[Moderated by Matt Jones]

I will have much more later but the Cats fell, continuing the streak of 73…..meaning when they let the opposing team score over 73, they are 0-6….under 73 and they are 16-0. This one will sting as the Cats fall 78-77.

13-3 SEC. Lock for NCAA.

nice post matt
January 31st, 2009 at 7:01 pm
Billy G should be coaching Eastern.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:04 pm
I think Billy G has got to walk the tightrope better. If he loses Patterson and Meeks after this season, he doesn’t have much wriggle room. Instead of being a poor loser and a man with little patience with the media, he’s got to provide better figure-head leadership.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:05 pm
Matt, who did Razor “lock down” today? Riiiiiiight. So much for him being a great defender.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Circus 3’s and a beautiful game by Downey with his drives and pull-up jumpers that were unstoppable. Those however are not the reason we lost.
Second chance points from a poor rebounding team is the reason we lost and of as usual too many turnovers.
I actually thought it was a great game to watch with some amazing interior passing from the Cats.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Billy G is not a good coach. A good coach knows how to
change defenses. Billy G is a moron.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:10 pm
At least we got Mitchell. Cats will be fine…just need to play smarter.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:20 pm
2 13-3 in the SEC for who? It won’t be UK
January 31st, 2009 at 7:24 pm
Bryan the Intern is an idiot. That’s the worst post I’ve ever seen on KSR. He should have his posting rights taken away. You sir, are a tool!
January 31st, 2009 at 7:24 pm
Bryan the Intern is low down, he dirty, and he a snitch. Bama Man.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:24 pm
10. that was Matt’s prediction for this UK team after the Ole Miss loss.
Not to mention Krebs being a key component for this year’s squad.
Dont kill the messenger.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:25 pm
4. Eastern High School?
January 31st, 2009 at 7:27 pm
I have no problem with the fans who wish for multiple transfers from this team. Just like Tubby’s last couple years, we have WAYYYY to many players that aren’t good enough to play at UK. Hell we have some of them starting.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:29 pm
Bryan the intern wears a tanpon.

15. Thank you.
Kentucky Basketball is the JOKE of college basketball. Can’t wait to have ESPN dog us some more. They need to start doggin Billy G. Anybody see him out in LexVegas tonight? Is he hammered. If my team played that weak on the boards, defended that poorly, and had the Baskeball IQ of a special ed class, I’d get hammered too! I’m embarrassed from VMI to Gameday making fun of us at Carolina, to the loss at home to Miami, the loss to a horribly depleted Ole Miss team, to today at home to a Lexington native who absolutely has better talent and outcoached Billy Beam. Embarrassed to Live BLue today!
January 31st, 2009 at 7:36 pm
One of my Basset Hounds hates it when I clean her ears and the other one loves it. They are both UK fans.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:36 pm
#19, actually the last 10 yrs of Uk basketball have been pretty damn disgusting and underachieving if you asked me. A storied program is reduced to nothing more than just an average team that can’t even win on it’s home court in front of 24,000 fans. Is that a joke or what??
January 31st, 2009 at 7:38 pm
I love the whiny ass UK fans. Jump ship Morons jump ship. lol lol lol lol lol
January 31st, 2009 at 7:39 pm
UK fans have no marbles, if you guys have a better plan than sticking with BCG then let’s hear it. As far as I can see realeasing him would send this program into a tailspin. When the going gets tough and UK fans start jumping ship. Have some backbone and support the team instead of being fairweather fans
January 31st, 2009 at 7:40 pm
Didn’t watch the game today, glad I didn’t.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:42 pm
19 you aren’t really Living Blue at all
January 31st, 2009 at 7:46 pm
We got punked by Downey, he did whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. It is my belief that any team that has a quick, penetrating point guard can take us just about every time. That’s the problem when you build a “Long, Athletic” team with very little quickness. We sagged off Downey 8 feet today, and he still went around our defenders like they were wading thru $hit with snow shoes on. Bad,Bad,Bad. You got to have a quick pointguard.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:49 pm
I guess Billy G won’t be blogging with us again next week. What about the chances Matty Poo?
