Archie says he doesn’t think anyone is ready to go pro

by @ 9:59 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

sad archie

At the end of the game, Archie Goodwin showed he was a true fighter, taking the team on his back and trying to carry them to the finish line. Afterwards, Archie said this of his late surge: “I just didn’t want our season to end.”

Archie may not want his college career to end either. He told reporters that he doesn’t think he’s ready to go pro. In fact, he said he doesn’t think anyone on the team is, and they should all come back:

“I don’t think it’s a question. I don’t think I’m ready. I don’t think any of us should leave.”

So, there’s that.

    Here come the haters…

  2. Aaron Says:

    Noel should

  3. UK Fan Says:

If they can buckle their asses down we could win every game next year.

  4. UKDMD Says:

Well… Unfortunately some of them NEED to leave. Both to make room and to not embarrass this program further.

  5. Jarrod Polson Says:

I’m going pro! I played like it tonight!

  6. grant Says:

    no, go to the nba

  7. Stumps Says:

Archie’s gonna kick ass next year. Still like the kid.

  8. Rae Says:

Aaron and James will have someone to practice against.

  9. joe Says:

Then come back and work your tail off and win a national championship and be a lottery pick.

  10. Tis True My Friends Says:

You know what, if you win a national championship, the next year is a freebee. True, this year was TOUGH… very tough.. but, the euphoria of last year is enough to carry over. Fight on, UK, next year is going to be amazing.

  11. Ron Says:

this has to go down as the worse team in UK history. No heart, can’t shoot, won’t work together, most over rated players ever recruited. They need to move on…..

  12. reasedru Says:

Im afraid its leave or sit the bench for most of these guys..

  13. Lpool03 Says:

Some may not need to go pro, but they do need to transfer. Poythress, Harrow and Wiltjer will never succeed under Cal.

  14. Jones Returns Says:

    Golly Gee Wizz… ya think?!?

  15. Cat in NC Says:

Well, Harrow needs to go somewhere.

    9. You idiot we can’t fire cal!
    Rinse and repeat.
I just saved you from the comment sections for the next day and a half.

  17. That Dude Says:

How soon til we get Travis Ford?

  18. Noel Says:

    I ‘m back! Let #BBN know.

  19. ribin Says:

I would have to agree with Archie — Noel will get a great contract — not sure about the others — need to get off the AAU circuit and into college game – with finite season and rewards.

  20. D Says:

He couldn’t be more right. He makes some awful mistakes but you have to give him credit for giving all he has.

  21. Kevin L Says:

Proud of Archie for showing heart tonight. He was the only one. I still say Cal should do what he did when he first got here and that is meet with some players and tell them they are better off elsewhere. My prediction… Harrow & Wilcher are gone… maybe Poythress too. Stein and Noel go pro.

  22. Computer Blue Says:

The unnamed guys that Cal, Mays, and Willie said never bought in need to go. They probably won’t make the NBA but they don’t need to be here.

  23. B.K. Says:

I think there’s too much emotion in these circumstances to truly assess anything. But as for me, I hope all these guys do come back and write a new chapter. With the recruits that we already have on tap I think that it could be a very deep and balanced team. The only guy that I hope leaves is Ryan Harrow. He just doesn’t belong on this team or in a Kentucky uniform. Archie proved tonight that he has the guts, and I think that Poythress could really grow when there is someone else to replace him that’s better. SO PLEASE COME BACK GUYS AND LET’S WRITE A NEW CHAPTER!

  24. bsquared Says:

Man WCS really frustrated me tonight…he would just stand there flat footed and not jump….on one play late in the second half he stepped out of the way and let the RMU player blow by him

  25. art vandalay Says:

Several of our guys do have the physical tools…. no one can make a non-trollish argument that they don’t, but this season has proven time and time again that they really have to have another year to mature and learn or else they would be facing tough times and years in the D league.

    Except for Nerlens.

Now back to your regularly scheduled 13 year old making incredibly fairly lame and never clever troll posts.

