A game that often gets forgotten, probably because this team was not very good and this opponent was also not very good. But, it still was a very exciting game, and as you can see, one the Cats were lucky to survive.
Also as you watch this video, keep this in mind. In the 10 NCAA Tournaments of this decade, there have been 8 games that needed multiple overtimes, and UK has participated in 2 of them (this game and the 2007 Michigan St. game). They are the only team to have played in more than one multiple overtime game this decade.

I posted on Friday about an 11 year old that died from leukemia on Wednesday and that they are having a Sale at Rosie’s Boutique 7/26/09 to benefit the burial costs. Coach Cal has been generous enough to donate 2 autographed copies of his new book when it comes out Sept 1. I have let the family know this, and they are figuring out ways to auction the signed books off. Coach Cal has the article on Cody up on his web site under Cal’s blog. If you are interested in the auction, please email me at halpert830@yahoo.com
thanks for listening, and the family appreciates your prayers

Yes, we did win…….and this game began an almost-annual routine for us, where we’d run into a team of virtual nobodies that would put together the game of their lives against us, all through the ’00s.
From here, it was the Crispin brothers, Western w/D Felton, UAB with Mo Finley & the Taylor twins (reverse granny-length-of-the-court-pass for a dunk, WHAT?), Central Florida, frickin’ Gardner-Webb (the most amazing game I’ve ever witnessed, which I’d appreciate more did I not bleed blue), UAB again w/Mike Davis (slapping his forehead in victory leaving the court), San Diego, VMI for christ’s sake, Georgia, in Rupp, on Jared Carter Day………
The fact that our program sank so low as to have to hire a used-car salesman to regain some positive press makes me sick (and I’ll hold off on saying “we’re back” until we’ve actually won something), but all this nonsense of no-body teams lighting us up made me sick, too. Looking back, this St. Bonny game was definitely where it all started.
(Unless you wanna say it started the previous year with Pitt in Puerto Rico. Whatever

Prince was a sophomore, Bogans a freshman. The only 2 players to come off the bench that game were Blevins and Stone, because Old Dirty Desmond had gotten into trouble, the Bradley/Hogan/Anthony poo poo platter that Pitino left us for a final “recruiting class” had been run off, and Tackett/Masiello were our only other subs.
oh, wait, you were kidding?

One of several examples of ‘too close for comfort’ NCAA games v. inferior opponents during the OTS regime. See also Holy Cross, Iowa, UAB(err that WAS a loss), USC(uh, that was too).

We did’nt play Michigan State in 2007. It was 2005 I believe.

Early sign OTS was dragging UK down.
