Moses’s coach to HL: ‘Marshall is overrated’

by @ 5:19 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions, John W.

Well, this one is mind boggling to say the least. Terry Truax, who coaches Marshall Moses at Patterson Prep, spoke with the HL’s Jerry Tipton about the recent recruiting firestorm surrounding his player and UK. And well, all I can say is wow.

“Marshall, right now, is very overrated.”

“If I’m coaching Kentucky, I’d have to believe I could get better players,” said Terry Truax, who coaches Moses at Patterson Prep in Lenoir, N.C. “I wouldn’t worry if I was a Kentucky fan or supporter. Only time will tell, and I hope I’m wrong for the kid’s sake and Oklahoma State’s sake.”

Gee, thanks coach. I don’t know if Truax is being paid-off by UK, trying to motivate his boy/team, or just that much of a straight shooter, but I’ve never really seen a coach so critical of a player right after they’ve signed with a successful D1 program. Strange indeed.

Link: Truax talks with Tipton

Matt Jones: Great find by the Intern here. Not good when a coach comes out and makes statements like these. I gotta disagree with the coach on his upside and athletic ability…..but the coach sees Marshall every day in practice, and thus it is obvious other issues affected his view on the kid. Wonder if the coach expressed these views to Tubby? Very interesting indeed…..

  1. Han Says:

Wow. That’s pretty rare. How often does a coach throw his player under the bus like that in the recruiting game?

By the way, let’s start the countdown until someone claims this is just another example of Matt and his cronies spinning a Tubby failure into a Tubby success. ;)

  2. Wes Says:

Wow! The plot continues to get thicker! There is definately something going on here. This may also help explain why UK took so long getting him on campus. This is very strange…

  3. Matt Jones Says:

    LOL….thanks a lot Coach!!!

  4. DCWildcat Says:

I’m still going to be bitter for a long, long time

  5. Intern Says:

I still disagree with the way the staff continued to schedule and cancel visits, but it’s obvious that the people who need to know, know enough.

  6. WoodstockCat Says:

I think it was a bit harsh to young man, maybe tough love, but he could have easily used the word immature instead of overrated.

  7. See Are Oh W Says:

So why did we schedule a visit for a kid whose coach said he was a scrub 4 times?

  8. philmckracken Says:

Agree that the whole thing is kinda rough towards the kid, but as I said before, unless he leads Ok. St. to a final four and gets elgible for next year (unsure to doubtful) then it was the right move.

No offense Matt, but you, in conjunction with some others, have created an internet legend with all the attention he has garnered on internet recruiting boards and it seems that those that know him best don’t think he will live up to the hype. Definately an interesting situation and interview no matter what side of the Moses debate you are on.

  9. Bruce Says:

Matt, I really find this hard to believe…I am just shocked at this…I think Moses
is getting a bad wrap if you ask me…Just remember one thing Matt…the tape does
not lie and Moses looks real good to me based on the highlights…Inside/Outside…a
mismatch player that UK has not had in some time…This is crazy…The Coach I believe is
    just a joke…

  10. Just Wow Says:

Mean spirited, Cat tail kissing, diatribe from his coach. I don’t think it says much about the decision making of Kentucky coaches, OSU coaches, or Marshall Moses but it says a lot about his coach.

  11. kbtwentytwostang Says:

That coach is like school in the summertime, no class. I don’t care if this kid isn’t any better than I am, you don’t say that. Sounds as if the coach is lashing out because he said Moses was a lock for UK and the kid committed elsewhere.

  12. Just Wow Says:

Or else Kentucky can’t say anything bad about a recruit to take the heat off Tubby so they get the kids high school coach to?

  13. Clay Says:

Simply put UK wants Moses in 08 and it could happen if everyone would settle down. He will not be at OKIE ST in 07 mybe 08.

  14. Sweet Z71 Says:

#14, you might be on to something there.

  15. Gray Temples Says:

Not a very good example of “Coachspeak”!!!!

  16. Norrin Says:

Perfect example of why everybody should keep their mouth shut until the facts are out. Here’s a player not ranked in the top 100 that is a academic question mark. I’m glad OTS is running the UK program instead of the morons that condemned him for not taking MM. We don’t know how the visits were handled outside of what MM told Matt.