  26. BlueTexan Says:

    “Feels” like the BCG years.

  27. London Says:

I love Archie goodwin and I’m glad he said this. He will get playing time next year I can guarantee that.

  28. Lexington Conception Says:

These guys obviously need at least another year of college and we need a new PG. 13 – I still think Poythress and Wiltjer can succeed when they are not the focus.

  29. WCS Says:

Out of here BBN. Going to NFL.

  30. NOTAIDIOT Says:

Chill on Archie. Without him we lose this game by 15. He will be ready next year.

  31. Catfan1 Says:

Was the play for wilt to take the final shot?

  32. DribbleBucket Says:

Polson showed heart and will to win, Goodwin showed up at the end of the game….that’s about it. Glad it’s over. Any take on Randle? Felt good about him earlier, now not so sure..

  33. archie Says:

archie left it on the floor tonight, no doubt about that tonight

  34. Thanks for your effort, Archie Says:

Come on back, kid. You still had a few out of control moments tonight, but I’ll take you as a Wildcat. Feel bad for Harrow…he’s gone. Casualty of what big time pressure can do to a kid not ready for it. Not totally his fault, as I wonder how many kids REALLY know what they’re in for when coming here. WCS also played weaker tonight than I thought. Nice heart from Hood and Polson, though.

  35. Sweet Wm Says:

All should come back and see who will make the team or get cut.

  36. Bluekzu Says:

    10. I like how you think.

  37. Run fat boy run Says:

    16. Classic. Dang I love the enthusiasm Bobby Knight brings to the table when calling a game. I get him and Dickie V confused, hard to tell them apart.

  38. dribble drive high five Says:

The stupidity of these comments both angers and fascinates me.

  39. haters Says:

If you can’t love them when they are down, you don’t deserve to when they are up. Tough season next year should be great. #startedfromthebottom

  40. bsquared Says:

This wasnt the season for us…you had Harrow basically quitting in the begging of the season so we had to try to figure out our personnel…then WCS got hurt and we have to re-evaluate our game plan…then we we got rolling noel got hurt…so it really wasnt in the cards for us.

  41. Mike Says:

Welcome home Cal….any intentions of staying??

  42. Ruppeat Offender Says:

I’ve never been so embarrassed to be a UK fan as I am right now. We’re the laughing stock of D1 basketball tonight. I was not as embarrassed when Dewayne Casey/Eddie Sutton screwed us. I was not as embarrassed when Billy Clyde dragged us down to the dirges. Those were individual men who cared more about money than the program. This team (yes, I know that they’re kids, blah, blah, blah) have no heart and care nothing about the name on the front. They came because they thought a Final 4 was automatic and an NBA contract was waiting in the wings. I hope to see a major team overhaul next season. Schollys revoked. Players transferring. Coaching staff examined under a microscope.

  43. Fire Cal Now Says:

I hope Cal goes to the NBA.

  44. Hoodie Hood Says:

Should I come back as a GA or use a free ride for next season?

  45. fireants25 Says:

best thing iv heard all year

  46. Syrin Says:

Hang in there Archie !!! You’ve improved, and you have heart. You’ll make it. BBN loves you and the fact you give your all.

Has Wiljer done ANYTHING in 2013 ?!?!?! My GOODNESS, you talk about regression.

  47. dribble drive high five Says:

*Comments on message boards. Not Archies comments, I very much like what he said.

  48. Ron Says:

Can’t wait to see some post game interviews.

  49. Travis Ford Says:

    Hey guys. Need a coach?

  50. jb Says:

WCS played like someone slipped some xanax bars in his gatorade

  51. HawkD Says:

I’ll be the first one to admit that this team is the most frustrating to watch that I’ve ever seen, but someof you guys need to chill out. Archie and Willie never quit on this season. They may have done things that made us go nuts, but they always gave effort. They are no scrubs and I don’t want to see anyone who is bashing them now change their tune when they are playing well next year. We have way too many couch coaches who don’t know what the hell they are talking about.

