I spoke a few moments ago with Jai Lucas who had just finished his in-home visit with Billy Donovan. HE said the visit went well and that he is getting to know Coach Donovan after “they kind of got a late start.” He said he was glad to have the visits wrapped up and “its time just to finish this and make a decision.”
He described the visit by Billy Clyde this way: “IT was just a real cool visit. Coach Gillispie brought a plan for what I would do at Kentucky every day for the next two years. He goes into detail on practice times, workout times and games…..he is really organized. He did the same thing with Pat and it shows that he really knows what he wants to do there.”
Lucas said that nothing had really changed but that he will cut his list to 2-3 on Wednesday and then make a decision by the end of the week or early next week. He said he plans to announce via a press conference and that he is “excited to finally make a decision.”
There you go…..its almost over….

The recruitment of Jai Lucas will eventually end. If it doesn’t end by August we can have someone follow him to his first class and see where he enrolled.

Jai has become a drama queen. Enough already with your decision Jai, just hurry up and make it! He said himself there were no changes, so that goes to show you he just wants more attention. I could care less about when he makes his decision, he’s not really needed at UK and if we can snag Hamga and Sanchez forget PP and JL.

It will be very interesting to have Jai decide where he wants to go before Ptterson decides.
Honestly, I don’t want Jai if we don’t get Patterson. Lucas seems like a good player but he could easilt be recruited over in the coming years.. still , Billy did recruit him at A&M so maybe he does want him pretty bad. Give me two big guys and call it a day for me. Jasper should be able to run the point as a junior.

im 16 about 5′8″ and 150 lbs and im bigger than lucas (i lift every other day) it doesnt look to me like he does at all. if ur gona be 5′9″ and playing D-1 ball you should at least have some muscle on you.

#39, it was posted just above the Jai update and disappeared (authored by Rob Gidel). It was basically an opinion piece looking at the pros and cons of each school in terms of why Jai would or would not go somewhere. Nothing really new IMO, except that it didn’t seem very favorable about UK but seemed very favorable about Maryland and maybe Florida. Just my opinion.

that’s all great, but we need someone on the team from KY - so that they can explain to all these guys from NY, Cal, Atlanta, Poland, etc - that when UK loses to Tenn, it’s like someone beating up your your mother. Doleman, Nes, and Lofton etc knew that. so does Petregrew. too bad

I bet Billy G thinks Jai is worth the wait! He has seen the current team scrimmage and knows what he needs; he knows the kid is charismatic and has other kids following his recruitment; plus he gets John Lucas on TV for every home game and John will rip Dookie V a new one! Having said that he will move on if Jai says nyet!

A quick synopsis would be that Lucas really really likes BCG and this last visit may go a long way in determining the fate of
Jai… As you guys probably already know, BCG did the same thing with Lucas as he did with Patterson, by showing him what a
complete schedule would look like for him, including practice, school-work, and free-time. Jai is also really comfortable with
BCG and he needs that comfort in his coach at the college level. Last but not least, I feel the MAIN FACTOR for Lucas to UK will
be Coach Syp………………. Just a breif Synopsis, I don’t want to give away premium material, so I condensed it and summarized it…

Holding out like this reminds me of the occasional pro football star who doesn’t sign a contract until late and then, if he doesn’t quite measure up to the hype, the fans seem to hold them to a higher level of accountability. While I also want these guys, the sport’s world will watch them closely to see if they were worth all the drama!

I have a slight feeling that Jai Lucas wants to play with Patrick Patterson a lot more than Patterson wants to play with Lucas. I also feel that Patterson does not really care to play with Lucas that much. If Patterson chooses UF than he get to play with Hoge and Calethes, while if he goes to UK he gets to play with Meeks and Legion. I don’t think Patterson cares about Lucas. That is why I hope that Patterson tells Lucas that he is going to Florida so Lucas commits to Florida. Then on May 16 I want Patterson to commit to UK. We have enough guards already and I feel that Lucas is just in love with Patterson and doen’t really want to be at UK.

I have to say, that I found this website and love it. I think Jai is a good addition, but not a must. I do think Jai and PP will attend school together. I also feel like BCG is forcing recruits to make a decision about attending KY. In other words if you want to attend, you better make a decision becuase he is making offers and not waiting around. I must say that I have NEVER been so excited about recruiting. If Jai comes then either Porter or Jasper is out. I have also come to a decision and that is, with BCG recruting I am not worried about getting players anymore. Hey Tubbs, if you couldn’t recruit to KY then how in the world are you going to recruit to MN?
