- Still the only independent (not citing Memphis reports) Kentucky-based report that it is a done deal is from the Courier-Journal’s Rick Bozich. If it is wrapped up already, the reason we might not be seeing more reports is because no one at UK is going acknowledge it until the name is on the contract. When that happens, the madness will begin.
UPDATE: Eric Crawford also says “Calipari is a Cat” and says the introduction should be incredible.
UPDATE AGAIN: John Clay saying Memphis station now retracting their story and claiming Calipari is wavering and nothing is definite.
- Rick Pitino continues to put in his two cents on the situation and says Calipari would do a great job

I just heard on Memphis Sport Talk 560 that a plane is departing from Memphis to Lexington with Coach Cal headed to Lexington.

I hate to say this…but I’ve become rather friendly with a UK booster and Cal may be backing out. Mitch SHOULD be in Memphis! My source said that they were ready to announce today. Not good!

What do you think of the idea that Cal is waiting for Mike Anderson to take the Georgia job or stay at Missouri, so that he can get Barbee to Memphis. Cal probably doesn’t want Anderson to replace him at Memphis since his last game would be a loss to him.

Michael Wilbon is ABSOLUTELY annoying. All this guy does is dog us on ESPN. What is he from DUKE or somethin? Whats up with him. He seriously implies that being at Memphis is just as good as Kentucky. Sometimes I think this guy is either lying to himself, or just REALLY hates Kentucky. Maybe both.

All local media outlets are reporting it. The plane is on its way to bring him here (unknown if Mitch or boosters are on it).
They will announce a pep rally/presser for tomorrow, as with Billy 2 years ago.
My guess is they spend tonight/early tomorrow finalizing details of the contract, etc.
I expect to see some excited Cats players tomorrow.