  52. Mike Says:

WCS did suck tonight, but he had a lot of company.

  53. Ryan Harrow Says:

Either Cal leave or I am out of here!

  54. fireants25 Says:

    #5 hahahahahahahahaha continuous

  56. Get over yourself Says:

    42 get a life

  57. markp Says:

Archie showed heart today and I can see him working hard and being something next year. Poythress and WCS should do the same.

  58. T Dogg Says:

You cant say Archie doesn’t have heart. He’s played hard all season, just didn’t always make the right decisions. I’ve always rooted for him. He’ll only get better.

  59. Syrin Says:

#42 – Go F yourself. I’m sure you’ll tell everyone Sunday night you picked every winner. We don’t need band wagon F Tards like you as fans. These kids want to win. They’re young, raw, and learning. Archie is trying, Archie is honest, and Archie chose to come here to be part of BBN. You should like him just for that. Go cheer for IU and U of L, prick

  60. Cat man Says:

I support all of these freshman next year to comeback. They will be great. Now fck off haters. I am sick of your support.

  61. Sk54 Says:

Never thought I would say it, Wiltjer would be better off transferring.

  62. Mike Says:

Cal new RECRUITER IN CHIEF…Ford..COACH IN WAITING.

  63. tankercat Says:

Well I hope WCS, Goodwin, and Poythress come back, Polson, Hood and Wiljer will be back for sure, thats six bodies, Harrow should really go, no toughness in him. We have six maybe seven coming, Id really like to see the kid from Madison Central but he isnt walking on anywhere and who can blame him ? We will need a backup point guard next year, I’d hate to see Polson have to give up a scholly cause that guy gets it and plays hard.

  64. dusty380 Says:

ADVICE TO PLAYERS – LIVE IN THE GYM…MORNING TO NIGHT….SHOOT FTs….HUNDREDS OF THEM….HIT THE WEIGHTS….COME BACK AND FIGHT LIKE HELL FOR MINUTES

  65. C-A-T-S Says:

Slow down Archie. We want you back along with WCS and Noel. The rest can leave. Oh Polson can stay and hold down the bench, but u gotta love the kid. Most blue running through his veins of anyone on the team. I guess we could take Wiltjer back because he can hit threes when he’s wide open and he will be next year with this group coming in (the 5 min/game he plays). Yes Archie, we want your crazy ass back. I’m saying that seriously. You are out of control, but when you put it together you are going to be scary good, and I hope that happens while you are at UK.

  66. doug Says:

Agree with #10 and 36… Let’s move on, let the kids who don’t want to put the work in go somewhere else and kick some ass next year. We’d all take a national title, even if it meant a first rounf NIT loss to Robert Morris High School.

  67. Sk54 Says:

Archie and Polson will set tone for team next year.

  68. TheKentuckyKid Says:

I say kick these lazy and un-motivated kids off the team, i dont care if they go pro or transfer. Theyve lost the right the right to wear Kentucky across their chest by being too lazy to shoot free throws (Cauley-Stein below 40% is beyond ridiculous), and too stupid to listen to Coach Cal

  69. Sheriff Buford T. Justice Says:

I love Archie. He has 0 decision making skills but I’ve never once been disappointed with his heart. At least this abomination of a basketball team is done!!

  70. Yes Says:

Mike – #52 Yes, he did have company sucking tonight, namely your mother.

  71. leftygilmore Says:

Proud to hear Goodwin say this. I wish you will come back next year and fulfill your dreams! As for Harrow, leave and never return.

  72. Poy Says:

I am a lottery pick, out of here suckers! Hope UK don’t take a huge hit on the APR. Leaving school before classes end.

  73. Fire Mitch B. Says:

Why in the world did we play at Robert Morris. With an already shaky team, why did we choose to go into a hostile environment. Cut the crap excuse of no staff. Mitch B. needs to be fired for this blunder.