January 31st, 2009 at 7:50 pm
I’m not calling for Billy’s head, but I am confused about his game plan. He made some really stupid mistakes and he doesn’t push the issue with rebounding. I don’t know why Billy didn’t call a time out when SC was making their run in the second half to try to adjust and stop it. Billy has a big bench, why doesn’t he try to use it to see what combination will work for that game?
I’m going to give Billy a few more years, but always remember the program comes first over any coach. As a fan, I want answers and see the coach fix the problems. I’ve got neither.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:57 pm
What kills me is all you punk a$$ “supposed” Kentucky Basketball fans!
No wonder we have a bad name, nationally, cuz you morons make us look bad.
If there’s any time that your team needs you to support them the most, it’s when they are down. If you can’t be there for your team and support them (players & coaches), even after a loss, then don’t be there for them at all! Go be UofL fans, you’d fit right in.
I can’t stand you sorry dumba$$ idiots!
GO BIG BLUE!
January 31st, 2009 at 7:58 pm
#29 I believe you are incorrect.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:00 pm
#30 then I believe you are one of the punk a$$ fans I’m talking about!
January 31st, 2009 at 8:01 pm
Anybody else thnk that Miller looked really good during that short stink of playing point in the 2nd half? He got into the lane twice in a row without being touched. Poor Porter just don’t have the tools, and I am not at all sold on Liggins. He plays too upright, and seems to do what he wants, like dribbling down the court and Jacking upa 24 footer about 10 seconds into the shot clock, after Billy Clyde spent the entire week talking about the very same thing.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:04 pm
well id like to say that the first half we looked like a team that had potential, we actually used more than 6 players and w/o jodie we still had the lead. second half we went back to typical billy ball and he stuck with the same lineup other than just a few minutes. maybe not why we lost cus we did have a good lead in the late part of the second half and blew it…but just a concern that i have. still have hope for these cats, but truthfully i see possibly 4 more losses, and a 10 loss sec team really shouldnt be in the tournament. just my opinion
January 31st, 2009 at 8:09 pm
Seriously……..i called the play SC was going to run…Why let their best player beat us!!! Piss Poor defense…. make him give the damn ball up! That was a bad coaching job!
January 31st, 2009 at 8:10 pm
Liggins took too many ill advised shots. If he cannot play as he is instructed sit his ass down!
January 31st, 2009 at 8:11 pm
UK basketball is such an embarrassing thing to think about. an all time low we have sunk to and things don’t look very good for the near future. we get owned all across the board. very little talent is on this squad but coach isn’t doing a very good job at all. he’s been such a huge let down it’s not even funny. cupcake schedule and we’re still getting our asses kicked pretty easily; at home and on the road. bring on football season. slowly but surely i can see UK basketball just fading away and why shouldn’t it? it’s just such a joke to even think about at this point. what a horrible example of basketball we are now…jesus, just such a frigg’n joke. pathetic.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:12 pm
All I’ll say is the game should’ve never been close enough to end up in that situation. I love all the players, but i’m just hopin we don’t have a 4th straight season with double-digit losses, and now it looks like it’s possibly headed that way.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:15 pm
#32 I agree Miller did handle that role pretty well. Of course I don’t think he had a guard on him did he? Doesn’t matter though. If we played Meeks, Liggins and Miller along with Perry and Patrick then one of those 3 is probably not going to be defended by a guard maybe go with the match up as to who brings it up.
I really think today a major turning point was Perry getting his 4th foul. We were in control at that point and the relationship between him and Patterson flows so well. They were dishing to one another. That got disrupted and then you have a nearly 5 minute streak with no FG. When you bring Perry back we are down 3 or 5 and it’s catch up time.
If we protect it like we did against Ole Miss we win easy….very frustrating.
