Hell No Midget
May 31st, 2007 at 2:40 pm
I guess ther’s one thing Billy didn’t learn from Rick P.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:41 pm
This would be sweeeet if it is true! The only thing better would be coach K to the NBDL!:)
May 31st, 2007 at 2:41 pm
Oh snap
May 31st, 2007 at 2:45 pm
three words
F jai lucas
May 31st, 2007 at 2:45 pm
I think Billy Donovan is more likely to succeed in the NBA than Pitino.
Jai should have just committed in the 9th Grade. It would have been just as effective as his prolonged recruiting. He and his Pops must feel a bit foolish now.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:46 pm
If I do leave, maybe you guys will have a shot aginst florida this
year. It’s getting old beating your ass every year anyway. Good luck
with your drunk driving coach.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:46 pm
Damn! I need a life!
May 31st, 2007 at 2:46 pm
Billy D. was thinkin’ “pros” the whole time, just can’t believe he would do it to a young ball player like jai
May 31st, 2007 at 2:47 pm
I’ll believe it when I see it!
May 31st, 2007 at 2:47 pm
Damn! I Really do need a life! I get so excited over stupid ass things. Maybe I need a friend!

When Brian Hill got fired, I bet Billy’s eyes lite up like a kid at X-mas!Glad we didn’t get the sellot!
May 31st, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Hi Kentucky. I think by not geting on are 08 class of players,Billy d
is going to the nba. I do hope he will stay at FL.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:49 pm
So is John Lucas going to try to Coach for FLA if Billy D leaves? Anyone?
May 31st, 2007 at 2:49 pm
I do think Donovan will do much better in the NBA than Pitino.
The Magic situation really is a great one for him and as much as I dislike him I think he will do a good job there.
The magic are a much better situation than the Celtics were. They are already a playoff team and are only a player or two away from really contending in the East plus Orlando is only an hour from Gainesville so his family can stay put.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:49 pm
#12 Billy u didnt even have a winning record against Tubby
May 31st, 2007 at 2:50 pm
Come on down to Lexington Jai!
May 31st, 2007 at 2:51 pm
#13, your a UK fan, what more is there?
May 31st, 2007 at 2:51 pm
John Lucas WILL NOT BE A COLLEGE COACH. He knows nothing about recruiting or being resposible for players and all the NCAA rules that go along with that. if he breaks back into coaching look for him in the NBA.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:51 pm
He’s not gone yet. The article said the Magic expected him to accept… could be spin….
May 31st, 2007 at 2:52 pm
13 isnt me.
I have a lot if time on my hands at work. Your just jealous.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:53 pm
16 isnt me either
May 31st, 2007 at 2:53 pm
#12 smells a lot like Dr. Boob.
Hey Jai….How’s it feel?
May 31st, 2007 at 2:53 pm
Lucas we told you so!!!!
May 31st, 2007 at 2:56 pm
Jai waited and waited waited and waited waited and waited waited and waited waited and waited waited and waited waited and waited waited and waited waited and waited waited and waited
For this?????
May 31st, 2007 at 2:58 pm
Maybe I’m wierd but I hope he stays.I don’t want any coach leaving in the midst of a 6 game winning streak.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:59 pm
I think the MAgic are one of the best spots to go as a coach because of all the young talent they have…if Dwight Howard ever developes any sort of post moves he’ll be the best big man in the league because of his athleticism and defense.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Id BD is ever going to go to the NBA, this is the perfect job. Doesn’t have to move his family. A quick drive down the Fla. Turnpike to work.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:00 pm
The Magic don’t have a #1 draft choice for this year though.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:00 pm
1570 reporting it’s done? Or just that the offer is made and expected to be taken?
Poor Jai and all the Florida fans who’ve been swearing up and down Billy would never leave.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:00 pm
The perfect job is KENTUCKY
May 31st, 2007 at 3:01 pm
Kentucky job is taken.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:01 pm
I have posted here many times that it was not if but when he would leave. I am so happy he didn’t come to UK.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:02 pm
It was only a matter of time!
JL…I guess he’ll be looking for an out now huh?
Bad for the SEC I think though…he made the league better.
Who will be the replacement?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:02 pm
Didn’t he just schedule an announcement for next week about staying at Florida? I have to be skeptical about him going to the Magic.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:03 pm
If he does go, how many of that heralded class transfer?
And who ends up at Florida? A temp head coach from their staff? VCU’s stud? Someone else?
Perhaps one of the recently unemployed NBA coaches?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:04 pm
Being as I wish he would go to the Magic…he probably won’t….lol(burnt on BD)
May 31st, 2007 at 3:06 pm
Sources say an automobile has been spotted traveling from Gainsville to Orlando. Could this be Billy Donovan?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:07 pm
45 Now that makes me laugh.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:07 pm
#41, Pelphrey will have Arkansas a contender in a couple of years. They will take UF’s spot.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:07 pm
2 of the class will transfer, i know
May 31st, 2007 at 3:08 pm
47) And Pearl’s gonna keep being a nuisance, probably.
Don’t overlook Ole Miss, either. He’s starting to make progress down there.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:08 pm
The real question here would be: Who do the GATORS go after if Billy D. does leave? That would put them in a real bind, even w/it being a pretty lucrative job offer. Would it be to late to pull a big-name coach from somewhere else? Then the domino effect may take place we/the coaches!
May 31st, 2007 at 3:09 pm
Who gives a crap what Billy D. does? I wander what Jai Lucas is thinking right about now?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:09 pm
42) Tell it to Texas A&M’s crowd.
We don’t know that there hasn’t been an unofficial, “Wait til I hear from the NBA teams” agreement holding up the contract with UF. No other reason for it to have taken this long.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:09 pm
WLEX says “done deal”…sorry couldn’t resist….I work there I
can poke fun right???????
May 31st, 2007 at 3:10 pm
Any other sources on Billy D to Orlando????
May 31st, 2007 at 3:11 pm
I was just kidding. I know your not jealous over someone that gets a woody over posting I am #1.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:11 pm
Steve Lavin is still looking for a gig.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:12 pm
He may not have a draft pick but I heard whispers that Kobe ain’t happy in La La land!
May 31st, 2007 at 3:12 pm
55 isnt me
your a jackass
May 31st, 2007 at 3:13 pm
If he does fly to the NBA it will leave UF in a horrible position. They will be hard pressed to find a quality coach at this late stage.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:13 pm
Tubby can take the job, and am not playing.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:14 pm
Kobe isnt going anywhere.
7 years 136 million. Cant opt out for two more seasons. Had a cry fest with Phil Jackson last night and changes his tune.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:14 pm
IF he goes, they’ll get a great coach to replace him, and Florida will stay in contention for a long time… not to mention the class they have coming in this year…. When it was rumored that BD was coming to Ky, coaches were lining up to take the Florida spot. That’s IF he goes… which I still don’t think he will.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:14 pm
