Here is another example of a play I had forgotten even happened, so thanks to those who suggested I find it. Good times back then.

The slow audio scares me….

Anyone remember what year this was?
July 20th, 2009 at 3:01 pm
Can’t tell who that is on my grainy Commadore 64, but I like how the player away from the play jumps as if he was the one dunking. Believe that must be Epps but could wrong.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
2) 1995-96 season
3) Anthony Epps is the player
July 20th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
I may be very wrong here, but wasn’t that the 94-95 year? I know we won the 96 championship in the Denim Jerseys, those don’t appear to be Home version of those. Did we wear the Denim jerseys the entire season?
July 20th, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Great stuff B. The videos have been awesome. Not a whole lot that someone can complain about when watching the Video Vault posts, huh? Must be a welcomed addition to not have to defend your posts all the time. As for me, I appreciate all that you do even if Matt doesn’t.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:08 pm
hehehe, god those were the days man
bring em back, cal
July 20th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
5) The denims were not worn the entire year. You can also tell its the 1995-96 season because Derek Anderson was sitting out his transfer year in 1994-95
July 20th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
It had to be 95-96. Anderson was a junior transfer and McCarty was a senior…if it was 94-95 then Anderson would have been on the bench sittin out a year. The denim jerseys was just an away thing, not home. I’m hopin we see some stuff like that this year.

Does anyone know Patterson’s Twitter Address
July 20th, 2009 at 3:16 pm
This was back when we could beat Georgia!
I sure do miss those days! Thanks, Billy!

Did we play Georgia tech often back then?
I ask because I went to a Georgia Tech game
back when my older brother was in school. Wondering if
this was it? I do remember the crowd being crazy.
I was like 13 years old.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
#11–Since when were Georgia’s colors gold? That was Georgia Tech.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
12. Thanks
July 20th, 2009 at 3:32 pm
Wall to Patterson should produce a few moments like these.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
Could that play be replayed this season??? Wall to Cousins!!!
July 20th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
#16
Didn’t notice you beat me to that post. Wall to Cousins!! Wall to Patterson!! Wall to Orton!! Bledsoe to Cousins!! Bledsoe to Patterson!! Bledsoe to Orton!! Could be any of the above.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
8) Yeah that makes sense, I couldn’t remember if we wore those the entire year. I vaguely remember us not wearing those the entire season. Did we break out the Denim for SEC play?
9) There was a “home” version to the away denim…http://www.bigbluehistory.net/bb/Graphics/SI/19960408_large.jpg
Can’t wait to be on the cover of SI again…Headline…”Closing in on the Bruins: Cats win 8th banner”

Crow–What is the matter, you didn’t like GJ to Pilgrim? Think about that one for a second. The BCG era seems like an eternity ago. Don’t fret though. His new book and the lawsuit will be a constant reminder of our past and just how low we were. And to think I was a BCG supporter up until after he was gone.
I am loyalist and as long as he was coach, I was going to support him although inside I was thinking, “There has to be a better option.” I wanted Cal and then Crean two years ago. Can you imagine where we would be if either happened?
July 20th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
Good God… that was awesome!
July 20th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
Good job, BTI. That was awesome!

#20 – Pilgrim was a beast. A fire breathing carnivore. A large toothy undulating cord of steel muscle and bristling grit. He stood 10 feet tall and whipped injuns by the bushel basket. He wore croc skinned sandals and picked his teeth with whalebone. Jim Brown was envious of his masculine virility and little children slept soundly in his presence. I trust your thoughtless sarcastic slander will incur many a sleepless night as you agonizing over his inevitable vengeance.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
I think we brought out for the first time the “CONS BLUE” aka denim jerseys against Tennessee.
BTI, any chance we can see Walter’s windmill dunk from this same game? [I believe it was only a play or two before/after the Anderson-toMcCarty alley oop.]
July 20th, 2009 at 4:01 pm
24-LOL
July 20th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
HAHAHA! Look at that little skip Anderson does after the play! hAHHAHAHA!!!
July 20th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
I remember overhearing about this at Madness in 06 and been looking for it forever. Thanks. I miss the swag that we had back then, but I have a feeling we’ll get our swag back this year.
July 20th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
That 96 team was AWESOME! Vitale said we had teams 1 and 1A to win the title! The Roster was loaded!
PG Anthony Epps
SG Tony Delk
SF Derek Anderson
PF Antoine Walker
C Mark Pope
Bench Ron Mercer, Wayne Turner, Walter McCarty, Jeff Sheppard, Allen Edwards, Nazr Mohammed, Oliver Simmons, Cameron Mills, Jason Lathrem. And Jared Prickett redshirted, and Scott Padgett was cutting grass in Louisville!
I think also that Pitino had run off Rod Rhodes at the end of the previous year, or he would have been on the team as well.
July 20th, 2009 at 4:19 pm
BTI, I know we have all seen it, but PRINCE’s THREES against UNC in RUPP is a MUST for the Video Vault! The last one being from the K!
July 20th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
The Denims were first worn against Arkansas
because they also had denim unis that year.
It was a big Converse promotion that day at Rupp
if I remember correctly.

WHATS UP WITH A PATRICK SPARKS HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
July 20th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
I love how Epps jumps for no apparent reason.
July 20th, 2009 at 4:50 pm
I was at this game versus GT who had a good team with Marbury, Matt Harpring, Eddie Elisma, Mike Maddox and Eddie Elisma. We were actually down by 3 at halftime and came out and ended up winning by 23. There was also a 360 dunk in this game as well I think by Anderson but could have been somebody else.
July 20th, 2009 at 6:27 pm
If a guy named UKsucks get on here boo him and kick him off….
July 20th, 2009 at 8:03 pm
We need to put “Lexington” back on the sidelines…I loved that floor.
July 20th, 2009 at 8:44 pm
Hello! Hello! That’s a 10!
July 20th, 2009 at 11:09 pm
I asked for this video and BTI delivered. Congrats BTI, you have just passed Hunter and are now my next to last favorite blogger on this site. (Sorry Hunter, you shouldn’t have beat me last year)
July 21st, 2009 at 1:14 am
25, it was DA that did the windmill dunk in this game. And yes, it was actually only a minute or two before this dunk. Glad you found it, BTI, I never doubted you. I would like to request the DA dunks vs UL and IN if you got ‘em. Think we can get that top ten dunks of all time video added to the vault? I have to assume they’re both on it.
July 21st, 2009 at 7:58 am
How SWEET this was!! Is it possible that we will see players playing like this again!?????!!! GO CATS!!
July 21st, 2009 at 9:31 am
Derek Anderson was the most exciting player through the 90′s. Jeff Brassow was also a ton of fun to watch. Are there any big men who play like McCarty anymore?!?
July 21st, 2009 at 9:33 pm
BTI, can’t thank you enough for tracking this down. it was the only game i made it to in 96 (as an 11 year old) and THIS MOMENT stands out as my favorite ever at rupp. #13, your fanhood is at stake.
