The sad news of the day comes from the world of broadcasting where my favorite sports personality, Tony Kornheiser is out at Monday Night Football. He will be replaced by Jon Gruden in a move that will likely upgrade the telecast but will hurt Mr. Tony. The one positive about this move is that it could lead the way for Kornheiser to return to radio, his true home and the thing that he is BY FAR the best at. So if that happens, it will all be a wash. At least we still have PTI, although we have to listen to Wilbon as well.

Wasn’t a big fan of TK on MNF. Love him on PIT however. During the actual game, I don’t want commentators who always feel they have to interject a funny joke after every play. Save that for PTI the day after the game.

The guy was absolutely terrible on MNF! His intentions were good i think, but he just needs to stick to PTI and leave the football analysis to the guys that actually know a thing or two.

The other day I read on Wikipedia that they wouldn’t re-air his radio show until MNF was out of the picture. I’d much rather have my daily morning dose of his awesome radio show than watch him fail at mnf.

8) No, I just don;t see it happening. Cavs could even sweep that series, maybe lose one game.
I think Denver beats the Lakers though, even though a lot of people are saying that now, so it is not a groundbreaking assessment.
I heard on ESPN that Tony K was leaving “to cut down on travelling.”

Used to love PTI until Wilbon started the whole i hate UK. Maybe Kornheiser leaves Pti to and let Wilbon and Whitlock have a half hour of bitching abou how racist UK and there fans are.

ESPN says Kornheiser stepped down because of his fear of planes. Said he looked at the upcoming schedule for MNF and wanted to “quietly extricate myself”. And no I am not kidding.

19. That would be a huge upgrade in coaching for UofL if they landed Gruden. The problem would of course be that Gruden would likely just use UofL as a stepping stone to a bigger and better job. In other words, the status quo would be restored.