  74. Yes Says:

    67. If Polson is playing then UK BASKETBALL HAS NOT IMPROVED. Polson needs to go to an NAIA school and be a role player.

  75. Mike Says:

60 Cat man…you are a sick puppy…why would you want Poy back next year?…he was the biggest cancer on the team.

  76. music city cat fan Says:

Remember Terrence Jones’ first year? Remember his second year? Bring em all back and make em fight for their spot!

  77. UK class of 78 Says:

Love it. Cal is gonna preach the gospel truth to these losers.. Don’t let the door hit ya.

  78. Sk54 Says:

Robert Morris or VMI which is the worse loss. Look at the rosters and time of year.

  79. leftygilmore Says:

Any KY fan on here that is “wanting” KY to lose is not a KY fan, regardless of your age.

  80. davefromdagap Says:

Youre gonna get this with the one and done kids. I’ll take the bad with the good. Goodwin will become a good player. Poythres….dont know that he has the motor. Harrow doesnt have the mentality…plain and simple. We’ll kick ass and take peoples lunch money next year.

  81. C-A-T-S Says:

We have a great coach he just needs some players that want to win and will listen. Pretty obvious —— 2012 champs. U can’t be a bad coach and win a championship. Get real.

  82. TheKentuckyKid Says:

    Yes, I am an idiot!

  83. Yes Says:

Mike – your mom is wanting you to come upstairs. Your dinner is getting cold.

  84. fireant Says:

Archie is a mess but a good kid who works hard. Alex is timid and a bit of an enigma. Kyle is just a big white jump shooter who needs others to get him his shot. All of them will benefit from another year at UK. WCS should not go pro because he needs to develop his game. Harrow is likely gone because he just couldn’t handle it. Noel should go because if he gets hurt again his big money days could be over.

  85. Katdaddy Says:

I hope he leaves and takes poythress along with him. I think wiltjer would be fine with somemore talent around him.

  86. Jacob Brooks Says:

All of u who want everyone gone use your real names so that way when Poy Archie or Willie play great next year we can make sure you aren’t talking about how much you love them

  87. DerbyDemon Says:

I, like so many others, are VERY glad this debacle disguised as a season is FINALLY over. And I will say this: without Jared Polson and Archie Goodwin, I don’t think UK would have scored 20 points tonight. I tip my hat to those two. As for the other “wasted spaces” disguised as players, take your uniforms off NOW because you never deserve to wear them again. As for the coaching staff, they also deserve a swift kick in the arse. Coach Cal, I’ve heard you say many times that “insanity is repeating the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.” Care to explain your coaching–or lack thereof–this year? You and the rest of your coaching staff need to take a sabbatical and do some serious soul searching because you sucked as badly as your team did.

  88. Delk for 3 Says:

No need to be embarrassed guys. We won it all last year and had a brand new team that wasn’t very good and we lost our STAR player to boot. So we lost. Who cares? If you think next year will be anything like this year you are a fool. Things are looking up. This dreadful season is over and now it’s a new year. Can’t wait until next season when some good basketball players come and Kentucky is back to kicking ass. I have a feeling EVERYONE is staying — including Noel. No way any of them want to go out on this note.

  89. schollys? Says:

    WCS
    Archie
    Alex
    Kyle
    Harrison 1
    Harrison 2
    Lee
    Willis
    Young
    Dakari
    Hood
    Polson
That leaves 1 for Randle, assuming Harrow leaves

  90. Yes Says:

I did not want UK to lose. But when they DO NOT PLAY WITH HEART I AM NOT WASTING MY BREATH SUPPORTING that.

  91. Sk54 Says:

74- Polson loves UK he’ll stay on as a walk-on. He deserves that jersey more than anyone on senior night.

  92. Harold Says:

Goodwin is the one kid who will play of he stays. The rest will have very nice courtside SEATS. I, for one, want some kentucky kids on the team. The walkon Jarrod Polson was the 2nd leading scorer. why you say? He is from Kentucky and it means something to him! Recruit Hawkins from KY. Recruit heart as much as talent…many times it means more.
Cal lost 13 games this year. Some blame must be laid at his feet. No UK coach has ever lost the first NIT game. Only Rupp, Hall and Gillespie have even played in the NIT. That is saying something……………….
I am just glad its over.