BTW - BTI, couldn’t have said it better myself….those that disagree are those that were all over the same guys they are no downgrading a week ago. Criticism is one thing but saying stuff behind the curtain we call the internet is embarrassing. Not one of them have the testicular fortitude to say those things in ear shot distant of any of the players. Those hidden ‘fans’ are what give UK a bad rep.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:17 pm
BCG is a good, down home guy but he has questionable coaching techniques. Also, please don’t embarrass us in the media anymore. We need good PR, not more negativity…
January 31st, 2009 at 8:17 pm
#36 All time low??? I guess you weren’t a live and following the Cats when Eddie was around. We haven’t gotten to an all time low until we have a season worse than 13-19.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:21 pm
I agree some of these people are kids who don’t know how bad things were…this is just a dip in the road, but damn it hurts.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:21 pm
It’s funny how we are what? 16-6? or somethin like that but yet from the way you pathetic so called fans act, we are 6-16. You guys are truly sad.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:28 pm
we are a horrible basketball team. there’s no denying that fact. outcoached, out hustled, out played, out smarted…out “everything’d” basically. zero point guard. next year when uofl beats us that will be 3 in a row. and we’ll still have people making excuses as to why we lost and how we’re “still kentucky” ..how pitiful these people are that cannot see what is happening and how awful we are…it’s called reality.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:29 pm
Spot on 29. A TRUE fan supports EVERY player through the good and bad.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:32 pm
When you grow up seeing only the late 90’s teams that is your back ground. But when you grow up seeing a title then rough times only to see titles again you appreciate things more and you realize that even the best teams sometimes faultier. Should we ever lose to USC at home? No. We should never lose at home as far as I am concerned but I realize that isn’t going to happen. But the likely hood of us losing at home would go way down if the sit on your hands fans would move up in the seats.
You go back and look at some of the games from the 70’s and 80’s…the student section used to be a whole lot closer than it is now. Oh how I wish we would play 2 or 3 BIG games a year at Memorial and let mostly students into the game. I would be to our advantage just like Cameron for the Blue Devils.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:33 pm
Some of you talking about punching players and trashing the players need to put on the red and black and don’t come back when we are back, and by the way don’t you know that some of the players and their parents read this site
January 31st, 2009 at 8:34 pm
What I don’t understand is how anyone could say Perry Stevenson had a bad game, that is just dumb. He played good and he has been for awhile now.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:35 pm
i thought i was the only one that noticed the 73 streak……i commented about it yesterday…..lol……glad im not the only one with too much time on my hands
January 31st, 2009 at 8:46 pm
I really don’t want to sound like an irrational/reactionist fan but I have to raise this one point. Has anyone noticed BCG’s new trend of taking Meeks out in the last 3 minutes of the game? What could possibly be his rationale for doing this? He has done this the last couple of games. In the game today he replaced Meeks for Harris with about 2 minutes left. Downey then crossed Harris over and made an amazing 3 pointer. That’s fine. No one alive could have stopped that shot. The problem is we come back on the offensive end, in a critical part of the game, and our best player is on the bench. So of course today we looked lost and somebody threw up some crazy shot and SC got the ball back.
To take out your All American candidate with less than 3 minutes left in a close game is just a bizarre strategy…….
January 31st, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Hey guys lets face it your fans suck! You are only fans when thing are going good! You all are a bunch of Pu**ys!
January 31st, 2009 at 8:52 pm
This loss is simple to explain: poor offensive rebounding, partly because too many guys are going for blocks, and too many turnovers.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:53 pm
49- I think Meeks might have had 3 or 4 fouls, it was probably so he wouldn’t pick up a foul.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:54 pm
I meant poor defensive rebounding.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:54 pm
#50 was probably a Kentucky fan at 3 today, seein as though this is the first time i’ve seen him on here.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:55 pm
Hey you bunch of traitor punks jump on the Louisville bandwagon. All aboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 31st, 2009 at 8:57 pm
It’s obvious who PitinoRulz is…….he is still using those childish LOL comments. Another example of someone changing their name and hiding behind the comfort of their computer. No balls dude!
January 31st, 2009 at 9:01 pm
56- i couldn’t agree more…he has run back to Ricky P. after the cats lost 2 games.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:02 pm
56) Who am I then! I am sick and tired of hearing how big and great UK fans are and then you guys lose one game and you start jumping ship. Bunch of Dumb ass Hillbilly’s. Sad part is my son is a damn Cat fan. Well at least he did not jump ship like the rest of you whiny ass cat fans.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:06 pm

January 31st, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Some of you all freakin suck. Calling yourself cat fans, HA! Bunch of phony cat fans in my opinion. Stay off the ship idiots, we don’t want you anymore.
GO CATS!