Does anyone have Nick Calathes’ telephone number for a text message?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:15 pm
Question for those who know more about these things:
If Billy D leaves, doesn’t that mean that his recruits can get out of their LOIs (Calathes, Lucas, etc.)?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:15 pm
55 How long did it take you to count the e’s and l’s to get the name right?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:15 pm
62) Maybe. All it would take is one big mistake hiring and that program could go into freefall
May 31st, 2007 at 3:17 pm
#64 I think it is up to the schools.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:17 pm
If he goes, and I too think he won’t, maybe they’ll get Katz. That kills two birds with one stone. Who doesn’t like that.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:17 pm
Damn it. Thanks, Bill. A little notice would’ve been nice. Now I am stuck in Fayetteville. Talk about unforgettable.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:18 pm
If he leaves, there is no doubt that Anthony Grant will be the next coach at Florida.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:19 pm
Hey Detroit Basketball, you guys suck. Tell stick boy prince to check
me one on one and I will put my nuts on his chin.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:19 pm
64) As discussed infinitely here and elsewhere months ago:
Every player could ask out of their LOI. A coaching change is a very legitimate reason to ask. However, the school does not have to let them out of it. They could say, “You committed to UF, not Donovan” (HA!). Most likely scenario is that they ask the players to wait to meet the new coach, then if they still want out, they can leave. However, even if the school says no, they can transfer out, losing a year of eligibility, I believe.
Keep in mind, it is now past the late signing period, so anyone who does leave UF cannot sign a LOI, but they can sign scholarship papers like Legion with another school.
Things to keep in mind about incoming UF freshmen:
Calathes said once he’d follow Billy D elsewhere - doesn’t bode well for UF.
Jai probably regrets going there when Patrick has now gone to UK, and with Billy D gone. Any promises of playing time would leave with Billy.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:20 pm
I gotta go now. Mom needs the computer.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:20 pm
See, I told you idiots! Jai will end up at Okie St.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:20 pm
71) Tell it to his championship ring.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:21 pm
74) Maryland have any spots left?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:21 pm
Dr Bob…paging Dr Bob…please return the scalpel, Dr Bob.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:22 pm
Check out keepbillydonavan.com they have a few article that confirm billy’s departure on the right- hand side
May 31st, 2007 at 3:22 pm
jai to kentucky
May 31st, 2007 at 3:23 pm
Until we hear otherwise, we should assume every breaking news story and article is going off of the Orlando Sentinel article, which only says Billy is expected to take the offer.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:23 pm
ESPN and the national media think Florida is an elite job and program now..it will be interesting to see who they will hire if Donovan leaves..if it is such a great job like Vitale is saying, we’ll see if coaches line up for this one.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:23 pm
look you cab fan tell dum lebron he is no good
May 31st, 2007 at 3:23 pm
The only Detroit Basketball is me and I only make comments about relevant topics. I dont insult people except for the jackass comment. Lebron has been playing great the past couple of games but Tay and Jason Maxiell were abusing him the first two games. i really didnt expect the Cavs to put up such a fight. Daniel Gibson has really impressed me. I think he will be Lebron’s Scottie Pippen in a few years. Once The CAVS ditch Gooden and Big Z and get a better frontline I think they could be a dominant team.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:24 pm
#57 - Orlando has no one to offer the lakers for Kobe. Howard is off limits and I doubt Buss/Krivisky will pull the trigger for Jameer Nelson, Reddick, and Milicic.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:26 pm
70) He would be a good choice.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:27 pm
The story is officially national:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18965269/
May 31st, 2007 at 3:27 pm
Has CBC known for a while that Donovan is going to bolt. Has he secretly left that last scholarship open for Jai? Is this the reason why Thorns wasn’t offered and we bailed on Callasan (even with the agent issue)? Very interesting.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:28 pm
The would also have to match his salary even if they came up with enough players to satsify the Lakers. The trade value of the players your trading dont have to be exactly the same but they have to come close. Kobe makes almost 20 mill per year so they would have to come close to matching that with the players they want to trade away.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:28 pm
glad we got Billy G. instead.
http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070531/BREAKI NGNEWS/70531068
May 31st, 2007 at 3:31 pm
69 - The Passion of the FANS in ARKANSAS are MUCH GREATER than those in GAINESVILLE! Pelphrey has a GREAT JOB!!! Say adios to FLORIDA!!! FOOTBALL TOWN!!! Thank you MITCH BARNHART form bringing COACH G in!
May 31st, 2007 at 3:31 pm
any takers on donovan coaching at the U or FSU in about 5 years? if in fact he is following the pitino ways to screw up
a perfect situation guide
May 31st, 2007 at 3:32 pm
84) You forget - if Donovan is going, he gets to be the triggerman.
87) Doubtful, and it may be Jai stays at Florida. I wouldn’t turn Jai away, though. Especially with Jennings off the board next year and Warren trying to reshape himself as a shooting guard/slashing forward.
89) If he’d come here, he’d not have gone on to the NBA immediately.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:32 pm
Get off the Damn computer. Now!
May 31st, 2007 at 3:33 pm
91) Or Miami. Or maybe another SEC school like a Georgia or Vandy (if Stallings moves at some point).
May 31st, 2007 at 3:34 pm
How good is Patterson feeling about his decision now..hope he makes decisions on the court like he does for decisions on his life..I expect that he will….Thank God we have Billy Clyde!
May 31st, 2007 at 3:34 pm
95) A whole lot better, I’ll bet.
Also, I bet Jai is frantically texting Pat as soon as he hears.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:36 pm
94) The U and Miami are the same thing. It’s a nickname like ohio state saying THE ohio state .
May 31st, 2007 at 3:38 pm
#92…I agree that he would not have gone immediately, but the fact that UK now has stability at tje top, makes me glad that we have him..I REALLY wanted Donovan, but the way it’s played out, I am extremely satisfied..hindsight is 20/20.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:41 pm
Although some say the FL job is elite I tend to disagree. I think BD was a very good college coach who took a group of dedicated, talented players to 2 campionships. This does not make the program elite. Future players were coming to FL for BD. Without BD they probably return to mediocrity for awhile. Elite Programs: UK, Duke, UNC, Kansas, ULCA.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:42 pm
hi jon
May 31st, 2007 at 3:44 pm
Bring back Lon Kruger!
May 31st, 2007 at 3:44 pm
99) They’ll take a step back if he leaves, but there’s no reason to think Grant can’t get them back to a top 10 program. I thought Arkansas made a mistake hiring Pelphrey if they could have had Grant, and I love Pelphrey.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:44 pm
espn just posted breaking news, but they say they just offered him the job. I hope he is gone. congrats to Jai for his first experience of a coach leaving him.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:44 pm
