Glad he said no. Glad we got Coach Cal. 1st.
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:56 pm
Jay Wright would have been awesome, but I’ll take Calipari any day!
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:38 pm
Is one of these articles the “good news” that was coming this week? ‘Cause the week’s about over and I’ve not seen any “good news” for UK.
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:38 pm
Jay Wright will be the next hot coach one day possibly, but not now, I’ll give it until Cal retires lol
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:39 pm
3. I’ve been saying the same thing for awhile, and I don’t believe the news that was anticipated was from the Henry bros.
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:47 pm
4) Jay is already the hot coach, but the guy has been incredibly loyal to Nova. Most thought he would only leave them for the NBA, Philly in particular, but he declined their offer this spring.
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:54 pm
5. That’s what somebody else told me, too — that the Henry brothers deal wasn’t the good news. So what is?!?
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:59 pm
why does it sound to me like Gilchrist’s high school coach does not want him at UK? He seems hell-bent to say over and over that Gilchrist is wide open and that there is no truth at all that Kentucky is his fave…and that he needs to speak to Roy Williams more…and on and on…is this the same St. Patrick’s where Rhodrick Rhodes came from? I bet it is…

good news. I just saved a bunch of money by switching my car insurance to Geico. &c
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:11 pm
7. We still hv tomorow
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:24 pm
Wright is smart not to mess with a good thing. Pitino had it all and gave it away for the Celtics. Now he suffers in Card hell.
We’re lucky the ACC left CUSA depleted else Calipari might not have left.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Thank goodness he turned it down & Cal accepted, makes you wonder what they were thinking, why oh why didn’t they hire Cal in the first place instead of Clyde the Clueless, geez!

Don’t know why my above post has a smiley with shades. That was supposed to be in reference to poster #8.

Daruis Miller 9pts 9rebounds 1asisst 1block in 20 minutes versus Egypt
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:10 pm
He is going to be special this season

Think back one week ago today.
Who would have thought Gov. Sanford would STILL be in office, and Sarah Palin would be OUT.
Gotta love the U.S.A.
Happy Independence Day!!

Best coaches in college basketball to not have a championship.
Cal- Will have one or more
Crean- see Cal
Jay Wright- Gonna need a lil luck
Lon Kruger- Seems to always be a dollar short and a day late.
Sean Miller- A guy who can do damage at a place like Arizona.
Still basking in the moment of the Evan live blog. Thanks again, BTI.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:49 pm
15) Glad to hear Miller had a better night.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:55 pm
13, 14) Oh yeah….thanks! You are correct.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Jay Wright was on top of my wish list when Billy was released. I didn’t think we had a shot at Cal at the time of course. Wright’s future is blindingly bright.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:02 pm
when are we going to hear the good news that’s supposed to come out this week?
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:04 pm
22. That’s what I asked earlier, but still no one seems to know. Can’t someone give us a hint?
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:05 pm
Cal was my 1st choice when Tubby left and I figured that Barnhart wouldn’t go after him this time cause he didn’t last time. Figured it was a Sandy Bell call. But Wright was the next coach I wanted, after him it was a crapshoot.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:06 pm
I’ve been waiting all week, i thought it was the Henry’s…but i really hope that wasn’t it!
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:13 pm
From talking to Coach Wright and just seeing the way he runs his program he was the only coach OTHER the Cal that I’d have been okay with getting the keys to the empire
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:16 pm
I just got a text from SaveUK that said his buddy is hearing there is a big holiday coming tomorrow but wouldn’t specify which one.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:25 pm
Things worked out for the best. Gotta respect Jay Wright and gotta love Coach Cal at Kentucky!
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:31 pm
27. “Flag Day”?!? “Arbor Day”?!? Come on, ask SaveUK for a hint!

July 4th, 2009 at 12:01 am

July 4th, 2009 at 1:01 am
32. Thanks — I’m here all week! Try the veal! Ooooh, that sounds good, too. Now, I’m getting hungry.

July 4th, 2009 at 6:29 am

July 4th, 2009 at 8:16 am
Miller just misses a double double — go CATS!

In the Gilchrist and Irving colunm there seems to be conflicting opinions. Irving and his coach agree the 2 players could attend the same college. The mother says there is no such deal. Why were Michael’s feelings left out.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:21 am
36 & 37. So, is Matt Pilgrim going to Oklahoma State the “good news” we’ve been waiting for?