  17. Carlisle1974 Says:

FWIW, I had an e-mail exchange with Mike DeCourcy of the Sporting News and he doesn’t believe UK fans should lose any sleep over not securing Moses’ commitment. He went as far as to call him a 3-Star recruit and that UK has “too many 2 and 3-Star players” and need to “concentrate on 5-Star players like Patrick Patterson”. But he too is leary about putting all of UK’s eggs in the PP basket.

I personally am not very familiar with Marshall Moses, outside of what I read about him on the blog. Hopefully this won’t come back and bit UK in the backside.

  18. Sean Sutton Says:

In light of this new evidence I would like to openly ask Tubby if wants to trade the rights of Moses
for the “potential” rights of Patterson. I’ve been conned.

  19. kbtwentytwostang Says:

“Perfect example of why everybody should keep their mouth shut until the facts are out. Here’s a player not ranked in the top 100 that is a academic question mark. I’m glad OTS is running the UK program instead of the morons that condemned him for not taking MM. We don’t know how the visits were handled outside of what MM told Matt. ”

I’d bet you were singing his praises when Matt said he was UK lock.

  20. Anonymous Says:

Perfect example of why both sides of a story should be reported on instead of one…the disgruntled
    one at that.

  21. SEKY_CAT Says:

PURE POLITICAL SPIN– WAY TO GO!

  22. Ron Svaboda Says:

Tapes of guys dunking without a defender are a dime a dozen…….If Moses was that great, why wasn’t other D1 schools actively pursuing him…….OK State and UK….not too impressive if you ask me. His coach probably wanted him to go to UK so he could get his occassional free ticket to a game at Rupp……Academic standards are certainly higher at UK and it seems the team is currently meeting those standards judging by their GPA. So, we just need to hope and pray we get Patterson and Pettigrew, etc………move on.

  23. Marshall moses Says:

My coach is really over-rated,I hope for his sake he gets better but only time will tell!

  24. glasgowcat Says:

    lol.

  25. Anonymous Says:

I cannot believe that anyone would endorse this coachs comments much less try to use them as a reason to say Tubby knew what he was doing all along.

What this coach is saying is sick. I hope the Moses family sues him for defamation.

  26. SoCal Will Says:

Intern, Thanks. This kid is getting a fire hose of “real life” while his peers are drinking from fine crystal. I hope he has the support system to help him believe in himself!

  27. Lenny Christ Says:

I told ya’ll about sueing people. Now somebody wants to sue. It’s the American Way.

  28. Just Wow Says:

It wouldn’t be defamation if it is arguably true. But in a public school at least the kid has a legal right to privacy of records.

  29. Norrin Says:

#20. I never sang his praises. You lose that bet. I’m not ragging on him either. All I know for sure is he is not a top 100 player and his academic ducks are not in a row. Anything else would be conjecture on my part and that is part of the problem here. Most of us have never seen MM play.

  30. Bobby Adkins Says:

Does anyone know if they are tickets available for the Patterson game at Memorial on Friday and how much tickets? please let me know

  31. TWPCat Says:

News flash….Tubby does know what he is doing! LOL

  32. Gasman Says:

    #12….excellent Fat Albert reference!

  33. Gasman Says:

    oops…that was #11

  34. Intern Says:

Bobby, when Huntington played Lex Cath a few weeks ago at Memorial, tickets were $5 I think, and there were plenty to go around. You’ll be fine if you walk up at tip-off without a ticket.

  35. Voice of Reason Says:

I don’t beleive a coach would say this about one of his players. Is everyone forgetting people who saw this kid play and thought we’d be better off with him than PP.

Now we have to see this kid defamed to make our inept coach look good. Disgusting.

  36. Han Says:

So, the 3 viewpoints so far are:

    1) Evil, classless coach
    2) UK spin machine
    3) Proof UK made the right choice

Do we have any more angles we can harp on?

  37. David Shuman Says:

Maybe OSU will drop there offer and MM will come a call’in … I still want him wearing Kentucky Blue.

  38. cyeast97 Says:

I don’t think Moses coach defaming him makes Tubby look good. We have 3 target prospects
and NEED two of them….Moses was one of those 3. Tubby is getting a gift handed to him with Pettigrew.