Rob, what the hell are you doing. It sounds like you’re moving furniture or juggling or crossing the street while you’re talking. FOCUS!
May 31st, 2007 at 3:44 pm
Stay away Jai Lucas, the only UF transfer I want is Calethes.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:45 pm
Of course I am just an idiot. Andy Katz may see it differently and he is a smart basketball man.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:46 pm
Done deal
May 31st, 2007 at 3:47 pm
i wonder if ESPN will let me work NBA now so i can follow Billy on his beautiful journey to the next level
college basketball just isn’t worth covering without him….
May 31st, 2007 at 3:47 pm
102 - FL is a football school. Without a gifted coach they cannot sustain a top 10 BBall program. Look at the top teams. How many of them can’t sell out a home game?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:48 pm
I guess there is at least a glimmer of hope for Gator fans. It’s not official yet.
Having said that, he’s going to take the job if logic bares out.
The one possible silver lining, if he surprises everyone is that he would most like coach at Florida until he retires from coaching.
If he turns down the Magic job, he most likely never take any NBA coaching job.
Even with another or even a few more titles, his stock is never really going to be higher than is currently is. (???)
He has made it quite clear he doesn’t want to move his family from central Florida. (no better NBA fit that the Magic)
He has made it clear he does wants to coach in the NBA.
I can’t see he not taking the Magic job, but if he doesn’t there will never be a more logical NBA job for him.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:48 pm
Thank you son!
May 31st, 2007 at 3:49 pm
110 - yep, yep. Right time, right place, right money.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:50 pm
He could always take over the Heat whenever Riley retires again…not as great a fit as the Magic, but the
next best thing, could give him another year or two in college
May 31st, 2007 at 3:52 pm
Like Rabbits this thread is
May 31st, 2007 at 3:54 pm
113 - that’s true but when is he going to be worth more than now?
May 31st, 2007 at 3:55 pm
105) Calathes is a FLA boy, he will stay no matter what
May 31st, 2007 at 3:55 pm
First off Billy would be retarded not to take the Magic job. 6 million a year for 6 years i mean geez. Not only that he no longer has to worry about recruiting or nething of that sort, and hey how about the new college rule that if ur players dont graduate then ur school will lose scholarships and was it me or did UF just lose 4 players before graduation? Also anyone that is saying Jai come to kentucky you are about as dumb as shagari alleyne. I mean really who the hell wants a kid that just wrote our school off anyways. Everyone talks about wanting a player with Kentucky pride and bleeds blue well I can gurantee you that Jai is not that way or he would have never chose UF.
May 31st, 2007 at 3:58 pm
and Jai can stay too…
May 31st, 2007 at 3:58 pm
This is just too damn funny….for everyone who thought Tubby left too late for UK to do much, how do you think Florida is going to feel?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:01 pm
TAKE IT BILLY I BET HE TAKES IT
May 31st, 2007 at 4:02 pm
Look for Billy D’s new book. “Winning is a Choice 2″.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:02 pm
#119 - the difference, though, is that Billy left his cupboard full of top 10 recruiting class
May 31st, 2007 at 4:03 pm
Billy D. will be ran out of the NBA in 5 years and replace Pitino at UL. Sounds crazy but it will happen.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:04 pm
Jai looks real smart now. lol
May 31st, 2007 at 4:06 pm
123) Honestly given the situation, I don’t think Billy D will do as bad in the pros as Ricky P. (but hey…I’m no PRO)
May 31st, 2007 at 4:09 pm
Jai has to play another waiting game!!!!!!!!!!!1
May 31st, 2007 at 4:17 pm
C’mon fellas…what is Jai 17-18…he’s a good kid…just not a cat (lament for him, don’t pick)
May 31st, 2007 at 4:20 pm
Who do you guys think Florida will Hire now?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:23 pm
How would you like to be one of the top point guards and trudge through a 2 year recruiting process including offers from all the top schools and then finally get down to a choice at the end of the signing period only to have the coach leave two weeks after you signed with him?
And just after the coach done everything he could to make you feel at ease he wasn’t interested in any of the many jobs he name was connected to.
Ouch!
May 31st, 2007 at 4:25 pm
Thats a bad beat, no doubt.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:25 pm
Do you think Pelphrey has an out clause in Arkansas.
Boy would they be in an odd spot after the coaches they missed out on just a couple months ago.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:26 pm
#64 It’s just like what happened to Alex Legion. He had to ask the university out of his LOI. They can either grant it or deny it. Luck for us they granted it and we landed one of the great players of the 2007 class. If released you do not have to sit out a season.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:29 pm
Can coaches not just quit at any time? Tubby quit.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:29 pm
I am now strictly an Orlando Magic fan.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:31 pm
Or it could follow the Lakers/Coach K mold: Billy’s about to go, then a heartbroken fan leaves a touching voice mail and Billy just can’t turn his back on FL. ESPN eats it up, plays the message over and over again and the media lovefest makes the rest of us puke until we can beat them next season.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:31 pm
I am a janitor at a catholic school here in Orlando, and I just heard at work that Billy Donovan called the school just a few minutes ago…more info to come.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:35 pm
133) Yeah, but they may suffer according to their contract…buyouts. etc.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:35 pm
I want Jai…. Question is will FL let him out of his LOI and allow him to go to another SEC School.
JJ
May 31st, 2007 at 4:35 pm
131) OMG– if Arkasas lost another coach this year– man I’d hate to be that poor AD! I don’t think Pel would leave for Florida. But, wouldn’t that be funny? They’d have 2 of UK’s leftovers….
I’d hate to be a Gator fan right now (well, just in general, but that’s beside the point)– it really does suck to know that your coach is soooo wanted by every entity. Every year, you’d go through the same thing if he stayed. Although, eventually it would turn into a Coach K type of situation– you’d just know he was sticking around. But damn!! I’m SO THANKFUL we ended up with BCG. Everything always happens for a reason.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:36 pm
I read on ukuncensored that there’s a 5 EST presser. Anyone else heard that?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:36 pm
So, I hadn’t heard– what’s the deal with Calasan? Did he decide to go to Purdue or reject us? What’s up?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:37 pm
I have a buzz right now…I’m high on excitement
May 31st, 2007 at 4:38 pm
Is Rob trying to talk Billy D into not taking the job?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:39 pm
I think they may try to bring Lon Kruger back.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:40 pm
I can smell Jai’s flop sweat from here.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:41 pm
I hope Jai stays where the hell he is.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:41 pm
#144, staying ahead of the curb.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:43 pm
Coaches require loi’s so other coaches won’t recruit over them. Joe B. and Denny have discussed several times.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:43 pm
Billy will go to the NBA. He has to go now or never get his chance. Besides, you generally cannot turn down generational wealth.
He will go there, and rue the day he turned down the UK job……..