  93. Richie Farmer Says:

Heck I could have played tonight guys!

  94. UK class of 78 Says:

Polson, Wiltjer or Hood better not be playing any minutes at all next year or this is a repeat of this year

  95. bankshot Says:

Thankfully Mays is a senior or I think Cal would have tried to play him next year…geez

  96. Yes Says:

    89. HOOD and POLSON will not have schollys. Randle is coming for sure.

  97. holler baller Says:

Don’t know much about the NBA but I would think if you can’t beat Robert Morris you may have a little trouble hanging with Rondo Durant James and Wade…..but what do I know.

  98. B. Long/ S. Malone Says:

We will only return if giving a free ride. We have for the last 2 years, just saying.

  99. Yes Says:

    94. Agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  100. Katdaddy Says:

    Who are u #86?

  101. Jacob Brooks Says:

    76) Poy wasn’t a cancer. God you are clueless.

Do u know what cancer is? Explain how being an inconsistent freshmen is the same thing?

    Your a moron

  102. Cat man Says:

Couch coaches is all I have read all year. I wish the redneck UK fans crawl back in their hole. I am tired of people hating on young kids who are trying. We lost 97 percent of our offense last year. We will be much better and have a great shot at making a run. It makes me puke to think of the punks that will talk smack when we start winning again and Harrow, WCS, Big P are beast next year to help out our young freshman.

  103. DribbleBucket Says:

I don’t hate this team. I am frustrated with their lack of effort all year. With the exception of Polson (who plays within his capabilities) and Goodwin, and occasionally WCS, there was absolutely no effort this year. Noel was a level above them all. I’m going to wash this bad taste out of my mouth and move on. Excited for football and next year BB. I am and always be a true blue fan.

  104. Sk54 Says:

Gotta be honest. I am kind of glad that Kyle missed. I have a lot of work to do around the house and don’t need to waste time watching this team and trying to make myself feel better by looking at who is coming in next.

  105. Delk for 3 Says:

I’m very happy Julius Mays will never be seen again. His pudgy ass was worthless for too many games this season when our guys needed him to do something. If it wasn’t a wide open three, he was useless. Good riddance to Julius — a freakin’ scrub!

  106. Yes Says:

    91. Polson can stay as a walk-on but if he is getting any minutes it means UK is still not a tourney team and would struggle in D2. That is not a knock on him, he just does not have the talent to hoop at the D1 level.

  107. buzzard Says:

#42 Go F yourself then become a Uof L FAN
Archie played with a lot of heart. Polson gave 100%. I was proud of both young men.
That said, the other players played like girls and Cal got out coached.
    Can’t wait till next year.

  108. Cal Says:

Still like my bunch of misfits.

  109. mikey Says:

You got it right bankshot. If Mays returned he would definitely be a starter. Why I have no earthly idea but he would be.

  110. Galtoid Says:

At this point, the only thing that will make this night go away, is if U of L is knocked out early. I know . . . I can dream, can’t I?

  111. BlueTexan Says:

ALL schollys revoked…Polson and, maybe Poythress, can return. The rest can be given their outright releases. Tonight was embarassing. Looked like a BCG team. And Cal, as much as I love you…you need not be ‘humbled’…you need to rethink your coaching philosophy/treatment of the ‘youngens’…

  112. Billy G Says:

Archie want to finish what they started….He want to win the NIT championship!

  113. Big O Says:

Hey get off this team’s back. They were playing a national powerhouse team tonight. What a difference a season makes. Look at the other 3 teams who were in the 2012 Final Four.
Louisville – #1 over all seed. Kansas -# 1 seed. Ohio State – #2 seed. UK -# overall seed in NIT.

THIS WILL GO DOWN AS ONE OF IF NOT THE MOST EMBARASSING MOMENTS IN KENTUCKY BASKETBALL SEASON!!!!!!!

