With the excitement surrounding Julius Randle’s announcement in 15 days, now seems like a good time to revisit his interview with Dave Telep from a couple months ago when he hinted at Kentucky being his choice.
Watch as Randle names Andrew Harrison as the player he’d like to play with most and then playfully laughs and agrees when Telep says he’ll be driving Harrison up to Lexington from Texas.
This interview, plus all the things we’ve heard from Jason Jordan and some other folks in the know, points to good news for Big Blue Nation on March 20.

I don’t sense that this interview “hints” theat Randle is telegraphing his intent to play at UK. He’s merely answering the question about Harrison and laughs as if to say, “sure I’ll play along” with that scenario. Don’t be reading more into this than what’s there.

So what was all of the excitement and buzz concerning Julius and UK just a couple of weeks ago? Never heard a definite on what that was all about. Now it seems most recruiting people think it is Kansas. I know Kansas fans sure seem confident. What has changed, if anything the past couple of weeks?

2… Watch again. Telep didn’t ask him if he’d like to play with Andrew Harrison, he asked him what player he’d like to play with most in college, which is Andrew Harrison. Randle WILL be a cat.

Thanks for the clarification #5, but Randle had to think long and hard before he came up with Harrison as the player he’d most like to play with in collge. Even still, that doesn’t imply he’ll be a Cat. Hope I’m wrong…just don’t see how this video means anything.

Do we have any idea when Wiggins is planning to announce?
1) I’ve felt he was a lock since he discussed in an interview or article that he had been talking to Coach Cal and Cal told him that if the injure was severe and he couldn’t play basketball, he could come be a student assistant or whatever.
Add in that we will be loaded with talent and a favorite to win, plus Andrew Harrison is our PG… we’re the most logical team for Randle to pick to continue his basketball development.

Personally I believe he will ultimatey sign with the CATS… but lets not forget that his former high school teammate Zach Peters committed to Kansas has been in his ear.. Could it be a factor? Who knows, but Julius wants to win it all, UK gives him the best opportunity to do that. As far as the video, he thinks Andrew Harrison is the best pg from his HS class, he feels that he could thrive with Drew and as we have seen this yr, a pg will make or break your team..

I think the longer it takes for Randle and Wiggins to announce, the better UK’s chances. They already know what they need to know about the personnel on next year’s teams at Kansas, Florida State, et al. They don’t know who will be back at UK. For Randle to pick an early date to announce so soon after visiting Kansas does not bode well for Kentucky fans.

@11. Randle was talking about announcing soon prior to his Kansas visit. Kansas’ team wont be this good next year and we wont be this inconsistent next year. Randle is a “Nike” kid, so I dont really see him going to Kansas(adidas school). But he will be good no matter where he goes.. Good luck Julius…. We will be fine regardless. If we dont get Randle, another yr for Poythress would be great for us.

Both Wiggins and Randle know their best chance at a title is at UK. If Randle does select UK than UK would have the top ranked player from the 2013 class at every position except for SF. Would that make it more difficult for Wiggins to say no to UK.
Word is that Wiggins doesn’t like the spotlight but at UK he would be sharing the spotlight and he wouldn’t have as much pressure on him to be the top scorer. If he wants more attention on him rather than sharing it with the other players than FSU would be his best choice.

I’d be really surprised if UK does not get Randle…Wiggins, not so sure.
As far as KU fans & some media saying he’s a KU lean now…I don’t buy it, every year KU fans scream they are getting everybody that’s a 5 star and will have the best class in history and they never do. Bill Self is a dick and tries to keep everybody on campus for 4 years, kids like Randle & Wiggins don’t go for his style. UK might not get either but I’d be surprised if KU lands either one..I think Cal has this handled.

After watching Cal on the sideline this year – such as kicking Harrow when he was down and passing the buck onto these kids while taking none of the responsibility for their short comings – You have the audacity to call Bill Self a dick?

Must be a troll because every post game he blames himself. After a loss, but nice try, Cal expects a lot from his players, which is why he pushes them when clearly they aren’t giving 100%. Come be a part of BBN Julius! U know deep down its the perfect fit!

Based on the 3 things I heard from this interview that Julius is looking 4
1.) Wants to be able to win it all, that only leaves UK, Flor, & Kan
2.) Likes the big crowd fan support that only leaves UK, Kan, & maybe NC St.
3.) Team needs great PG, that only leaves UK, Flor, maybe NC St & Texas
So UK was the only team on all categories. Lets hope.

Julius, come to Kansas where we will either red-shirt you the 1st year or make sure you won’t be noticed by the NBA until your junior year OR go to UK and be a spotlight player once you arrive on campus and have NBA scouts at every game to watch you. Look at UK’s current team, they are struggling and still have 3-4 1st round NBA draft picks, why would you choose that lifestyle, just saying Cal looks after the player while Bill looks after his job and keeping the man down. Your choice…Troll….
