They deserve it. Probably the biggest win in their history. It’s embarrassing that KSR shop promoted the “we don’t rebuild, we reload shirt” earlier today.
Still pissed that we enabled them to embarrass us, but they simply wanted it more than we did, and since they left reference to UK off the tee, I think it is tastefully done and congratulate them as well.
Well, they earned it. And it’s the biggest win in their history. Should we be mad that they look at a win over our team in a year when we were unranked as the biggest win in their history? Absolutely not. Let them have it. And congrats to them. Too bad we don’t get to play them next season.
Cal or KSR should order one for our entire roster that played in that game and make them wear them to every workout and practice this summer! Is kinda of a cool shirt. good for them!
15) I wouldn’t mind if they did get rings, make popcorn boxes or crappy paintings. They earned it. They’re not required to act like they’ve been there before because they haven’t. Now, when some egotistic team (looking at you IU) does it, it’s just ridiculous.
The censoring of the comments section is getting out of control these days. If you criticize anything about ksr your comment gets removed. If there is no profanity or derogatory language what is wrong with saying that shirt is better than most of the garbage in the ksr shop? Because it’s true? I guess # 7 will get removed too for saying the ksr shop should be embarrased to promote that terrible “we don’t rebuild, we reload” shirt earlier. Learn to take a little criticism.
Love or CATS, but man for man, hardly an upset. Programs don’t play programs. Teams pay other teams. But yea like #1 said, they deserve their moment in the sun. Enjoy RMU!
Oh, why yes, that is a great looking shirt…..for me to poop on! In all honesty though, it is a nice looking shirt. Shouldn’t it say “Upset Township” though.
15, 23: Plus RMU’s win over UK was a post-season TOURNAMENT win. Not a meaningless one-point regular season win. They have every reason to commemorate their first national tournament win.
After thinking about it for awhile what RMU did was Euthanasia. Even had we won the NIT banner it wouldn’t be hanging in the rafters at Rupp. They pulled the plug and we let go of the rope. It meant more to them then it did to us. Time to reflect and turn the page.
i”m like everyone else here i want kentucky to play them next year. first game of the season at rupp and i do not want them to fold and freeze up i mean a couple of blocks from randle is not going to scare them is it? and here’s three in you’re eye from one of the harrison twins. by the way did anyone hear silva say they
are glad kentucky in not in the tourney at rupp because they would get beat my goodness cannot wait till next season GO CATS
The only horse to win a race over Man o’ War was appropriately named Upset in the Sanford Stakes at Saratoga in Man o’ War’s 2-year-old year. Every other time they faced each other Man o’ War easily won. Accounts of the race indicate that Man o’ War carried 130 pounds to Upsets 115 (no 2yo would ever carry 130 pounds anymore, older horses don’t usually either). Man o’ War was facing the opposite direction when the starter (possibly a relative of Doug Shows?) lifted the barrier (they didn’t have starting gates back then) and he started out 4 lengths behind at the beginning of the race. He faced traffic problems throughout the race, got shut off on the rail and had to swing wide down the stretch to make his run to try and catch Upset, which he almost did, losing by less than 1/2 length. It was the one race in which he could not overcome every obstacle he faced and he was one of the greatest race horses of all time. We didn’t have any Man o’ Wars on our team this year. Polson has the heart of a Man o’ War, but not the physical talent. Wiltjer is a late bloomer more suited to running as a 4 or 5-year-old when his body matures. Our young 2-year-old colts all showed promise but were erratic and need to develop into solid Grade I performers. Our star of the stable, Nerlens, we lost to injury, but he proved he has the heart of a Thoroughbred and will be a Grade I winner wherever he goes. Ryan is the kind of colt that gives his trainer grey hair and ulcers. He has talent but won’t go through a small opening on the rail or between two horses. Unless he has clear sailing he won’t give his best effort.
The good news is our yearlings look to be world beaters. There won’t be any Upsets like Robert Morris next year.
From here, it would be ironic if UK had a #1 seed in next years tournament and the #16 seed would be Robert Morris.
Kudos for what RMU accomplished this year.
I agree with # 16, let’s play them again next year, they really think they beat Kentucky. They won the game, but they came a long way from beating the real Kentucky.
It’s actually kinda nice to be able to relax…no pressure. Imagine the pressure on Louisville, and the pressure their fans feel. We went thru it last year, once the game was over, it was great, but going into the game, your stomach is in a knot.
It’s also nice knowing that we did it last year, we reached our goal.. Louisville hasn’t done squat yet.
#41 In your analogy, wouldn’t Cal have had to put Nerlens down when he hurt his knee? Come to think of it, the whole team should have been taken out behind Thompson Boling Arena after the 30 point beat down to UT and been put out of its collective misery. Also, I beg to differ….Wiltjer is a plow horse, harrow was lame, and Polson a nag (but yeah, a nag with heart).
Let’s go back and play them in December,in their highschool gym…. then they can use those t-shirts to hide their heads. Yea they earned their shirt , we sure didn’t play to win. GO CATS!!
Aren’t you cute. Not. Tendon injuries do not require putting a horse down. Even way back in 1940 Seabiscuit came back after bowing a tendon to be break a track record in the San Antonio Handicap and win the Santa Anita Handicap. He retired as the top money winning horse up to that time. So know what you are talking about before you spout off. If you think Harrow was lame in the physical sense he was not. His problems are not physical. Wiltjer is not built to be a plow horse and Polson could outplay you every day of the week so what does that make you, a donkey or a jackass?
That’s rich coming from the fan base that owns tshirt making. Why don’t you make another about beating a Tennessee team with a losing record when you have a losing record too.
Funny thing to me is that it was not an upset. I posted Sunday night it will be the biggest win in history of RMU. The fact vegas opened us at like a 6 point fave is all u need to know. Maybe it was an upset in we were the fave by 6 to 4.5 but not an upset city. Congrats to RMU and I will cheer for them to win the NIT.
Why are people saying they did not beat the real UK. YES they did. That is what we {Cal} put on the court this year. How bout that coaching job, go from nearly beating Duke in game 2 and improving all the way to losing to RMU in last game. Course we had the great games vs Tenn, Baylor, Tex AM, UGS and Vandy mixed in. Fact is this team did not get better and that is the coaching staffs fault.
#50 you are a clown….the whole red planet plays the “T-shirt schtick” on UK fans. Then out of the other side of their mouth is ” Its a white out…Its a Red out ..its a Black out..go to Kroger to buy em” what was it tonight a White out?
Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. However
think about if you added some great graphics or videos to give your posts
more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this website could
undeniably be one of the best in its niche.
Amazing blog!