  39. conspiracy theorist Says:

This gets more confusing day after day. Clearly, this is a Pinto-esque ploy by his coach to shrink his player’s enormous head….Or maybe…just maybe….Marshall and Coach Truax, aka Coach Ax the Spin Dr., are in this together. No headlines like the big ones generated by player/coach feuds.

The next step in shredding Marshall’s good-boy image just may be a Latrell Sprewell/P.J. Carlisimo staged episode. I can see the headlines now - “Evil Moses?? Marshall Moses abandons ship. Who could have seen this flood coming?”

Sean Sutton must be more visibly shook than he was when he almost collapsed courtside.

  40. ba1 Says:

I dont understand how anyone can say Matt overstated our interest in Moses. We scheduled FOUR visits with him.

There clearly was strong interest in him. It is also surprising to see all the posters who were claiming Moses was one of the players that was going get us back on top now saying we never wanted him anyway. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

  41. conspiracy theorist Says:

Can you tell I’m an atheist? Noah was the dude with the ark/flood stuff. Sorry.

  42. Tom Gray Says:

    Paid off by UK???

One of the most absurd comments I’ve ever read on the Internet.

  43. kbtwentytwostang Says:

My bad norrin, put you in the wrong bucket.

  44. conspiracy theorist Says:

ba1, isn’t nearly as surprising as his coach changing position.

  45. Charlie Says:

Time will tell if the kid is as good as billed or if the coach is right. Tubby still does not get off the hook. Especially if Tubby is unable to land Patterson. Patterson is a bigger get than Lucas at this point.

  46. UKBALLA Says:

You cant trust everything off of a tape. They are called highlights for a reason, and unless tapes on a player are from every game he has played in (meaning he is a highlight every night) then all a tape really is, is a tool for a coach to want to seem more. Showing this kid can do these things, but if it was against a week team, or all his highlights come on mis-match nights it really doesn’t mean a thing. Character and off the court attitude is what matters most to any college coach, and sounds of it moses didn’t have the off the court issues correct. If you have a difficult qualifying from high school then i highly doubt your going to be able to stay qualified at a D1 level school, and if you do thats a big gamble to take with a scholarship, one i know tubby cant take.

  47. TheSPORTSAnimal Says:

Very interesting indeed! I have never read anything like that from a coach, but he knows the kid better than anyone on this blog. I am glad there is more to the story than what was being put out there.

  48. Norrin Says:

No problem KB. I haven’t seen him play. He might be a great player but there are obviously some question marks that need to be answered before I make a judgement on what went down.

  49. UKBALLA Says:

i still disagree with the kid being jerked around 4 times, but then again that might just show thats how many times this kid had in order to up his stature on the “off court” issues.I think the comments by his coach (whom would know him best) would be accurate and probably thinks that its moses fault for UK not letting him come in, something moses screwed up rather than UK, thats why the coach had those comments. Of course the kid wanted to come in here and play and visit, but he probably didnt try his best to get things squared away.

  50. Han Says:

Speaking of highlights, anyone else watching Vandy handle Florida in the first half?

(And with 2 of Vandy’s starters sitting the bench with 2 fouls)

  51. UKBALLA Says:

i forgot about that game, i got to tune in.

  52. Dr. Bob Says:

Truax is a former UF coach, back in the mid-seventies. I believe he is a Dean Smith disciple. Grades have always been a problem. The hope most had was that he had a learning disorder and could get a waiver. I guess not.

  53. Gerry DiNardo Says:

That should make for an interesting next game for Patterson High. I don’t think I would be too motivated to play for a coach who said that about me (for whatever reason, and I do think there is something more to this), especially after I had already committed to a top 15 team. This is like an inverse high school level version of the Sprewell and Carlesimo incident.

  54. conspiracy theorist Says:

Dr. Bob and the obligatory gator post.

  55. starchief5 Says:

The coach should not have made public comments like that about any of his players - with good intentions or not. It’s not right … period. Maybe UK didn’t handle his rejection with any class, but they bear no responsibility for this coach’s classless remarks. Only time will tell if it was a mistake to pass on him.

  56. Smokey Pearl Says:

#42, Have you ever read one of your own posts.

  57. glord Says:

Something is going on with Moses. I have said many times that when I saw him I was impressed. Is he as good as Patterson? Not even close IMHO. After what I saw on the court a year ago it is very strage to see -

    1. The fact he got so little attention from top schools.

    2. The fact that UK recruited him in this strange manner. Something kept holding them back from going after this kid.

    3. His coaches comments are very strange. Unless you are Coach K you don’t throw your players under the bus and even K only does when they are trying to go pro early.

