th straight time?
September 13th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
That being said, I’ll take the ‘Cats in Lexington!
September 13th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
I remember a Craigslist listing for Hartline last year, so don’t be too quick to judge…however, Crompton is awful and I can’t wait to kick their ass!!

15, I’m not saying UK is gonna win cuz the UT team is not that great, I’m saying it’s coming to an end because I believe UK is the better team and it’s a home game…as long as Seiber makes fgs.