Now where is the real Dr. Bob? lol I want his OPINION!..lol
May 31st, 2007 at 4:44 pm
Grant from VCU would probably be FL’s 1st choice if BD left. Tyus Thomas and Jai Lucas could possibly be on the market soon!….I’d take both.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:44 pm
You guys who can’t get the stream aren’t missing anything. They’ve got a bunch of monkeys flippin switches over there.

May 31st, 2007 at 4:45 pm
The job wasn’t offered two months ago…
May 31st, 2007 at 4:45 pm
Let’s offer Calathes and tell him he’ll be our starting point guard automatically.

150) DR BOOB WAS BANNED FROM KSR!! Thank God– I really can’t even stand to see his name. He really got under my skin for some reason. Maybe we should go find him on a FL blog & give him hell!!!
May 31st, 2007 at 4:46 pm
Did everyone lose the connection to the stream? I cant even chat under the sports mob heading anymore?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:47 pm
We got the better Billy regardless of whether BD goes to NBA.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:48 pm
157) He was on one of them lastnite or this morning..but never know by the name but the comment sounded like him….he likes the idiot word…look towards the end of the Thorns blog if you want to see it…(who does really). I do want his opinion now!
May 31st, 2007 at 4:48 pm
I think Pitino to Flordia would be fun. That would at least get him out of the state.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:49 pm
I can’t chat under the thread either, but I’ve still got the radio show.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:50 pm
Look how attractive the Florida job is:
1. Lost top 6 players from last year
2. It’s a football school no matter what
3. Previous coach just won 2 national titles
4. If Donovan couldn’t get new facilities, no other coach can
5. Your incoming freshmen have been quoted saying they would go wherever Donovan went (if he went to UK) The morale won’t be too good
6. UK, UT, and Vandy are on the rise (and Georgia as well)

HI V-in-K! You have one hell of a memory! I DID just get home from the GYM!! (think you mis-typed… lol) You must have been on vacation or something– missed you on here this past weekend.
So, Calasan is def. not coming to UK? Who’s the 7′er?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:53 pm
the orlando cbs affiliate wftv is reporting that billy d. has “verbally” accepted the 36 million deal with the magic and the team will announce at a press conference tomorrow.

carpet bagger or good business man? maybe a bit of both.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:54 pm
163) I’m not sure about FL’s facilities, but didn’t UK tour there to get ideas for the Craft center? (It was probably their football facility….)
May 31st, 2007 at 4:54 pm
Matt, why didn’t Jai Lucas wait to announce a decision AFTER Patterson announced? He didn’t have to announce when he did, he could’ve waited.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:56 pm
168) I’m thinking PP wanted to go last, b/c he knew that Jai would follow him. Sounds like PP didn’t care to play with Jai, the way that Jai wanted to play with PP. Wonder if Jai had announced UK if PP would have gone to FL?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:58 pm
Why didn’t he announce but not sign the LOI?
May 31st, 2007 at 4:58 pm
HA! This is hilarious– it addresses UK fans. Getting what they give?? Perhaps its payback time to the gaytor kids….

May 31st, 2007 at 5:00 pm
One good thing for UF is that they may be able to lure an NBA coach that has NCAA ambitions now that the NBA season is over. Kentucky never had that luxury because the playoff races were just heating up…Which turned out great in the end because Gillispie is a demi-god.
UF coaching list?
Kruger
Grant
Any NBA coach that gets fired.

May 31st, 2007 at 5:07 pm
Can’t blame him huh?
May 31st, 2007 at 5:07 pm
Exactly Matt. Pitino’s extension was stupid. They paid him for what he did at UK.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:08 pm
Better wait on a definate YES. He could put signing off on this contract like he has with UF.
He has never said he was staying at Florida thru all of this, only that he loved Florida. The Magic just happens to be based in Florida.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:09 pm
I’m sure of this about Lucas. The way he got treated in this move by BD should carry absolutely no weight on whether we continue to recruit him or not if or when he is granted a release. Sympathy should never become a factor. I hope we pass on Lucas mostly because of his size and partly because he chose UF.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:09 pm
#179, Im not sure what that was all about. I guess I am stuttering in my head.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:10 pm
Jai Lucas needs to ask Darius Rice what happens next….
May 31st, 2007 at 5:10 pm

I want to hear from SAMARDO SAMUELS AND TONY WOODS!!! How does Donovan to the Magic impact Tony Woods?
May 31st, 2007 at 5:12 pm
Matt Jones, people are freaking out right now!!
May 31st, 2007 at 5:12 pm
I think it impacts all of the recruits that were considering UF.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:13 pm
There is one kicker. Just a few weeks ago, Donovan said late on one afternoon via the media that he hadn’t been contacted by Kentucky but he would be would seriously be interested if they would contact him. They contacted him that night. It seemed that before the sun came up the next morning, he publicly said he wasn’t interested.
Deja vu maybe?
May 31st, 2007 at 5:13 pm
Anybody know what Donovan’s record was against UK while at Florida? I know there are some that want to end the streak against a Donovan led Florida, but i’m just guessing we won the war against him during his tenure, despite losing the last few battles.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:14 pm
#195, mabey!
May 31st, 2007 at 5:14 pm
6 mill a year he will take it.Plus he stays in Florida.See ya later BD.

May 31st, 2007 at 5:29 pm
Seems to me that we’re not done with Jai Lucus. After DB makes it official, Matt needs to get Jai on the show. We’ve been after this kid for years … why stop now.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:30 pm
217- Just the two of you huh? Sorry I missed out. Bet that was some
good typing! lol
May 31st, 2007 at 5:31 pm

May 31st, 2007 at 5:32 pm
ASK CLARKE IF HE IS GOING TO ATTEND THE UK ELITE CAMP PLEASE.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:33 pm
We need Kevin Nealon on the show to do his subliminal man, and say “Come to UK” between every sentence.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:34 pm
220- because he’s 5′9 and already turned us down once. KY doesn’t need to beg anymore. Forget him. We’re in with MUCH better players for the next two classes.

here is the Jacksonville News article saying Billy D is gone.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:36 pm
221) Nope– it was more like an orgi… NOT! Seriously, it was a Saturday night about 3AM & there were about 5 of us chatting. It was quite entertaining– I love all this UK b-ball talk!! It was back when Legion was visiting & a bunch of guys were making fun of his mom eating the whole time they were here. It was hilarious!!

