- Earlier today Neal Brown tweeted the picture above of Jalen Whitlow and other Wildcat Footballers celebrating Dr Suess’ birthday Saturday, by reading to children at the mall. In case you were wondering, Thing 1 and Thing 2 are new Stoops’ recruits.
- Kentucky has distributed over 33,000 Spring game tickets, which will make the game one of the highest attended Spring games in the country. These numbers- along with Stoops’ higher rated recruiting class- may have gotten under Little Brothers skin. How does Louisville react? To get more fans in the seats they are offering a $1 beer promotion for the game. With that offer on the table they can finally compete with the Louisville Bats’ crowd. I doubt it’ll work; they should be offering $1 Crown Royals.
- With Spring practice less than 2 weeks away, #BBN will finally get a taste of how last year’s Cats are handling the changes within the program. The hot button issue all Spring will be around the development of the QBs in Neal Brown’s offense. Max Smith seems to be the Vegas favorite, but early buzz around the team indicates that Jalen Whitlow will not be backing down without a fight, looking very sharp in winter workouts. The QB competition alone should be enough to make the Spring game very entertaining. I still have fingers-crossed, hoping Stoops allows for a couple open practices before the team takes the field April 13th.
- I think it is now apparent that Mark Stoops likes Ohio as much as high school kids from Ohio like Coach Stoops. As Tyler mentioned earlier, 4 -Star 2014 offensive guard and Ohio State commit Marcelys Jones received an offer from the Cats. A few hours later he tweeted, “Just because you committed don’t mean anything until you sign that letter that’s were most people get lost at.” While it is very premature to get your hopes up for landing the Top-100 recruit, it should be satisfying knowing that your coach is going after the best of the best. I doubt Joker Phillips would’ve done the same.
