One of the cool things about doing these videos recently is people have given me ideas for looking up highlights of games and performances that I had forgotten. Gerald Fitch in 2004 against 9th ranked UNC was one such highlight. Enjoy.

I was there live for this one with my best friend. The 3 absolutely brought the roof off of Rupp. Arguably the best live game I’ve been to to date.

awesome thanks BTI. I was on the front row of the eRupption zone, what a great memory.

that’s me at 3:32 fist pumping behind Ravi Moss
July 17th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
IDC what anyone says Chuck Hayes was *explicative* awesome. We should have had NC’s during the Fitch/Daniels/Hawk days
July 17th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
I remember the Moss layup off the pass from Cote made me jump up and fist pump several times.

I saw Mohammed twittered that he was watching BTI’s 98 NC run video montage

I didn’t realize the eRupption Zone was around in 2004
July 18th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
#8- yeah the eRupption zone was first introduced in the 2002-2003 season, which was my freshman year at UK. It was largely unpopular with students at first at the ticket lotteries for some reason (seats in the lowers preferred), so my freshman year it was really easy to get tickets. We used to get to games only about 2 hours before hand and get front row. I was actually the first student ever in the eRupption zone for a game, I believe it was an exhibition game against Athletes in Action where Bogans hit a buzzer-beater to win. For this UNC game in January 2004, though, the e-zone was considerably more popular, and we got to the arena around 5:30am for the game (at noon I believe) to get front row.

I want to see the highlights of a game I went to in 2002. Florida at Kentucky Saturday, March 2 2002. http://bigbluehistory.net/bb/statistics/Games/20020302Florida.html
“Fitch, a sophomore guard, was back in action for the first time since Feb. 16. He had missed the last three games due to a series of disciplinary matters, but responded with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists off the bench against the Gators.
None of his shots were bigger than the go-ahead 3-pointer. Coming out of a timeout, Kentucky opted to use Prince as a decoy and set up a play for Fitch to curl around a screen by center Marquis Estill on the left wing. The Cats ran the play to perfection as Fitch broke free from Orien Greene and buried the shot to put UK ahead 68-67. “

I was at this game. Good memory. thx

Maybe you could submit these under a new category “video vault” instead of blue blooded opinions so we can find these easier later on.

You should post the highlight from this game:

Azubuike got so NASTY with that obne handed put back slam. I was at this game and I remember this as the game that Azubuike really game out. He hadnt been used all that much throughout the season, and only played 11 minutes this game but look at this stat line (and the final score hahahahaha):

Please post the highlights from this game so i can see how we scored the 104 OTHER points. GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!

15. those highlights were posted just a couple days ago.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Good highlights for a couple of reasons. 1) It was a great shot by Fitch. 2) 2004 was the last time UK beat the Heels.

Buike was a beast. Of all of Tubby’s screwup’s, his complete inability to use Buike to the point Buike felt better in the NBDL is the worst.

I was at this game with my ex-girlfriend. One of the most memorable games I have attended!
July 18th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
was that a Bernard Cote sighting??? wow some of passes by Cliff were amazing, I guess I forgot how great a passer he really was…
July 18th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
I mean, you gotta love Ravi Moss.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
We should had been a Final Four Team that year.
July 18th, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Bryan, can we please pull out the video when Erik Daniels makes a layup to beat Miss St with like 3 seconds on the clock? I remember having confidence even being down 1 point with 3 seconds that we were going to win that game. Sure enough Hayes misses a layup and Daniels is there to put it in! I can’t remember when that took place. Anybody help me out?
July 18th, 2009 at 3:33 pm
I want to see the Nazr Mohammed miracle flip-shot against Vandy in Nashville. I believe it happened in the 96-97 season.
July 18th, 2009 at 6:06 pm
23) I don’t know where a video of just that highlight is, but I do remember it taking place in January of ’04.
July 18th, 2009 at 6:41 pm
The Erik Daniels lay-up was great for another reason because we were leading most of that game. Towards the end, it looked like we were dead meat. But sure enough, we found a way to win. That game was awesome. Kentucky at Florida in 2003 and 2004 were great games too. Very great games.
July 18th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
Seeing these highlight vids posted the past few days has made me physically ill at the way BCG had the team playing. Heaven forbid there is spacing, more than one 3-point shooter to guard, etc.
July 18th, 2009 at 9:11 pm
Love that clip. What about the two dunks against Georgia Tech in the ’96 champ season? DA’s windmill and the pass off the glass to McCarty? I’ll never forget that game.
July 18th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
did anybody else notice we had 20 points at halftime of that game? Twenty f@!?ing points!! So glad those days are over
July 19th, 2009 at 12:39 am
cliff is such a great passer thats amazing
July 20th, 2009 at 10:03 am
That was one of the games I will remember forever. I took a friend of mine who’d never been to a UK game before. We were in upper level but still had such a perfect angle for that shot. It felt like an eternity for it to go in, but it looked good the whole way.
July 28th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
fitch probably shouldn’t have taken that shot