Like I said this one is a strange one. Only time will tell.

  58. Tom Gray Says:

#56 yes. And you’re an imposter, too.

  59. Han Says:

Vandy up solid on Florida at the half. Leading most of the half. Woot.

With Florida, UK, Vandy, and Georgia, the SEC East is looking pretty tough right now, especially next to the SEC West.

(There’s no good post to discuss this in!)

You really have to wonder if this comment by his coach is just spite or something after he had declared so confidently that UK was #1 for Moses and no one else was in the picture. Still, how many coaches call their current players overrated? Maybe compare them to Jane rather than Tarzan, but overrated?

  60. Tom Gray Says:

    Hoopmasters (clipped) says:

Marshall Moses had re-classified to the junior class this past summer, but he’s come a long way this year and could qualify if he makes his test score this winter. He will take both the ACT and SAT in March. If he qualifies he’ll be headed to Stillwater next fall.

He is currently averaging 27 points and 12 boards an outing for the Patterson School. He was aggressive on the glass and can score ro 17-feet with regularity.

He chose Oklahoma State over interest from Kentucky, Florida, Kansas, Marquette, Illinois, and N.C. State.

  61. Norrin Says:

Wasn’t he supposed to be taking the SAT on the Saturday before he was to visit UK?

  62. Eazy Says:

    From the Herald-Leader:

“Brick Oettinger, an analyst for the Prep Stars recruiting service, described Moses as no better than a marginal top 100 player.”

Why was there such a stink raised over this kid if the above statement is true, assuming it is true?

  63. tdWILD Says:

gotta agree w/ those that said his coach is a punk. you just don’t say stuff like that

  64. Matt Jones Says:

Because it isnt true…..no ranking of Moses is really correct, because he was originally in the 08 class, and thus guys like Oettinger (who is from anotehr generation) didnt have him in their lists. When he reclassified, people didnt know where to put him.

Folks can debate what type of player he is, but I think he is a true talent. Whether his coach’s comments suggest that there may be other issues remains to be seen.

  65. EBARBAAU Says:

Moses team played in Christmas tourney near my home ( Greeeneville ,Tn tourney) his team went 1-2 and he was less than spectular fwiw

  66. Anonymous Says:

hype them up and push them down…..

  67. Han Says:

    66) Yup. It’s part of the system. The same one that pays some of them millions of dollars in professional contracts and endorsements.

  68. Red_Sea Says:

I like MATT JONES has an angle for every UK failure.

Jones was selling this kid the same way he did Brandan Wright. When they go elsewhere, they either weren’t coming or were overrated.

  69. Matt Jones Says:

I wont say he is overrated….I think UK screwed up big time

  70. conspiracy theorist Says:

    “The Ax” Truax must not.

  71. Norrin Says:

The BB teams GPA was 3.2 for the past semester. I heard Bill Kieghtley on the Tubby Smith show about a month ago say this was the best group of kids he has ever seen at UK in his 42 years. It could be that MM just wouldn’t be a good fit at UK. Just my opinion but I think with the info we have so far there’s no way this is a screw up at this time.

  72. 1kyfan Says:

Ok, if Moses is now so bad and we never wanted him….what does that say about A.J Steward since Moses has much better numbers and is ranked higher?

  73. UKBALLA Says:

74, u cant compare those two, they play in two different states against two different levels of competition. And its A.J. Stewart, not steward. Also its not the in game numbers i think UK staff and MM’s coach is worried about, its the numbers that dont get reported in the paper. And yes no coach should ever bash a player he has, but again no coach should ever lie about a player he has either. That only takes away from his credability, which you need if you want to try and get kids to the next level. A lot of coaches like to see what players do off the court, and in practice more than what the kid does in games. Sounds to me that not only MM’s highschool coach don’t like that, but maybe thats what was told to tubby and the crew as well. If you cant bring it 100% in practice everyday at the D1 level, you arent going to play and your not going to be that good.

  74. UKBALLA Says:

    72, not 74

  75. UKBALLA Says:

bad grades, bad attitude and off the court issues (which this team seen a lot of last year) don’t make for winning records. So its probably good that this has happened the way it did unless you want a repeat of last season.

