Twany Beckham was interviewed today on the eve of his Senior Day game tomorrow against Florida. Beckham spoke about John Calipari allowing him to step on the floor for a brief stint the other night against his former team, Mississippi State, in what might have been his final game minutes on the floor as a Wildcat. Beckham said Calipari chose to do it against Mississippi State because he wasn’t sure the opportunity would come against the Gators. Beckham knew his teammates would need to concentrate on the game against Florida, and not him.
“It meant a lot. I’ve always admired Coach,” Beckham said. ”He cares a lot about us. When he came to me at the end of the game, I was all smiles. I didn’t know if I’d ever step on the court again. When he said that I almost sprinted up there.”

My heart goes out to this young man. He relished the opportunity to just step onto the court for a moment. We have so much talent, it’d be nice if everyone had his mentality. Best of luck to Mr. Beckham.

He’s not a blue chip player… but I think a healthy Twanny in the backcourt changes this season for UK.

Twany….you seem like a very nice guy…sorry you didn’t get a chance to play much, but you certainly could not have played any worse than a couple of the other misfits. Be nice to get an interview with AP….a final exit interview out of the program.