January 31st, 2009 at 9:15 pm
Ok. We out rebounded them. We shoot over 50% from the field and had a great percentage from the line. BUT once again we had 21 turnovers. Patrick and Jodie combined for 48 points I think and the other three starters had 10. Lets call this what it really is even though we have two sure fire NBA players…this is part of the rebuilding process. Anything that thought we were going to win the title this year was sadly mistaken. I am not happy about the lose at all but it takes time to get player and get them into the system. IF we can keep Patrick and Jodie next year along with Orton and Hood coming in things will be much better. At least with those two coming in we will have more scoring options. That is assuming the Big Two come back. (GOD, I hope)
January 31st, 2009 at 9:20 pm
I am a Harrellson fan. He got 5 points and 3 rebounds in 4 minutes. I feel sorry for him. He would play 30+ minutes and score 15+ ppg in St Louis. He is wasting his time here on the bench.
Meeks can’t guard anyone. He was on Downey for his last scores.
How many teams can UK beat with 21 turnovers, giving up 18 offensive rebounds, and letting the other team shoot 28 more shots? The answer, NONE.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:22 pm
I think part of our problem on the boards is that Patterson and Stevenson tend to go for the same shot block. If they don’t get it, then that leaves the other half of the basket open for a rebound and/or easy put back. I think they have to learn to let one go for the block while the other boxes out.
Liggins’ problem is he tends to want to be the man too much. Ever notice how he plays fine if we’re winning 4 or more or down by 4 or more? But the moment we’re within 3 points either way, he starts taking ill-advised shots. It’s like he wants to be the one who “shoots for the lead” or the one who “shot the dagger.” In the Ole Miss game he did the same thing. We got with in 2 or 3, and he tossed up a 3 in transition.
And can someone please remind him he shoots 18% beyond the arc.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:22 pm
Harrellson would be a heck of a player if he played more, he’s instant offense.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:25 pm
65. Yeah, Harrellson is instant offense . . .on both sides of the ball.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:25 pm
65) Your a moron!
January 31st, 2009 at 9:28 pm
Pattersons FACEBOOK Status!
Patterson ..Ha aint dis some shit..
January 31st, 2009 at 9:35 pm
Harrellson would be better but he can’t get the minutes to prove himself. He’s a load inside and can bang with the best of em’.
That’s what she said.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:35 pm
See the half-assed line beard on Calathes. Me thinks he’s a Turdinal wannabe.

71) I can’t get enough of his commercials. Pintoes cause farts. Farts are funny.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:38 pm
We have to admit that it’s going to be 2-3 more years before the pond is restocked with talent to compete at a top 25 level. Here is the Rivals.com ranking for those that saw action today with the caveat that good (not great) high school players can and do develop into great college players (i.e. Harangody, Curry, Lofton)
Patterson - 5 star
Meeks - 4
Stevenson - 4
Harris - 3
Porter - 2
Liggins - 4
Miller - 4
Harrelson - 3
Galloway - 3
Stewart - 3
Some might argue that our Rivals.com ranking does not look THAT bad but consider this:
Each year there are 25, 5 star recruits and 75, 4 star recruits.
So, if no one turns pro or drops out of college (and we know this is a false assumption), there would be 400 4+ star players on D-1 rosters right?
Well, let’s just conservatively assume that there are only 300 former 5-star or 4-star recruits on college rosters.
Every team (327 D-1) should have on average 1, 4+ star recruit.
BUT, if you say there are ~75 schools from BCS conferences, each of those teams should have 4.
BUT, if you say that the top 40 schools should get most of the top recruits, there should be 7-8 on every roster. I don’t have the time to figure out what the rosters look like at the top 10 schools right now but I’m certain they have much more talent based on Rivals.com rankings.
You get my point. OUR roster is extremely talent depleted and especially where it matters most, guards. It’s STILL the achilles heel of this team. Miller and Liggins will be very good players for us as long as the coaches and fans show the patience necessary to start to develop talent around here for the first time since the mid-90’s.
How much better would we be with a good AND experienced PG? Just stay in the SEC - would you take Downey, Beal or Fortson.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:42 pm
73) Your a moron!
January 31st, 2009 at 9:43 pm
Good post, 73.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:43 pm
69- yeah i was called a moron for sayin that about Harrellson.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:44 pm
As a member of the grammar police, I would like to point out to PitinoRulz that “Your a moron” is incorrect. You’re a moron. See, that’s better.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:44 pm
76) Your a moron!