  76. kevin Says:

#41 Jesus still loves you and hopes you see the light brother.

  77. Dr. Bob Says:

Vandy fell to the Gators this evening.

Moses was, and is, a talent. Patterson is more so and more quickly available. Moses does not have an attitude problem. As I typed earlier, many believe he has a learning disorder which could have given him a ‘pass’ on his grades. Guess OTS thought he would pass.

  78. SEKY_CAT Says:

Ill take a marginal top 100 player that BLEEDS BLUE anyday over a top 10 that leaves after 1 year.

  79. 1kyfan Says:

#73. Thanks, my bad on the spelling of Stewart. I agree with most of what you say. I don’t think we can judge next years recruiting class until we know more or after the spring signing period. I just don’t like putting all our eggs in one basket (PP). We hear that things are looking up for next year so I say if we don’t get PP then we save that scholarship for 2008. Please don’t sign another project just to try and have another big body.

  80. woodstockcat Says:

Voice of DD or uh..his own Reasoning posts the latest conspiracy theory from the swamp.

  81. conspiracy theorist Says:

Thanks #76. Hope you think for yourself as well.

  82. BoonevilleCat Says:

#17 - Very interesting quotes from DeCourcy on Moses. Maybe we aren’t missing out on much by not signing this kid.

  83. conspiracy theorist Says:

So Kevin, since you brought it to the rim. Why not slam it home with an opinion on this coachspeak? Or do you have a higher calling?

  84. D.Ho Says:

Strage about the comments the coach made about Moses….. and now those two will be together for the rest of the season. Awkward!
None of this whole thing makes much sense at all.
There is a lot that is unknown.

  85. Steven Leffler Says:

    what a freaking idiot

  86. barry Says:

The coach? The Tubbmeister? or Mr Moses?

  87. Steven Leffler Says:

the coach of moses’ high school team obviously….what a moron

  88. UKBALLA Says:

    79. I agree with you there, we dont need to sign a “project” player at UK. Either they can play or they cant, its UK not a JUCO. But I would much rather not have to hear about grades, and academic susp. etc. than anything. That tears a team apart becuase you never know if that guy is going to be there or not because he cant get it done in the classroom. Nothing against him, but he would have been better off going to maybe a JUCO or something proving he can make the grades then transferring in after that. But I do agree we dont need to just fill a jersey, it will all play out just fine, I trust Tubby, because i feel he’s already made a good call on this one. Not good of him to keep telling the kid he can come in then canceling on him but he knows its probably not worth it.

  89. mario urrutia Says:

if you watch deal or no deal it looked like joe crawfrod was playing tonight

  90. Pete Says:

#57, Glord and #84, D.Ho: I couldn’t agree more. Following the Moses story has been confounding, to say the least.

And, #77, Dr. Bob: LD? Man, I don’t even know what to say to that. Except, if true, I hope the kid has good people around him.

This whole story just proves that you can’t believe ANYTHING you read on the internet….

  91. barry Says:

The High school coaches can and DO tell college coaches that their players can play or can’t play on a particular level. A coach should NEVER say that to the media or to anyone else. You are right #87. He must be a moron or he is mad about the descision. Who knows what motivates some people, but I bet we haven’t heard the last of this situation.

  92. TubbyCAT Says:

Why is it when someone like a Brick Oettinger disagrees w/Matt’s assessment of a player or a situation they are from another generation? Those are Matt’s words, not mine?

This is what Brick Oettinger does for a living, he evaluates HS basketball talent and has done so for quite awhile! I would think his opinion would mean something, maybe not much, but something.

I APPRECIATE what Matt does w/this site and his love for it, but I don’t believe he is a “Know-All” or the “GOSPEL” when it comes to sports or basketball. He has a day job being a lawyer–his first calling–and that is great, seems this is more of a hobby and for fun. A pretty cool hobby by the way! All I am saying is if this site was ran by a sports journalist or someone w/more of a sports background or someone devoting 100% to it I’d probably pay closer attention. That is by no means degrading the site or Matt and his work here, I am here numerous times everyday and enjoy it tremendously and I thank everyone involved for the site.

I think the Moses saga is getting old and I wish we could move on. It seems to me there is a great deal of “mis-information” out there regarding everything w/this kid.