I was not at all surprised we lost. The only person more overjoyed than the Robert Morris coach- John Calapari.

See u in October 2013- Big Blue Madness. UK WILL BE BACK

  114. Smart Person Says:

These guys are going to be much better next year and will dominate in their JR season. I don’t hold any ill will to the players and believe most of them will grow tremendously over the next couple of years. They are normal freshman that had expectations which where unachievable. At that age i just hoped i didn’t mess up the pizza order at my job after a day at school.

  115. Tim Kathlina Says:

Archie’s play greatly improved this season starting with the game at Arkansas. He will be a great leader next year, bank on it. Kyle W. needs to transfer. He spent too much time making Youtube videos over the summer and not working on his body and game. He should transfer to Utah or BYU, a program like that. Alex Poythress had a normal freshman year, he was just over rated out of high school. He needs to return to Kentucky and let Cal define his game and LISTEN TO THE COACH. Willie Stein was not supposed to be a starter or even see the floor very much, so he PERFORMED BEYOND EXPECTATION. Willie will be a special player next year, bank on it. Thank you to John Hood, Jarrod Paulson, Ryan Harrow, Kyle Wiltzer for being Cats, they will not be back next year. Finally, N Noel, good luck in the NBA, you will need it, your not ready, but there is no way you don’t go, draft status is too good. Win number #9 next year boys. Go Cats!

  116. Jacob Brooks Says:

    93) are you all really this dumb?

Archie Poythress and WCS will all play plenty. Alex will either start or be the backup SF and PF and WCS will be our starting center. Archie probably starts in a 3 guard lineup with the twins with Randle starting the 4.

Bench of Young Poy Lee and Johnson. Wiltjer and Pols on are the guys who’s minutes will plummet

  117. Will Says:

I’ll be insulted if anyone but Noel talk to NBA folks.

That said, idk if I have grown tolerant of his play or what but I liked how Archie played tonight.

  118. Julius Mays Says:

Can’t believe I transferred from Wright State (made the NCAA) to come to this state of losers.

  119. UK class of 78 Says:

Harrow and Poythress both say they’re coming back? Enjoy the splinters in your asses.

  120. Dominique Hawkins Says:

I will play harder than anyone who got on that court tonight. Guaranteed.

  121. Harold Says:

94—-Poythress, Stein and Harrow were not shining stars. Jarrod Polson played his heart out every time he played. Sure he may not be as talented as the 3 above, but he was better all season long as far as heart. Polson was 2nd leading scorer tonight! This team lacks heart. KY kids have heart. This is Kentuckys program..not the players program…

  122. jb Says:

    1. Archie Goodwin
    2. Alex Poythress
    3. Willie Cauley-Stein
    4. Kyle Wiltjer
    5. Andrew Harrison
    6. Aaron Harrison
    7. James Young
    8. Marcus Lee
    9. Dakari Johnson
    10. Derek Willis
    11. Julius Randle
    12. Andrew Wiggins
    13. Dominique Hawkins- Madison Central

  123. Sk54 Says:

I enjoyed watching three guys play all year, Polson – Mays – Goodwin. Wonder why?

  124. BlueTexan Says:

    #73- AMEN

  125. Doc Says:

#88 delk for 3. Those were some of the best comments for true uk fans, very uplifting after the last 3 weeks

  126. KW Says:

I will only transfer, if my mommy will allow me too. She makes great PBJ sandwiches.

  127. MissingLink Says:

So, Hood and Polson can graduate. Wiltjer has been forced to play out of his element this year. WCS just needs some more experience. I’m very disappointed in this season…especially with a game like Vanderbilt’s in the SEC tournament. That was a total lack of effort. As much as dislike Stallings, he sure out coached Cal. I have to place some of the blame on the coaching staff!! Let’s look forward to next year…and pray we get Randle tomorrow!!! We need some of these guys to hang around like WCS, Archie…and I think Pothress can come around like Terrence Jones. They need some leadership…that’s for sure!