January 31st, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Sorry Whiny UK fans but I must go. All of the whine is getting me drunk. See ya whiner’s.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:48 pm
God. Did you see the Rasor today. God, his shorts, err, i mean his jumper looked so tight. Oh man, did you see him fall over and expose himself, errr, give the ball to the other team. Jesus Christ i love it when stuffs me, errr, the ball into the rim. He was the player ofthe game n doubt.
Just thought I would get the obligatory man cruch Rasor post out of the way.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:49 pm
PitinoRulz you are pathetic, and are you screamin at your screen with all these exclamation points you’re usin?
January 31st, 2009 at 9:50 pm
That’s better. Once you start your upper level English classes at U of L, you’ll be able to read books without pictures and you’ll be a nerd too!
January 31st, 2009 at 9:55 pm
82)Your a moron! Good nite.
83) Get a life dude! Saturday nite and your worried about someones grammar. Can u say Nerd! Now seriously I have to go. Have a great nite. 83) Wash your hand when u are done. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL! Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ya
January 31st, 2009 at 9:55 pm
I have been a UK fan since before I came out of the womb, but i have to agree with 80, good lord quit whining, you would think we were in 5th or 6th place in the SEC east, South Carolina is not a bad team, and we got hit by two guards that shot lights out today….even when we were defending them well. There is so much parity in the SEC this year that any team can beat anybody on any given night on any given floor. RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We still have 9 more SEC games, look at it objectively, all we need to do is focus on the defensive boards, bc the second chance points were ridiculous today, and more consistent guard play….maybe kevin galloway should get more PT, IDK, but we have a lot of things going right.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:55 pm
PitinoRulz is on his knees right now in front of Pitino
January 31st, 2009 at 9:56 pm
Just watched the finish of the Va Tech/Boston College game. Felt like I was watching a UK game. Va Tech player turned to watch the shot instead of blocking his man out.
You guessed it. His man got the rebound and put back. Reminiscent of any recent UK game. No blocking out.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:57 pm
PitinoRulz (aka LouisvilleFanCraig), you’ve never made one post with any basketball insight. Can you excite us by writing ANYTHING but personal comments like “you’re a moron”, “you suck”, “your coach sucks” or “UK sucks.”? At least talk about dynamic defense strategies, ball screens or tempo drivers. I’m certain that the reason you are on an opposing teams site is because you wouldn’t get ANY reaction from your posts on your own teams site. Go to bed loser.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:57 pm
How tired is everyone hearing, “Relax, we just had a couple of guards or team shoot the lights out tonight?” Becoming quite a trend don’t you think?? People??
January 31st, 2009 at 9:59 pm
I will also say this…IF we lose Tuesday and I think there is a good shot that we will, things look dim for the tourney…how quickly things can change.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:00 pm
It’s “You’re a moron” not “Your a moron”. If you are going to call people morons, at least use the correct grammar.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:03 pm
Im tired of alot of things. I just dont see any reason why we need to pressure guys so far from the basket when WE KNOW THEY ARE QUICKER THAN US> Why not stand our heels on the three point line?? The court is shorter and we use our length to our advantage. We always go below screens and give up open looks. We help too early. I wish coach would adjust his d A LITTLE based on who we play and what guys we have out there. I thought he did this against Tenn but havent seen it since.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:04 pm
89) I agree and that’s the REAL common thread in our losses. Scoring 73 or more sort of goes without saying. Scoring 73 or more is a symptom of the problem, bad guard play. Good guards will beat this team every time. That is the key to turning this around and I’d rather see Miller, Liggins and Galloway getting 20-30 min a game while taking their lumps.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:10 pm
The Vols are thrashing the Gators… they were up 23 a minute ago…
January 31st, 2009 at 10:11 pm
BCG’s nickname should be BCC for Billy Can’t Coach.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:14 pm
Matt Jones, how silly do you feel about your 13-3 prediction now? I think 10-6 is more reasonable…and I say that with all due respect my friend. Mark it, we lose Tuesday and you think the message boards are negative now, wait a few days.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:15 pm
95) Explain why you say that. Give us some color on your bold comment.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Watching a replay of the game from 11 minutes to go in the second half. Porter falls down and loses the ball, Patterson throws the ball to NO ONE. Meeks get stripped at midcourt. Liggins carries the ball twice on first and ten but fumbles twice. Whoever Meeks is guarding has acored 6 points in under 2 minutes.