233) Right but package deals seem to be rare…Mayo and Walker, Patterson and Lucas, etc.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:39 pm

May 31st, 2007 at 5:42 pm
Speaking of Two Keys and going out I sure could use a Tolly-Ho burger right now!
Go Big BLue!
May 31st, 2007 at 5:42 pm
I don’t like the sour-grapes attitude a lot of our fans have toward Jai Lucas. We really don’t know if Jai made a mistake by going to Florida yet. I would have liked to see him at UK but that didn’t happen. We DO have a lot of guards and that is my guess as to why he didn’t come here. If Billy leaves, Lucas will stay or go to Oklahoma St. If Donovan leaves, then we lose our revenge over his teams. I say keep everything the way it is now.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:46 pm
241) I agree…we dont give crap at Crawford, Legion, Ford,Sparks, Anderson, etc who committed elsewhere before us…give Lucas
a break. He may have rooted for this so he could leave now and come to UK to play with Patterson. Lucas went to Florida because
Florida won the tie thinking Patterson was going there. No Patterson, No Billy D, Lucas will want out…now does he is a different
thing. Big difference between getting out and if Lucas was to decide today who would he go too…
May 31st, 2007 at 5:48 pm
Check out the Bill Simmons article on ESPN about the Pistons Cavs series. He is supposed to list 20 reasons to watch game 5 and he actually leaves half of them blank. Does this guy deserve a paycheck for this? The rest of them are all about Lebron except for one that is incredibally mean about Billups. I dont know what ESPN will do if Lebron does not make it to the finals. They probably wont even mention the Finals without Lebron. Hell they barely even mentioned the Spurs last night because they were so busy drooling over Kobe.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:49 pm
Matt do you think the only reason Magic want him is because it will put people in the seats because he is a big name…and
people in the seats equals money. Bring this up if you can.
May 31st, 2007 at 5:50 pm
FYI, I’ve been offered a magic job today too. I’ll be performing card tricks at the Greyhound Tavern on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Children’s Night at Red Lobster. Come check it out!
May 31st, 2007 at 5:50 pm
Vitale still saying donovan has not made a decision and thinks he will return to UF
May 31st, 2007 at 5:50 pm
Vitale on ESPN now praying Donovan stays. . . again
May 31st, 2007 at 5:51 pm
Rob, quit drinking those Ruphy Coladas
May 31st, 2007 at 5:53 pm
Is Vitale ever right about anything. I saw a story once where he mentioned 241 people that were not currently in the game that he was covering. I used to like him for his enthusaism but I believe he considers himself to be a lot more important than he actually is. I’ll take Rafftery any day of the week or even Kellog does better game analysis.

#250 I agree completely. It might take awhile for the rest of the nation to catch up but eventually everyone t will see that UK is still the best job in college basketball. GO BIG BLUE!!
May 31st, 2007 at 5:57 pm
249) Its possible– I lived at 2 Keys– especially in the summers! That place was soooo much fun. Heard that Mac sold it, the new owners are trying to bring in the old crowd. During tourney time, I would always skip classes & hold a table for my crew– usually got there right when it opened so we could get a good table! Then, we’d sit there from 11 AM until after the games, then would head back down Euclid!! I was always the drunk girl there– NOW DO YOU REMEMBER ME??? lol
May 31st, 2007 at 5:57 pm
241) I don’t like the fact Jai cant touch the rim when he jumps off an 8 fooy ladder. Make no mistake about it, He was AA becuase his daddy and being one of the last two unsigned players. He was being recruited by Tubby because of John and Tubbys relationship. He was being recruited by UK because we thought he was the key to PPat. We got our man, and didn’t have to take the 3′11 point guard to go with him.
In 6 years, PPatt will be making his money in the NBA, and Jai will make his money dancing with an organ grinder whos monkey has gotten too tall for the job.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:00 pm
#25 I am pretty sure that if you were drunk at two keys at any time between ‘93 and ‘96 I hit on you. Nice talking to you again! GO BIG BLUE!

May 31st, 2007 at 6:11 pm
will Marc, or Matt can you see if Calathes, can come to kentucky,
Calathes said if Billy d is out he will go to Duke or KENTUCKY!
May 31st, 2007 at 6:12 pm
Questions:
-Does John Lucas get hired as an assistant at Florida? Maybe Dir. of Basketball Ops to keep Jai?
(He probably would not want to work under Grant.)
-Why doesn’t Florida look at Shyatt for the HC position?
-With a Grant hire does that mean another ex-Wildcat, Allen Edwards, qill be coaching in the SEC against
our Cats?

BILLY to MAGIC
May 31st, 2007 at 6:15 pm
Everyone is worried about Jai Lucas getting out of his LOI. I’m sure he will. However, I bet his family could afford to pay his way through undergrad AND graduate school - it seems he could go where ever he wishes if he went to college on the “Lucas” grant.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:15 pm
Dicky V was on the phone on ESPN a second ago and said that he thinks Billy will stay at UF. As soon as he hung up, ESPN said “This just in, an NBA official has reported that Donovan will take the Magic job.” What a dumbass Dicky V is.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:16 pm
Andy Katz and Dick Vitale are curled up in the corner.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:16 pm
Saw Calathes on campus today and he said he is as good as gone if Billy D leaves. Only way he stays is if Noah comes back so they can room together.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:17 pm
If BD does indeed leave, Clyde could come to UF. Better program, more $$. BG is a whore, afterall.

When you read this from ESPN, they are giving scenarios on why Donovan would turn the Magic job down…….man, they are so far in bed with Donovan that they put a negative spin on it……..wow….a decision will come quick….this couldn’t have been a sudden offer…there was a reason he has yet to sign his contract extension…..he accepts tomorrow.

Will UF go after Pearl?
May 31st, 2007 at 6:26 pm
Whos gonna go to Florida? They lost it all. Sure they have a good class but even they might leave. Florida is nothing but Billy D. They have no fans no support. What coach wants to follow to NCs? When a team like Tennessee has better players now
May 31st, 2007 at 6:27 pm
I’ll take the job.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:28 pm
Oh, I agree totally. UT is a much better job than UF now. Just seems like he’s the type of coach UF would go after. UF fans actually like him.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:28 pm
what happens with Jai Lucas
May 31st, 2007 at 6:30 pm
I know everyone is happy to see this, especially because of Jai, but man I wanted to kick gator butt BEFORE he left!! Now, that will always be slammed in our faces — “you couldn’t beat the gators as long as Donovan was there!”