  128. Fancoulo Says:

Same players, same coach, same game plan, same result.

  129. Syrin Says:

#90 Good, then go ahead and f’ing die. We don’t need fair weather f tards like you as fans

  130. Sk54 Says:

106-agreed, Polson is definitely not a guy you rely on.

  131. Tod Lanter Says:

Cal, said if I stay, I will get a free ride next season. I told him I need to think about that. He said I could use as much time as possible. He really needs me for next season, I could be the next Polson.

  132. Sk54 Says:

Harrow may go down as the most over hyped player in UK history.

  133. I can't call it Says:

More disappointment coming. Randle and wiggins go together to KU. Watch.
And Dakari hasn’t signed, just committed , he’s bailing too. Wait and see.

  134. Polson Says:

I love it when we are not good, I get to play!!!!!

  135. UK Lady Fan Says:

Please stay Archie. He will be a beast next year. He’s the only one that even tried!

  136. Brad C. Says:

I been offer by Coach Dad!

  137. Rupp Arena Says:

So did BBN enjoy the screw job we gave UK. FYI, UL has lots of pull in the state. Yes, they will use UK’s locker room.

  138. Sk54 Says:

Predictions??? Harrow transfers. Cauley-Stein and Poythress go pro. Archie returns. We win number #9………… Still need to add a 40% 3-point shooter.

  139. Downcline Says:

If you think Archie doesn’t have heart, then you don’t know basketball. He just needs to increase his basketball IQ.

  140. ALMOST??? Says:

ALMOST????? We ALMOST got hijacked?? We lost in the freaking first round of the NiT! We GOT hijacked.

  141. Duke sucks Says:

You can’t question Archie’s hart! This kid played his rear off for UK. He just tried to hard at times and made stupid plays. One more year with Cal plus having other players to shoulder the load and he will improve his draft stock by leaps and bounds. Alex looked lost and unmotivated all year. I don’t think 6 more years will help him that much. If the NBA is willing to make him a millionaire he better take it.
WCS will improve with 3 more years under his belt. Wiltjer is a role player and that’s all he’ll ever be. Don’t know why so many are hating on Polson he wasn’t this teams problem. He will play spot minutes next year. Harrow is gone.

  142. BBB Says:

Harrow transfers (depending on recuiting),Several walk ons lose scholarships, Noel goes pro (has to), Everyone else comes back. We’re loaded…#9. You heard it here first.

  143. Chicago Chris Says:

Goodwin may have had his issues but he was one of the few that showed heart.

  144. Chicago Chris Says:

#133 Shut up. Predicting the worst just so you get some satisfaction out of “I told you so” were it to happen is a cowards way.

  145. Doug Newman Says:

Some of the responsibility lies with the coach. Number one Kentucky was the number one seed and under no circumstances should Cal have accepted to play in that gym. Play it at the Sportscenter in Owensboro but not there. I agree with other Harrow we do not need period. Wiltjer is not going to fit in he is to slow and can not play defense. As far as I am concerned the others should be welcomed back.

  146. Archieisgreat Says:

I really like Archie’s FG %. He can shoot us to a title. He’s Roderick Rhodes Jr.

  147. J Says:

@122 that would be a nasty lineup!

  148. Jeff Matsel Says:

Product of their environment! We created the monster with all the hype and the drank every bit of it! Now we need to back these kids and take what the haters are dishing out until next year!

  149. Oohlala Says:

These kids just performed like true freshmen this year. Anywhere else thats fine. Here we expect every kid to be a top five pick. With some more help around them and another year they should be just fine. They were hijacked by hateful fans and social media early on and did not get a fair chance to grow at their own pace. Ranked number 3 preseason before playing a single game together left them nowhere to go but down and our more ignorant fans immediately started to send them hate mail. They are just kids and had a lot put on their shoulders. I hope Poythress and Goodwin come back and make great strides next year. Until then, give them a break.

  150. Nel Says:

    WE LOVE YOU ARCHIE!
