Even with getting Randle, this has been the most depressing first day of the NCAA tournament that I can remember…even 2009 I filled out a ton of brackets and was pretty excited, but this year I’ve only filled out a few. My final four is Michigan State, Wisconsin, Florida, and Miami…yeah I’m probably going with what my heart says over my head… Also, have we still not heard from Jay? I think Jay’s friend who called was a friend of another Jay that calls…I wish atleast his friend would call back in to give us something…

Fritzy on the Dan Patrick show yesterday did a Mock Head Lines version of the UK loss to Robert Morris. It was slightly funny and at this point if I don’t laugh it off I’ll go crazy. Also Paul Pabst who produces the show told Fritzy to take it easy (which he did) with the Mock Head Lines because of the wrath of our UK fanbase.

#41 Check their roster. Duke bringing in 3 5 stars, have Quinn Cook as a JR, Amile Jefferson a SO, a soph Plumlee. They won’t be as good as us, but add those guys to Jabari Parker and the rest of the Duke class and they’ll be good next year.
I hate Duke, but they are going to be our closest competition next year.

The ALABAMA head coach came out in his press conference and said they were game planning to stop Kyle wiltjer. Wiltjer had his moments. The last 5 games of the year was rough for everyone. Kyles last 10 games were pretty poor though.

Matt, I’m as excited and giddy as anyone, but after this year, I have to temper my expectations just a little bit. The Fab Five is still remembered as up to this point the greatest team of freshmen ever, but they stayed for TWO YEARS and still did not bring home the hardware. LSU had quite a team with Shaq, Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts, but they never won the crown. It takes talent, but it also takes some luck, the right matchups, and probably some experience. I am REALLY looking forward to next year, but I am certainly not expecting 40-0. Don’t want to be set up for disappointment.

The reason some think Wiltjer should transfer is not because we don’t love Wiltjer, but because he’s in a serious logjam.
Next year I think Wiltjer is possibly the 5th or 6th big man.
Randle and WCS will start with Poythress coming in as a 3/4 sub and Lee coming in as a 4/5 sub. Dakari Johnson may even play over Wiltjer since he’s less of a liability so when is he going to see the floor?
The following year we will likely have Dakari Johnson and Marcus Lee with Karl Towns coming in and there’s zero chance Wiltjer plays over a sophmore Lee or a freshman Karl Towns. Karl Towns would obliterate Wiltjer TODAY.
That being said why would Wiltjer want to come back if he’s the 5th big man at best next year and the 3rd of 4th as a senior. He can go elsewhere and play in an offense that fits his style better and he can play 30 minutes a game.
I love Wiltjer but I’m talking about whats best for him.

Enough already on the Wiltjer rumors. There is NO WAY a player at this point in the season would know he is transferring. In order to be allowed to say anything more than “Hi” to another team’s coach you have to get a release from your current school. You seriously think they have been discussing that during the season and for long enough for Wiltjer to have discussed\been recruited by Mark Few? Secondly, Wiltjer’s sister is coming to UK next year to play volleyball. Yeah it makes sense that she would do that whilst he moves back to the west coast.

Also what he brings is shooting but with the offensive fire power we’ll have next year we won’t be desperate for another shooter, especially one that is a defensive liability. Lee and Randle are far superior on defense and Randle has a much better overall offensive game.

For the record I love Wiltjer and hope he returns so that we have an endless supply of weapons and the ability to have absurd practices I’m simply playing devil’s advocate in regards to what may be best for Kyle’s future.

Man when i called in and said I predict Harrow to transfer, Matt gave me a bunch of crap like”Id hate to see Harrow leave or even think about it,” like im a bad person. 2 days later he says he doesnt think Harrow will be back.
I think he likes to hear info wait on it check on it then wait long enough to act like it is his info originally.

Geographically, if you were to circle Lexington, Louisville, Bloomington and loop Cincinnati on the way back to Lexington, that is the winningest region in college basketball. 17 National Championships. Yet everyone talks about tobacco road as the pinnacle of college basketball. If you want teams to lose in the first round, root against teams from tobacco road. I happen to think the greatest rivalries in basketball come from our region and I want that to be apparent so go UofL and IU!
Oh and Ralph Sampson was the most dominant post player in the last 30 years.

320, glad it’s all so crystal clear for you finally. Not sure where you got I was “taking my ball home” but hey, spin it how ever you need to so you can feel good. I hate the fact you can’t see thru your blue kool-aid lenses to be logical about needing veteran players and it’s not going to happen totally on freshman alone.

322 – that is one of my points precisely, you can’t count the freshman to be anything other than freshman. IF they win it all on their own next year, i’d gladly say I was wrong about “only freshman winning”
It’s just unfair to expect that of them. That’s how we ended up losing to RMU in the NIT this season….mostly FRESHMAN playing and expected to carry the weight of the team and fans. It’s not fair to them…but hey, life isn’t fair is it, guess that’s the next thing you could throw out

I think Matt got it right today. Those guys couldnt handle pressure. If you cant handle presure dont come here. Next year is different these guys will embrace it like. MKG,Wal,Davis,Cousin Noel and Stein did a good job embracing I thought, maybe it wasnt fair to throw that up on those guys like you said. BUT If you cant handle it maybe its not for you. When DAVIS MKG WALL those guys embrace the pressure WELL WE END UP LOSING 3 GAMES THOSE SEASONS

303 – Are you serious? Ashley Judd has a Masters degree from Harvard. Many colleges would stand in line to hire her. With her humanitarian work she could head up any kind of foundation. Can you be as dumb as you sound or are you trying to make a political wisecrack that totally failed. I would imagine she has enough money saved up to completely retire if she wanted to, which I doubt because she has too much of a social conscience and desire to help others to not be active in some way.
