This game has disaster written all over it.

  2. kybb Says:

    I agree with #1.

I feel like we’re destined to lose by 20.

  3. kentuckyrules Says:

RMU: You are welcome, and we are sorry.

Welcome for bringing fame, sorry for whooping your azz on your home court, in front of a pumped crowd.

  4. Bigblue Says:

Dont understand why we are playing this tourney. There is nothing to gain from it.

  5. Mitch Barnhart Says:

White guy in the beginning is 100% Andy from Parks and Rec.

  6. RealCatsFan Says:

#4, there is plenty to be gained if the players on the team decide they want it. First they have to grow a set and develop a sense of pride, a little bit of a bad attitude that a team like RM would even think they have a chance to stay in the game with them. That is what has been lacking with this team all year. It startes with Ryan, since he is our PG. Ryan, are you going to be a MAN or a MOUSE? Decide now!

  7. Bamacat55 Says:

Good for them, this is what college basketball is all about. Cats still by 15.

  8. bdowne Says:

The cats have to come out with tons of energy and take out the crowed early otherwise this could be an absolute disaster. I really hope the cats take this game seriously and are able to blow them out. I know Cal understands the significance of this game, I just the players are able to respond to his coaching

  9. Bigblue Says:

If Harrow and Poythress cant get motivated for the SEC tournament i dont see them putting much into this NIT game either.

  10. RealCatsFan Says:

Crap! Even their mascot looks a little bit like Vandy’s! If they have a dumpy, bald coach who looks like Stallings, I’m going to really start worrying.

  11. BamaCat Says:

Oh Crap! This could be the worst night in KY basketball history!

  12. Turds In My Punchbowl Says:

Don’t kid yourselves……these guys are absolutely capable and probably going to kick our ass, because (1) our team is 100% deflated and soft and, (2) ready to have curvy blondes serve them peeled grapes for the few remaining months they are on our nickle and, (3) drop classes like they were on fire, sorry John, I don’t see these guys doing anyone any favors…..except maybe the guys that are betting Robert Morris and giving up the 5.5……..

  13. London Says:

Archie Goodwin will have a field day tomorrow.

  14. Rae Says:

This is actually kind of adorable, in a completely embarrassing way. Like a five-year-old boy beating his ten-year-old big brother in HORSE for the first time.

That one girl needs to skip her night class. She won’t remember a thing she would have learned that day. And I admire that Terrell guy, attending all those games at a small university. I admire someone who can be such a big fan and appreciate the little things.

That said, I hope our guys show up.

  15. TheRealHambone Says:

KY has no chance in this game. They will walk in that high school gym, bend over and take whatever the other team wants to shove in their direction. This season has been CRAP. Please alex and archie put your names in the draft and ryan…. just go away.

  16. ASf345 Says:

    15. I’m tired of people like you.. If you don’t want to support them find a new team. They could be the key to next years team yet you want them to go away?

  17. kyfan49 Says:

I love reading these comments about all the Cats have to do…… That is all we heard all season long. It isn’t going to happen. This season ended with the loss at Vandy! Lets talk football and let us lick our wounds and regroup for next year. It is going to be a miserable two weeks and nothing they do in the NIT will make it any better!

  18. So I Am Says:

I join your sentiments, #16. Some of these comments are brutal.

  19. Usernametaken Says:

Win or lose, what difference does it make? It’s the NIT. It’s a post-season exhibition game. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? That’s what winning in the NIT is.

That being said, an NIT game is the biggest game in that other team’s history? Wow.

  20. MadTex Says:

Kentucky will lose by 18….no one on the team cares, especially Goodwin, Poythress and Harrow. LOSERS!!!!

  21. Prince Says:

Maybe Cal wants to lose in a blow out so it will easier to get rid of some and convince others to come back. Something about his pc today didnt seem right. He wasnt worried but he was not convincing anyone that the tem oul suddenly change and play hard.