  93. TubbyCAT Says:

W/everyone involved w/UK basketball saying how great this bunch of kids are together and how well they get along, maybe Tubby is looking for the type of kids that can mesh w/that and keep the team unity as good as it is now!

  94. TheSPORTSAnimal Says:

If Marshall Moses does have some type of learning disability, (that could be a number of different things) I just hope he does well w/his academics and then concentrates on his basketball skills. He seems to be a great kid, who is level-headed. I just hope he can get it done in the classroom b/c that should always come first, or should!!!

  95. benherewaiting Says:

Im watching this texas game and i dont believe i have ever saw a player in college that is as good as Durant… He is really something.. Love to see a player of his caliber at uk for a year sometime…

  96. R. Smith Says:

I’ll take talent over team chemistry

  97. Matt Jones Says:

    Tubby Cat….couple of things

    1. Oettinger is old school…..lots of people do this for a living…some are better than others…I put Oettinger towards the bottom half….Gibbons and Telep are tops in my view. That is why I said that, not because he disagreed with me on this one player.

    2. I dont know how many sports journalists you have been around, but it takes no specialized knowledge to do it and requires no skill (as many have shown). Take “sports journalists” word if you want….but dont act like there is any specialized knowledge required to do this….anyone can.

    3. If you are tired of talking about Moses….then dont.

  98. goonies24 Says:

we will see if he is overrated…but wow….oh yeah, kevin durant is just a tad bit good…

  99. Marty Hart Says:

Moses parted the Red Sea, but he’s not coming to Lexington.

Tubby blew this bigtime and will live to regret this ugly mis-step in much the same way he dropped the ball with Chris Lofton

I’m glad to see Tom Gray continues to post like a madman on this site. It must a comfort to get away from his recruiting work and join the real world for awhile.

Frankly, I wish he’d take his tired, sad act and go fly a kite…it’s mighty old and getting older by the hour

  100. Voice of Reason Says:

woodstockcat is a regular at DD. He must be because this is all he has to talk about.

And Matt I think there is Telep then everyone else in terms of player evaluations.

  101. Kevin Durant Says:

Hey Guys, I had 37 points and 23 rebounds tonight. Can you say # 1 pick?

  102. Kevin Durant Says:

    Moses who?

  103. ????? Says:

One week ago, at least half the people on here wanted Moses at least as much as Patterson.

This week he is a bum who isn’t good enough or smart enough to even get an offer. Real classy guys.

  104. Marshall Moses Says:

    Thanks for nothing!

  105. roberto Says:

I was wondering where the last tiny band of Tubby Loyalists had disappeared to. Looks like they have made this site their home base.

Trash Moses to make Tubby look good. You guys are too much.

The good news is our long nightmare will soon be over. Matt will soon start to tell you about some serious rumblings going on around town about the buyout of the contract of a certain underachieving head coach.

My friends have told me to expect this to get deleted, but it does not change the fact that it is coming. We are committed to getting it done this year. If it takes more to cover our Title IX expenses, we are ready to pay it.

    Help is on the way!!!

  106. conspiracy theorist Says:

Ok, roberto (the guy whose post was deleted) help is on the way in the form of an unmarked van, four guys in lab coats, and a nice soft cell for your relaxation and recovery. So good luck, man. And watch that electroshock doo-hickys.

  107. TubbyCAT Says:

    Matt,

I know many sports journalists and even took a few journalist classes in college myself. I know you don’t have to have specialized knowledge to be a journalist. I disagree w/you on it not requireing skill, to be good requires skill. You are right about anyone being able to write, but to be good takes skill.

What I am saying is, everyone has an opinion and I appreciate yours as much as the next guy. However, if I have a legal question I probably would call you if that was an area of your expertise, if I had a sports question I might call Paul Dougherty. If I had a question about the REDS I would call Hal McCoy.

It goes w/out saying someone w/experience in a particular field is going to have more insight about that specific topic. It doesn’t mean it cannot be learned from the outside b/c things are taught and learned, but I still like the one w/the background more.

#83 I have always been one to let things play out. That is why I chose to believe in what I believe in. One day I realized there has to be more to life than this world. Anyways I love UK BASKETBALL. And I trust the ones who are running it That doesnt mean I agree with every move. That is why I let things play out. In the end actions speak louder than words.