May 31st, 2007 at 6:37 pm
Ok, now that I’ve read all of those posts (in only 35 minutes)… I’m wondering if BillyD didn’t get word of the Magic job while he was “listening” to all the UK banter and decided he should stay put so that he wouldn’t look so wishy-washy going from UF to UK to Orlando over the summer-
As for Jai- ya gotta feel for the little guy. I’ll be he NEVER saw this coming- that said, I think Calathes needs a call from BCG

May 31st, 2007 at 6:40 pm
So Matt, what does this mean for Jai…I think we’ve got a shot at pulling him afterall? Don’t you? I mean after what Slick Willy just pulled on him, I would think he’s pissed and will want to get out of his LOI, maybe we can swoop in, especially since PP committed…
COME ON JAI..JOIN THE REAL CLASS OF THE SEC!!!
May 31st, 2007 at 6:40 pm
Give him a couple of years in the nba, then see if he takes
over coaching at south carolina, a la steve spurrier. Anyone
wanna bet?
May 31st, 2007 at 6:43 pm
Hey MATT
You do have to be MORMON to attend BYU. I don’t know if they make an exception for athletes. I read a book called Under the Banner of Heaven by John Krakauer. Very interesting read. And it mentions BYU. But if you mention that book on air, you will have to apologize to the Mormons.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:44 pm
This just in, Anthony Grant turns down UF for a better job, staying at VCU. Florida, in the SEC and all, is a cut below Virginia Commonwealth
May 31st, 2007 at 6:46 pm
At least Tay and Nazr will get to beat him on a regular basis. The Pistons swept Orlando this year.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:46 pm
Calathes could carry my jock if he wanted, and if I wore one I guess.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:47 pm
I’ll bet BCG has already sent several texts over the past couple hours. He’s probably been aware of this for a couple of days– the coaches were all at the SEC spring meetings. Surely he knew what was going on.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:48 pm
Matt, Fans will only hold it against Lucas when he gets posted up and scored on.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:48 pm
I think Calathes will stay at FL. He’s from there & said he grew up loving them. I doubt he’ll leave. The others, well, that’s a different story….
May 31st, 2007 at 6:52 pm
If UK wasn’t good enough for Jai in the first place, I don’t really care to have him here. I’ll support BCG if he decides to bring Lucas onboard. I agree with 296) Lucas would get lots of hell here if he doesn’t perform well– UK fans can be a bit unforgiving at times. But, BCG has definitely shown he can do wonders with point guards (Williams of the Jazz) and we are in need of a true pg still.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:52 pm
UT has a better roster, a better gym, and in one month, once all vacancies have been filled, a MUCH better coach than UF. Everything else (football school, second fiddle, etc.) are the same at both schools.
Screw Katz. “Donovan says this is a very tough decission.” That’s why it took him 23 minutes for him to accept. Must of been real tough, skipping to NBA (his dream) With a monster in Howard, close to home, 6 million a year, or stay at florida and go back to the yearly NCAA exits before the second round. It would’ve been back to Creighton and Manhattan whooping his ass every year.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:52 pm
Florida could hold him to his LOI and he would lose a year of eligibility
May 31st, 2007 at 6:52 pm
300!
May 31st, 2007 at 6:53 pm
I just shit myself!
May 31st, 2007 at 6:56 pm
MAN IT GOOD TO BE A KENTUCKY FAN BABY!!!!!!!!
May 31st, 2007 at 6:59 pm
Jai Lucas will go to OKLAHOMA because he knows that he made a mistake by not going to KY now. I read on another internet site that the Lucas family got something in writing about opting out of their LOI if Donovan left. Don’t know true that is, but I did read that.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:59 pm
HAHAHAHAHa
May 31st, 2007 at 6:59 pm
302. I just shit you too!
May 31st, 2007 at 7:02 pm
great news!!! time for Billy G to scoop on some Florida players.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:03 pm
I want Calathes and Parsons–they can keep Midget Lucas.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:04 pm
Billy the Kid off to the NBA, will his fortunes be different then his predecessors? Time will tell, I think he may make it work!
I do kind of feel sorry for Jai Lucas however, just a little bit! I guess he should have stayed w/his original 4 schools and not added Florida, then he’d be somewhere the coach wasn’t leaving. To take the time to choose a school the way he and his family did, then this happens!
May 31st, 2007 at 7:09 pm
286 - That’s right!! These last 2-3 years have me SO upset that I forgot we did consecutively kick their butt!! But one more time would have been nice
May 31st, 2007 at 7:13 pm
BIlly D said he would put writing in Patterson’s LOI that if he left, Patterson could leave without penalty. Maybe they did the same with Lucas.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:14 pm
You gotta take lucas and calathes.Gator fans are having a Kobe Bryant meltdown on the message board!!!lol
May 31st, 2007 at 7:15 pm
When BD falls back into college in 4 years, we can resume kicking his butt.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:15 pm
273….Bruce would be CRAZY to leave Knoxville.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:15 pm
Why is this a big story here for Kentucky fans? Billy Donovan is nothing to me and neither is Jai Lucas. I wanted Donovan to stay so we could beat his ass.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:16 pm
no more dum jai lucas talk. Patterson is the man. WE said jai
came 100000 times. so he with uf, oh and billy d. Boy he needs daddy
May 31st, 2007 at 7:16 pm
whats the link so I can laugh on the florida boards?
May 31st, 2007 at 7:16 pm
Why is this good is my question.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Whats the love for Parson? I know we need a big guy but he is only 6′8 and 180 pounds…Jasper is a guard and weights more then
210…so he is a lanky dude…we got lanky big guys already…
May 31st, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Seeing Billy D turn down UK: dissapointing…
Seeing Patterson choosing UK over Billy D: Awesome!
Seeing Billy D ditching Florida at the last second and watching their fan base have a meltdown…: Pretty darn funny!
May 31st, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Billy D is filthy. We fell for his lure and were saved by the goodness of Coach Clyde. I’m glad we didn’t get him. We got the man instead. I’m just glad we don’t have to listen to Billy D’s lies anymore! FL can hire Dwayne Schintzus to be their coach now.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:23 pm
Those that followed logic saw the writing on the wall weeks ago when the talk of the Magic might fire Hill and Donovan’s contract extention was dragging on very slowly.
But my hats off to Marc Maggard for having the kahunies to stick his neck out here several days ago about Donovan leaving Florida.