Downey schools Liggins and passes to Holmes for a layup and foul. Liggins comes down and throws up a brick with Meeks open in the left corner. BCG takes Liggins out. 6:39 to go. 66-64.
Meeks fouls Downey; might as well since he can’t guard him. Downey misses FT.
Meeks fouled from behind but no call. Miller drives to within 3 feet of basket and throws ball away. Shoot the ball!!!!! 66-66, 4:21.
Downey schools Harris for 3.
Meeks for an almost dunk and foul for 3. 71-69 with 2:37.
Downey for 3 over Meeks. Meeks man has scored 9 points in the last 8 minutes.
Tape ran out, but you know the rest.
Harrellson did not play in the second half after getting 5 points and 3 rebounds in 4 minutes in the first half.

95, yeah he can’t coach, he has just resurrected two programs before he got here. UT is killing UF, we are still going to be tied for 2nd when the all the dust settles….a lot of basketball to still be played.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Vitale just said there is not a team in the SEC that could finish in the
top 8 of the Big East.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:18 pm
I’m sure this has been addressed before, but I’m tired of searching for the answer. Kentucky has currently alotted the maximum # of scholarships for this season (including Pilgrim). With only Jared Carter losing his scholarship next year, how will KY accomodate for Orton, Hood, GJ, and possibly one more unsigned recruit?
And just a side note, I’m not already looking towards next year, this topic just happened to come up in a conversation with my daddy…I mean father.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:20 pm
If Vitale knew so much then he would be a Hall of Fame coach.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:24 pm
101)I know your worry their, but I figure the staff has it figured out.
If meeks leaves, what is next year’s potential. I’m sick of only having one or two guys that can shoot it. For once I want to put 4 guys on the floor or at least 3 who can shoot the rock. I’m just asking for 35% or better from 3. That’s not even that great.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:25 pm
101) 13 schollies. There will have to be transfers or some that pay their own way.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:27 pm
Two in a row sucks ass and I am disgusted as well. However, I am a diehard fan and refuse to give up on our team. Have a little faith, they will bounce back from this loss and get better.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:28 pm
Regardless of whether he’s right about that or not - I think not - you’d never hear any announcer say it if the ACC was down.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:30 pm
why do we even care what vitale says…
January 31st, 2009 at 10:36 pm
I love how people are in love with Vitale when he puts us in his top 25 with quotes such as “I honestly don’t mind him, he isn’t biased in my opinion and tells it like it is.” but when he bashes or puts Kentucky down somehow people make him seem like the Antichrist.
Not saying anyone who has bashed him has said things like this, just a little funny how quick people forget.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:36 pm
I’m sure over half of the coaches in the country think Vitale is an idiot and they really don’t like him.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Deandre Liggins stats for the last two games (losses):
5-23 from the field (2-9 from 3pt range), 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 turnovers, 2 steals, 2 blocks
This is the problem and I’m not sure if it can be fixed. I don’t believe Liggins is the difference maker we thought he would be. In time, he will be a solid player for the Cats… Just not THIS season.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:38 pm
i’m pretty sure anyone not name krschaljdlajfjladlfjldski or williams doesn’t like him
January 31st, 2009 at 10:40 pm
I don’t agree with it becoming a running talking point though. Why keep saying that?
January 31st, 2009 at 10:41 pm
Do we still have a decent shot at Harrison Barnes in 2010? That is the kind of kid that would really help our perimiter. We need guys who can shoot. Abunch of athletic 6-6 and 6-7 guys aren’t worth crap if they can’t put the ball in the hoop. Here’s to hoping PPat and Meeks stick around and put together a really good team to put the Cats truly back on the map next year.

113- iono about Barnes but i’ve been hearin that Jelan Kendrick is uppin his interest in us, he’s a heck of a player in the 2010 class, he’s ranked in the 20’s. He’s a Georgia kid.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:45 pm
110)He’ll get it eventually (hopefully this year.) I just wish he would realize that he is not a 3 point shooter. Shoot it when it’s in rhythm, but when it’s forced or dared, don’t do it. There are better shots to be had than a Liggins 3. That being said, I’ve seen the kid shoot in pickup games and during warmups and he can shoot it. Maybe he’ll find his stroke. Could he be a Derrick Jasper type and find it during his sophomore or junior year and become a 3 point threat.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:47 pm
115)I saw that too about that Kendrick kid. What kind of player is he. Attacker, shooter….?
