While you were eating leftover candy from a four-day old Christmas stocking on Friday, or perhaps peeling an orange if your family is one of those who prefers to put things such as oranges and apples into said stocking, the Wildcats were busy exceeding expectations during a stunning 28-20 defeat of the Clemson Tigers in Nashville. Andre Woodson cemented his season with a very nice 300 yards in passing and three touchdowns, earning him the MVP and placing him alongside one-time juggernaut and famed latter-career press-conference crier Tim Couch as the only two QBs to top the 30 touchdown mark in one season. The Dickie Lyons Junior Show also put up a strong season finale and, in a festivus miracle, this defense was truly a force to be contended with, forcing Clemson to stuff their sorries in several sacks provided by the Cats.
Big bowl win, gang. But enough of my thoughts — what did you guys think? Post on, my wayward friends. Post on.

Outstanding game plan and a great way to top off an exciting year of UK football. The amazing thing is that we have only 6 scholarship seniors the least amount in Division 1 football. It bodes well for the future and I’m looking forward to my long 10 hour drives next year for a couple of home games. Congrats to the CATS.

Never thought I’d see the day. Really thought the Ghost of LSU Loss could have come back to bite us in the end. Great effort Cats!

Best finish to a season in 30 years. (The Pech Bowl Cats of the late 1970’s)
Clemson was a GOOD football team. UK beat them solidly and played very well.

Great win for the football team, FINALLY! Hopefully, both Burton and Woodson return and really take this program to the next level. Its time for everybody to get on board w/ Rich (including myself) and get behind this football team. I think recruiting in the near future could get interesting from this win yesterday.
Go to HELL U OF L!
Go Big Blue!

No oranges for me. I’ve been busy burning the coal left in my stocking.
Huge win for the Cayuts!

I agree #3. Best finish in 30 years, and the first time in 30 years I’ve been more excited about football than basketball.

Awesome game for the Cats!! Congrats to the coaches and players on a great season. I am really excited about the future of UK football under Coach Brooks and his staff. Hopfully the big win yesterday will bring us a few big recruits to wrap up the 07 class.
GO CATS!!!

Now will the fans dispense with the “Brooks is TOO OLD” mantra? It was Brooks, not Joker who called for the fake punt on 4th down. Joker froze when it was called, according to the H-L. Time out was called and Brooks called it again while Joker was hoping Brooks would change his mind. How is that being “too old”. Brooks is a strong willed man and he has willed this team to the success of this past season when it was on the brink of it “could go either way”. Great job by all the coaching staff. Andre gave all the credit to the defense and to the Qlback coach, (Sanders), and Dre’ has become a MAN. He’s back for one more year and all the BIG BOYS better have some respect on their schedule because the Cats will beat them for sure if they don’t. Just ask Clemsonh.

GREAT season Wildcats, I just returned from Oregon and word there is Rich Brooks can have his old job back, Best game I watched since the 1977 (or ‘78) Peach Bowl … in Atlanta, from the end zone freezing my tail off.

This was a great win, and this team showed more heart than I’ve seen in a long time! After we got the lead, I never felt as if the game was in doubt–a weird feeling actually. After seeing our defensive effort in the UT and Clemson games, I think we have a lot to build on next year. As long as we can keep the O-line play strong next year, I don’t think anyone will be able to stop our offense.
Seeing that fake punt yesterday, I thought I was viewing the reincarnation of Mumme. On the other hand, the defense was a little too good for Mumme to be behind it!
Go Cats & keep bringing in the recruits!

Don’t forget the 1984 season guys we won the Hall of Fame Bowl against Wisconsin. I was in school Jerry Claiborne’s first year and had to suffer through and 0-10-1 season in 1982.The 84′ season was quite an accomplishment. So it hasn’t been since the Peach Bowl in 1976 since we won a bowl game.

I was at the game and the game was TRULY AWESOME. The fans were into it, many of them kentucky and we stood the whole game to cheer on the CATS. It will be a game as Rich Brooks said we will truly remember forever. Awsome win.

It feels good doesn’t it?
I’m still smiling.

Great Job CATS! UK looked AMAZING! I was very impressed!
BUT I just have one question? Has placekicker Lones Seiber not proved OVER AND OVER that
he just does NOT have the ability to be a division 1 kicker? The field goal that he missed
could have been huge, and that is just one of many times that he has not come through, I wont
even mention the UT game, he cost us that one! Where is placekicker J.J. Housley, he is a
consistent kicker. I really hope Coach Brooks can see the light before next season. Congrats
CATS!

Hey Matt and the gang, great job with your Cats coverage, and it was great hanging out with you guys
and Ravi and Austin Moss at Hooters! Goals for next year, beating either UT or UF at home and playing a
bowl game in January!! Great season Cats!!!

Wow, a great time in Nashville. Incredible game, not perfect by the Cats but they made the clutch plays they had to make to beat a much more talented team. Oh yeah, BB Kings and Coyote Ugly were pretty damn fun after the game.
Great season by the Cats.
