I wanted to post a picture of LSU alums Better Than Ezra and compare the similarities between ”a-wah-how, it was goooood” and Al Purnell’s catch phrase, but I’m a company man and Matt Jones gets the imagery that he wants. So, we can just analyze the above.
Like our fearless leader’s political views, I’m leaning left.
But, onto the task at hand. Kentucky may or may not be in the tournament right now depending on how skewed your sense of reality is <—that’s called ambiguity. Now both sides of the Kentucky fan civil war can get mad at me. But, like Evan said earlier, when you have a chance to beat a top 20 team at home late in the season, you damn well better do it - no matter what your tourney resume is - and that’s what the Cats have a opportunity to do today.
LSU has proven themselves to be the cream of the SEC crop so far by running away in the West and establishing a dominating home court presence. However, they’ve been fairly average on the road and the Cats will try to take advantage this afternoon a Rupp. Jodie and Marcus Thornton will be gunning. Patrick Patterson and Chris Johnson will be banging down low. The game is on CBS and it should be a ood one (we hope).

Watching them, it’s not about boxing out…it’s knowing the percentages of where the ball is going and wanting it more than the other guy. Just watching them grab for the ball and LSU to take it from them is frustrating!

That’s a difference between us and teams we play…they have shooters. Aside from Meeks I get scared when anyone else shoots a three. Plus, none of our opponents respect our shooters, so they sag on PP and help on Meeks.

It’s simple. Two can’t beat five. We only have two people who will even take a shot.
Defending UK is the easiest thing to do in college basketball. Stop Meeks because Patterson can’t beat you by himself. Stop Meeks and UK has no 3-point shooter. Even if Meeks beats his man around a screen, there are two waiting for him because our other guys can’t/won’t shoot the ball.

Porter needs to shoot when open…..Jodie needs to stop forcing shots. Can we get a defensive rebound? Anyone other than PPat going to play today? I say put Stewart in for one minute see what he does? Why was Stewart even on the floor? He’s not known for his defense. He’s got to be the stipudest player ever at Kentucky. But he should not have been playing. Coach Clydethorpe blew a great effort by the team in the 2nd half. The sad thing is we could have seen this all year. But he wouldn’t play Galloway. I know a lot of you Billy lovers will just eat up this moral victory. Sorry, that’s just not gonna cut it. If you think this means anything, then you don’t understand Kentucky tradition whatsoever. Season’s over.

OK my patience with Gillispie after today is wavering more than ever. I want to say make the NCAA or be gone with you. But that’s after a loss that hurts a lot. I’ll leave for a while so we don’t melt your site, Matt.

If coach had set it up that Miller handed it to Meeks and then Meeks passed it back to Miller who took a 3, if Miller would have missed it then everyone would be furious that Meeks hadn’t taken it.

453) From what I saw, AJ did not have a hand in his face. Maybe a little bit, but that wasn’t nearly enough D. He should not have been in the game in that situation.

I think the most frustrating thing about this team is that when we are down, we come roaring back and take the lead. Then lose it and lose the game in the waning moments.

I’m still puzzled about AJ being inserted as a defensive sub on LSU’s #2 option. I’d like an answer from BCG… An honest one and no mouth to Tom Leach.

I’m bashed as much as anyone on here the last few days, and this loss hurts. But I can stand get beating because a “Player” didn’t make a play, alot better than getting beat because your plan just sucked. I thought Clyde did a good job coaching today, but I really don’t understand his decision to use A.J. to defend the play anyway, He has been known to get lost in the shuffle from time to time. LSU is a really good team, who shot the ball really well. I’m affraid today was our last chance to lock a bid. If we win the last 2 and win at least 2 in the SEC Tourny, we may still have a outside chance. If we lose at Florida the at large is gone without a doubt.

The worst part is watching Thornton show zero respect after the loss. Acting like it was an insult that we were even in the game. I hope and pray we play them with this lineup in the SEC tourney. I think we’ve found the lineup we need, just need to not put AJ and Porter in situations to hurt us. That was a big issue today.

I think we beat Florida and we are in… Of course, we have to beat Georgia too. We would have a season sweep over Tennessee and Florida at that point. SEC is getting 4, for sure. There is no way we are not included if we have sweeps over both.

This may be above somewhere but WTF was the deal with the no call on the painfully obvious “push off” by LSU coming down court on their last possession?
I’ve said it since we started SEC play, this is absolutely the worst slate of officiating I’ve seen in all my years of watching SEC basketball, they are awful.

While playing the point, Galloway is very active with the ball as he advances down the court. Ha makes the defender backpedal a lot. He gets down court very quickly!