January 31st, 2009 at 10:49 pm
117- all around wing player, real athletic too.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:57 pm
too much criticism way too fast for Gillespie…
has yet to complete two seasons; give the man at least 3-4 seasons to get his players here and develop them to fit his system correctly
January 31st, 2009 at 11:00 pm
Unfortunately, our turnover demons reappeared today, and for the second straight game, we got killed on the glass.

119- agree totally. If Brooks was fired after his second season then UK football would have continued to be the laughing stock of the SEC. He created a winning atmosphere and BCG will definately do the same
January 31st, 2009 at 11:01 pm
UT just finished off UF, so that was a big help
January 31st, 2009 at 11:02 pm
119)I agree. He has two good players and a decent set of freshmen. I like the toughness of his teams. Everyone sit back and watch, this team is tough and will bounce back when many would fold. Win these next two and things brighten up.

#122–yes, a big help for the Vols
The SEC East is wide open!
January 31st, 2009 at 11:07 pm
Anyone know if Billy said “We just got whipped” in the post game?
January 31st, 2009 at 11:09 pm
124- but we’re gonna beat ya again macon. lol i didn’t watch it, how bad did Florida look?
January 31st, 2009 at 11:12 pm
I swear you dumb sobs give most of us true blue kentucky fans a bad name. This team will be fine when it comes time to count. If we all get behind our time maybe Meeks and Patterson will stay and we will be stacked next year. Yea Billy G is a an ass but Rupp was too and look where that got him. Five national championships! So if you people dont like whats going on. Go cheer for somebody else! We wont miss you when we win our 8th national championship and be the first to 2000 wins. Go jump off a cliff you inbreed redneck dumbazzes.
January 31st, 2009 at 11:13 pm
127) Settle down Beavis.
January 31st, 2009 at 11:17 pm
125 I think he said we got whipped on the boards, but i never heard him say we just got whipped
January 31st, 2009 at 11:24 pm
#126–UF looked BAD in the first half and for about 1/3 of the 2nd half. UT got sloppy from about 11:00-5:00 in the 2nd half, but held the lead above 10 the entire time. UT led by as many as 23 in the 2nd. Hopson had a big game. UT hit 12 (I think) 3’s in the game, which was a huge factor. UF played zone almost the entire game, and UT hit the shots. If they miss, it’s a MUCH different game.
Will it be a turning point for the Vols? Who knows? But the LSU loss on Wednesday looms LARGE now. I always said UT/UK would battle for the E1, now it looks like USC/UK/UF/UT will be battling for the Thursday bye. I like it like this. More fun and interesting!
January 31st, 2009 at 11:37 pm
we are tied for first with an unproven Florida team who has yet to be tested.
i like our chances in the SEC; how we respond against Miss St then Florida will most likely determine how we fare.
if we play up to our potential, we win both. and begin to take control of the SEC
January 31st, 2009 at 11:42 pm
I’d argue that UF was tested tonight #131—and they flunked.
January 31st, 2009 at 11:43 pm
132 So is Hopson getting it together?
January 31st, 2009 at 11:52 pm
He played much more in control tonight, and actually made a good decision or two. Nailed some big threes. Took a Hodge elbow to the nose. He also, ahem, air balled yet another free throw. You can’t ask for everything to be perfect though, right?
January 31st, 2009 at 11:57 pm
He puts so much arc on his shot, it looks like he’s trying to bring down rain…
February 1st, 2009 at 12:26 am
UK still is in decent position to win the east. We can’t forget that UF and UT are just as likely as us to loose some more games.
February 1st, 2009 at 10:22 pm
127 Hey Einstein its time to count now. How do you think you put yourself in position to make a run in March. Its not by piling up the losses against teams you should beat especially at home. But I guess you are satisfied with one and done in March. What everyone needs to look at is the way this team loses and the teams we lose to. How do you take UL to the wire and Ole Miss with a guy playing the PG spot for a week and get beat in every aspect of the game.
February 1st, 2009 at 10:41 pm
132 So did UK
