The word on the ‘net is that Kentucky Ink is reporting that Coach Calipari is getting set to accept the verbal commitment of 2010 shooting guard Will Barton, a five-star shooting guard ranked as Rivals’ #24 player in the class of 2010. Also, Scout.com has the 6-5″, 165-pound player from Baltimore ranked as the #10 player in his class and top shooting guard. According to Rivals, Barton was also mulling offers (if this is a done deal) from Arizona, Georgetown, Maryland, Memphis, Pitt, Providence, Virginia and Xavier.
None of the major news outlets (not to discredit KyInk) have confirmed the story yet, but as soon as we have a story, we’ll post it.
Take a look at what he brings. He appears to be a fairly good player:
But, what we do have confirmed is that the #2 PF in the class of 2009, All-American Renardo Sidney, has signed with Mississippi State after backing out of his commitment to Southern Cal.

Why the eff does it MATTER who had this first? Good lord, come on. It’s great news either way, where it comes from is irrelevant so long as it’s true.
BTW, that’s incredibly huge news about Sidney. Not only does the SEC get a major acquisition, but the ceiling continues to fall in on USC this off season.

Renardo Sidney is an awesome talent and a big pick up for our SEC brother. However, he will never be a factor against us. I believe Coach Cal can force our tempo in all games, and Sidney is a fat guy. A big and physical big man who will dominate the paint when MSU is able to set up half court. But he will never get across half court with his big wide ass against us before Wall delivers the assist to Meeeks/Patterson/Cousins/ or Miller.

TBK fags pay money to be teased whereas I logged in here tonight and was greeted with the great feeling of a nice surprise for free. Paying for TBK is like going to a strip club. You pay money for a tease that usually gets you nowhere. I’ll hang out in this bar and pick up the pieces at closing time and be a lot happier for it.

For a couple here worried about his ranking, I’m not sure why. #1 SG on Scout and #10 overall…rated #24 on Rivals overall. I don’t see the problem.

23 I think Wall had committed to Calipari and Memphis before he came to UK. Cousins did also but he was quick to follow Cal. Some of these players like to wait in cases like this I guess. Look at what Henry decided to do aftersigning a LOI under Calipari.

Just to point out to the MM guys at the top, if MM said this kid would commit two weeks ago that is a prediction not the reporting of news.

HeGetsIt: I do, but haven’t been to many places that show Cats game. There’s a small UK group that gets together at Blinco’s on Glenwood but that’s the only one I know of. I went on a weeknight to watch with them and there were only about 8 people, but they say more come for the weekend games.

83. All I know is Musket Man, Papa Clem, General Quarters are all great horses and they will all go off at big prices. There’s defintiely some value to be had in Derby 135.
Just seems I’m never a part of the “good value”.
Only reason I added Hot Stuff was for the 50/1. You gotta think there will be at least one horse with huge odds get on the board. None of these horses have ran this distance. And if the favorites aren’t in a position to win coming into the stretch, the jocks will pull up to preserve them.