  22. so... Says:

What do we gain from this? Wins. We can’t sit by and watch KU and UNC gain wins on us. I hope that we do win some games in this tourney. I’m a fan.

  23. chipanzy Says:

What does he mean that Kentucky is “the winner of 15 Final Fours”?

  24. Yep Says:

20.I don’t know if you mean Goodwin, Harrow, and Poythress, don’t care about this game, or that they haven’t cared all season. I can’t speak of if they care about this game, but as far as the season, I can. I was a huge Goodwin critic all year. He would definitely frustrate me every game. Then with about 5 games left in the season,I noticed something. Goodwin was still making some of his bonehead mistakes, but he played hard. When it seems several people on the team weren’t trying, he would. Towards the end of the season it seems he didn’t drive as much until it was apparent that the other guys were not going to get it done. I think the kid definitely cares. If he could improve his jumper and play smarter, he would be awesome. As far as Harrow, I think the kid cares. You could see it when he played bad, or made a mistake. He would get down on himself. If he didn’t care, that would not be the case. Now as far as Poythress, I can’t make much of an arguement for him. Many games this year, the effort just wasn’t there. I remember Darius Miller had the same problem for three years. It seemed that he was content to let the other guys try to score or get the rebounds. I am hoping that that is the problem with Poythress. It ails me to think that he just doesn’t care. With effort, he could be a 10 to 12 rebound guy a night, every night.

  25. BigBlueKermit Says:

I have three words: Beaver. County. Times.

  26. Dee W Says:

“Dont understand why we are playing this tourney. There is nothing to gain from it.”

What is this even supposed to mean? Makes absolutely no sense. We are playing in this tournament because we did not make the other tournament. This is a basketball team and therefore its purpose is to play basketball. We are basketball fans of this team and therefore we want to watch them play basketball…and hopefully watch them win. What else is supposed to happen?

  27. Dee W Says:

    “It’s a post-season exhibition game.”

No it is not – it counts on the record.

“If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? That’s what winning in the NIT is.”

If a tree falls in the forest it fell and made a sound whether or not anywhere was there to hear it – whether some was there to hear it is immaterial and is not an analogy that has anything to do with basketball. The overwhelming majority of the fan base will be supporting them.

    Fair weather fans…are not fans.

  28. UK Freshmen Says:

Honestly. I don’t know whether to just laugh or to just shake my head with Gillespie-type embarrassment. Regardless, I can’t believe that Cal has ‘lead’ this once proud major basketball power to this little place. It’s like Bama playing my high school team at my home town. Amazing and sad at the same time. Good Lord.

  29. Jon Lock Says:

The saddest part about this whole thing, is that this weekend has been the happiest day in all these trolls’ basketball fandom.

  30. Jon Lock Says:

^Wow, talk about bad grammar on my part.

    * the happiest day in these trolls’ basketball lives. *

    There, that looks better.

  31. UK#1 Says:

We have set ourselves up for MAJOR FAILURE. This could get ugly. Please come to play KY.

  32. Raazoul Says:

Geez guys, this Kentucky team is awful, but we will beat this D2 team by 20. 4.5 pt spread? You nuts? Bet the hell outta that spread. These players will want to save face. They have no pressure, everyone thinks they are terrible. This is gonna be a head smashing.

  33. btowncatfan Says:

From a UK fan perspective, this stinks. But how cool must this be for Robert Morris University.

  34. Porcino's Says:

#1: Agreed. You have a UK team who has been soft and seemingly unmotivated for most of the year, minus the games against Missouri and the home game with Florida, playing ON THE ROAD against a Robert Morris team whose faculty is pretty much shutting down campus for this game. Not saying the Cats can’t do it, but this doesn’t pass the smell test. We will know in the first 5 game minutes whether or not to watch the rest of the game.

  35. Biglaw Dawgin' Says:

34 – yep. On the road and after a huge letdown. I hope they can get up for 40 minutes tonight.