i do say College Basketball lost today. Bigger the SEC.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:29 pm
bring on jai, tony woods, darius miller and other recruits that donovan was recruiting
May 31st, 2007 at 7:30 pm
324) Not near as bad as they lost last week when the 3-point line was moved.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:38 pm
323…..Maggard was all over this………I am realizing that Marc Maggard is 90% accurate at least………Great call.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:38 pm
I know this is like beating a racehorse after it’s already passed the finish line first, but Marc Maggard and this site were a full week ahead of any other wedsite or media outlet (as best I can tell) in first reporting anything of substance on this topic.
Marc’s story last week may not have been an outright call, but it was an all out put the rep on the line suggestion. It was the first report that went beyond theory.
Great work from what is becoming was on the best college sports sites anywhere.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:40 pm
The dam LSU coach, is the den of the SEC now wow!
May 31st, 2007 at 7:41 pm
327) You make 90% accurate sound like a position of consolation.
I wish I was accurate 90% of the time about anything.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:43 pm
330….What?!?!?! Quite the opposite dude…..if you are a recruiting analyst and you are accurate 90% of the time, that is awesome!!! How you found this as a consolation is beyond me.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:45 pm
Get inside the head of a Florida Gator fan:
http://wildcatcorner.com/latest/the-florida-fan-thought-process-2.html
May 31st, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Chuck) I apparently misunderstood your comment. The “at least” part of the comment sounds like you expected more.
Sorry!
May 31st, 2007 at 7:47 pm
333. No problem….I am so freakin’ pumped about today’s news I probably butchered my post…..no apology needed….
May 31st, 2007 at 7:50 pm
I’m kinda let down that Billy D left to be honest. I wanted him to stick around because I thought the FL UK rivalry was great. I wanted him to stay so we could get back at him for the last few years, and now we can’t do that.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:50 pm
you act like lucas was the gem of the recruiting class…hardly id rather have the other 3 than lucas
May 31st, 2007 at 7:56 pm
Biiy d just signed with Magic awsome
May 31st, 2007 at 7:56 pm
IM meen its awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO more Gators
May 31st, 2007 at 7:59 pm
I’m so serious!
May 31st, 2007 at 7:59 pm
How many of you think Jai will ask to be let out of his LOI? How many of you think he will stay? Personally, I see him asking to get out of it. Not sure if he goes to UK, but I think he asks to get out of it.

Sexton, that news, is not new. I’ve been saying it for a month (talking out of my ass) Marc has been saying it for a week (talking out of his knowledge) The whole free world has been saying it for the last 6 hours (talking out of fact) and Vitale and Katz are just now saying it (talking out of denial)
May 31st, 2007 at 8:15 pm
I really like the Gator Fan who brought up Dickie V as a replacement…it’ll only cost ‘em a dollar!
May 31st, 2007 at 8:25 pm
LOL…. Ive been waiting for this all freakin week…. LOL. The question becomes…. do we give the gators as much $hit as they gave us or go the high road. LOL Does this mean we may get Jai now? LOl this is freakin hilarious!
May 31st, 2007 at 8:33 pm
Given how much crap a lot of them gave us when Donovan turned us down…I say we give those fans hell.
Also, we can now use the excuse, “Billy D turned us down because he was planning on going to the NBA.”
Fact is, the fanbase got a bit too big for its britches, riding on the glory of the back-to-back championships. Now they’ll see what it takes to sustain a real program.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:38 pm
I agree with Ryan I would rather have him in Florida to show the last two years was a fluke.
Either way it will show that Florida is not the premier program it was made out to be by all the analysts.
This is how you define a premier program. Is the coach bigger or is the program bigger?
Indiana:still trying to find itself after Knight left, he was the program.
UCLA: just now starting to get out from under Wooden’s shadow but they still mention him or show him every game.
Duke:will not be the same once Mike K. leaves.
Florida: nothing before Donovan and will be nothing after hes gone.
UNC: I thought they were the same with Dean Smith but Williams has kept it going.
Kentucky is bigger than the coach, the coach is not the program that is why Florida will never be Kentucky.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:41 pm
Matt, Do you guys know if any of his recruits will ask out of there LOI?
May 31st, 2007 at 8:45 pm
350) Calathes probably asks out, looks at Duke and UK (i predict duke: calathes is a lil prepy white prick. They love Duke) and Lucas asks out for sure. Tyus and Parsons probably stay put.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:46 pm
#348, well said.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:47 pm
I wonder if ESPN may want to change their top ten lists of programs of the future?
May 31st, 2007 at 8:49 pm
jon…… “lil prepy white prick…. They love Duke” — Priceless comment bud. Truly LOL.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:50 pm
the big star on Orlando next year? Keith Bogans!!!
May 31st, 2007 at 8:50 pm
Florida’s 15 minutes just ran out.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:50 pm
I got news for you Gobigblue73, it wasn’t a fluke.
That team could compete with any of the best college basketball teams ever.
Now if you mean they probably never win another championship, I’d buy into that as a strong posibility.
But “fluke?” I’d mark it up as a bad choice of words.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:53 pm
#357 I dont think you understood what I meant. I meant that Florida dominating UK was a fluke in the history of the rivalry or an exception to the rule if thats a better choice of words. I was just trying to say that Florida put together a great team with a couple years of domination over Kentucky does not mean in any way that they are now the better program
May 31st, 2007 at 9:02 pm
2007 Florida would loose to the 96 Cats, 149 - 11. 07 gators is one of the top 5 teams in SEC history, Non - Kentucky division.
Could they compete with Nolans Arkansas team? Probably. Could they have competed with Stanley roberts and Shaq at LSU? More than Likely. Could they have competed with us? They wouldn’t of even been allowed in the gym. 07 gators vs. 96 cats is like ‘03 NBA Western All stars vs. Lexington’s ‘02 all City Notable mention team.
354) It’s funny because it’s true. Melchioni. Paulus. Shavlik Randolph. McRoberts. Hurley. The assitant coach with the unspellable name ( I believe it’s wejnbvjbdfvhuvbfhb fhbebhdnjgbehvgshd, but i’m not sure on that.)I’m suprised Doug Gottlieb never played for Krysahbdchdfvbjhwvbdfbscckhkbw at Duke. Maybe there paths will cross at a Prison yard were Coach K is giving a Seminar, and Gottlieb is serving out his sentance.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:03 pm
Calathes is going to Duke or Kentucky. Good job Jon.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:04 pm
Just goes to show you. The old Billy was too chicken-crap to stay and face the new Billy!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:06 pm
I laughed the maniacal laugh of redemption. He didn’t turn down UK. He was always pro bound. I love it!!!!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:08 pm
Reports are saying that Calathes has been contacted by Coach K and was willing to commit until Coach K started sobbing like a baby on the other line and hung up.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:09 pm
None of the UF recruits will leave. Not going to happen.
I will say all the jackasses at Gatorbait, Orange & Blue Hue DESERVE ALL THE GRIEF we can give them. They were absolutely insufferable during our coaching search.
Guess what? Back at you boys!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:14 pm
Matt, this has to be the happiest day in the world for you. If Jai gets out of his LOI, You can start ANOTHER Jai Lucas watch! Just when you thought KSR was gonna jump the shark, BAM! MORE Jai Lucas!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:17 pm
#365 seriously funny, must be some sort of conspiracy with Matt Billy D. to keep interest up in the site before we all have to start paying. I do not want to bash Lucas for choosing Florida but I do agree we need to hit the florida fans hard who made fun of us when donovan said no to us. If Lucas does opt out of his LOI he will need to average a triple double in points, assists, and steals for me to be satisfied with all the drama surrounding his recruitment
May 31st, 2007 at 9:18 pm
363) If coach K contacted Calathes he broke NCAA rules. A school can not contact a player signed to a letter of intent without the player first being released by the school originally signed with.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:20 pm
#367 talking about #363 proves that it is very hard to type sarcasm
May 31st, 2007 at 9:21 pm
367) Yes, I’m sure none of those recruits have heard from any coaches….since none of them cheat!!! Yeah– riiight. I’m guessing BCG has already sent word out via nothing traceable that UK is looking for a good point guard to that FL class….
May 31st, 2007 at 9:22 pm
368) Did my sarcasm show through????
May 31st, 2007 at 9:23 pm
I can always read sarcasm, especially yours bcgobsession. GO BIG BLUE!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:24 pm
What? Me?? Do I make a lot of sarcastic remarks on here? lol
GO BIG BLUE!!!!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:27 pm
I was thinking… if we took all the people that go to a florida home game and got them together with all the people that go to an Orlando Magic home game, would there be enough people to fill up half of Rupp Arena? Maybe they should start by trying to fill Alumni Gym first and work their way up.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:28 pm
I forgot… GO BIG BLUE!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:28 pm
All I have to say is karma is sweet! They rubbed their shit in our faces for quite a while, now they can have a taste of their own medicine. Hell, I’ll bet that more UK fans know Billy D is headed to the pros than gators all together. I’m sure they’re worried about the football program. SUCH IDIOTS! In your faces beyotches!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:29 pm
I doubt they’d fill up a cruise ship!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:30 pm
Marc Maggard’s Site is buzzing right now about the Florida recruits, Samuels, and a new 2007 recruit (a PG from South America). Things are moving fast. I bet Billy G is texting his butt off right now.