RMU deserves their moment in the sun. Like Coach Cal, I would have been ashamed had Wiltjer’s three gone in.
March 21st, 2013 at 1:32 pm
They make good tee-shirts. I would like to have one. #1 in making tee-shirts!!!
March 21st, 2013 at 1:35 pm
This is the most tasteful and well done “upset” t shirt I’ve ever seen, congrats Robert Morris
March 21st, 2013 at 1:37 pm
When did we play Robert Morris?
March 21st, 2013 at 1:38 pm
The other side says “CHAT – Coat Hang A Cat!!!”
March 21st, 2013 at 1:39 pm
Kudos to Robert Morris. They whipped our asses.
March 21st, 2013 at 1:40 pm
They deserve it. Probably the biggest win in their history. It’s embarrassing that KSR shop promoted the “we don’t rebuild, we reload shirt” earlier today.
March 21st, 2013 at 1:41 pm
Schedule a game at their place next year..
March 21st, 2013 at 1:41 pm

Props where props are due. That shirt is like a friday paycheck – well earned.
March 21st, 2013 at 1:45 pm
I kind of want one. It would be nice to wear it during the tournament next year to appriciate it even more. And to say to the haters “Now What”?
March 21st, 2013 at 1:48 pm
Robert Morris is my new favorite team in the NEC. I can’t name any other teams in the NEC.
March 21st, 2013 at 1:49 pm
Question is this: Will they make rings, popcorn boxes, sh!tty paintings, and phonebooks commemorating the game?
March 21st, 2013 at 1:51 pm
We should add them to the schedule for next year…maybe for an exhibition game.
March 21st, 2013 at 1:51 pm
#11 That is a very good idea..
March 21st, 2013 at 1:52 pm
15- probably.
March 21st, 2013 at 1:53 pm
Cal should make the team go sign these shirts for RMU fans.
March 21st, 2013 at 1:55 pm
#11….agree 100%! Awesome idea!
March 21st, 2013 at 1:55 pm
I like that idea #11 except it should have the added text stating ” I went to RMU and got my ass kicked and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt.”
March 21st, 2013 at 1:57 pm
haha, those are cool.
March 21st, 2013 at 2:04 pm

25. Yep it happened while I was typing that.
March 21st, 2013 at 2:08 pm
No WAIT! My comment made a glorious return and everything moved back up one. It’s a miracle.

I was going to type #3′s comment verbatim: classiest upset tee ever. I may get one as I appreciate their having ended our season.
March 21st, 2013 at 2:14 pm
#21 nails it!
March 21st, 2013 at 2:16 pm
I LIKE IT!! Cool shirt!

15….They have more CLASS than that.
Go James (HAPPY) Madison.
March 21st, 2013 at 2:23 pm
What are they so upset about?
March 21st, 2013 at 2:28 pm
Need to move on. Next year this will seem like Gardner Webb. Every great program goes through a series of low points.

I would actually like to have one of those. Someone said we should have them in opening game at Rupp next season, I think that is a great idea.

I know where there will be one RMU non-alum sporting one.