I pointed out earlier there 5 total hits on the orlando magic chat room on 4 different topics concerning donovan, i dont know what the florida sites look like, there is a few links on here to florida chat rooms, im going to take a look at them when im done watching the pistons.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:34 pm
Interesting comments by Andy Katz on Donovan’s acceptance of the job– its in the video clips on ESPN. He says that “family members said that Billy D has struggled for a week trying to decide if he wanted to jump to the pros & that this was really tough decision….” Wasn’t it just 2 days ago that Billy D said he has not been in contact with the Magic? Somebody’s lying & for once, I don’t think it was that putz katz.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:39 pm
ESPN just now reporting it as fact….

383- Vitale has a chemical imbalance which causes violent diarrhea of the mouth.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:43 pm
Nobody understands this business. He accomplished everything he wanted and he feels he wants to try to do it on the next level and the Orlando job is a great oppurtunity while still not moving to far. I hate to say it but it will happen to us too, after Billy G. wins a few championships for us I am sure the NBA will come calling and Im sure he will go eventually. I hate to be thinking like that, since this is the happiest ive been about UK in ten years but it is down the road. For now we love billy g.! GO BIG BLUE!
May 31st, 2007 at 9:47 pm
Why is Vitale so far up BS’s ass????? His commentary all spring has been just shameful…..it is like Vitale has some financial stake or something with UF….I know he lives down there…….but it is so obvious that the connection is very personal.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:47 pm
385, yea Vitale has got that diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the head. Very common at ESPN.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:48 pm
I meant BD’s ass…….sorry.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:48 pm
thousands of florida fans simultaneously pulled out their spring football practice stuff, thought about Urban Meyer and said at the same time “Billy who?”
May 31st, 2007 at 9:49 pm
Ok..ok…I got one…Florida fans bashed us for “running” Tubby out of town…now, since Tubby is so great, he gets hired at Florida, wins a national championship with Billy D.’s players, and then starts the program in a gradual decline, only recruiting players that he can “manage”, Florida fires him in ten years, but no one really hears about it because Florida is a football school, and everyone gets called a racist, and life goes on…..
May 31st, 2007 at 9:50 pm
#391 I think ive seen that movie
May 31st, 2007 at 9:54 pm
# 345 jon ! We have all been saying it . Just wasnt finall till then.People can think what they want about it but if it isn’t on paper it may not be true! ty
May 31st, 2007 at 9:57 pm
391…I think we will see that with Tubby 2, I mean Anthony Grant.
May 31st, 2007 at 10:01 pm
can we get Marc on here?
May 31st, 2007 at 10:02 pm
Heard that Calathes & another recruit (but not Lucus) would stay if Grant was brought in as the coach.
May 31st, 2007 at 10:02 pm
I think Tubby is going to Florida.
May 31st, 2007 at 10:03 pm
Matt’s put up a new Billy D thread.
May 31st, 2007 at 10:04 pm
I suppose its a darn good thing the gator fans have football to fall back on
It doesn’t look like basketball will be going anywhere!! If they prefer basketball, then I guess they’ll have to look to the KY Wildcats for all the excitement!!
May 31st, 2007 at 10:05 pm
With our 400 comments, that’s a large portion of the number of Gator fans that understand significance of BD leaving. I think they care…just not enough to worry.
May 31st, 2007 at 10:06 pm
Let ESPN and the press start with the Billy Bashing again. This time Billy D.
Let us not forget how they berated Billy G coming to UK and how UK fans ran the Tub off.
Saw this posted elsewhere and I totally agree:
“When BG left Texas A&M all of the sports analysts, especially those for ESPN, were bashing him for leaving. They were bashing UK & Billy about how unfair it is to the kids who sign a contract and can’t get out of it if the coach decides to leave.
“How about Donovan telling a recruit who waits until the final days to decide, “I’m not going anywhere.” If these “analysts” are really out for the kids, then I want to hear them speak out about this.”
Just today in the local paper Billy D. was quoted that he had not spoken to the Magic.
Come on ESPN, Katz, Vitale lets hear you drag the Florida Fans thru the dirt and the coach for being run off to the NBA or leaving kids like Lucas hanging. We (UK fans) are waiting!
May 31st, 2007 at 11:24 pm
I hear you trueblue. SOOOOO… sick of Vitale and the ESPN (aka. Duke Booster club) talking sh!t about KY fans. Where is the balance? Billy D was looking out for number 1. Not UF, not the program. I was at the national championship game and many UF fans told me they didn’t care how many basketball championships they won. They would trade them all for 1 Football Championship. In one regard, I take the KY hate from the media as a complement. They hate our tradition for excellence. A poster earlier said it best. No coach is bigger than the program. GO BLUE!
