The UK Baseball team won again today, beating Akron 9-2, and locking up the three-game series sweep of the Zips. Lefty Corey Littrell made his third start of the year, and was impressive from start to finish. The Louisville native gave the Cats seven strong innings, striking out eight, while only allowing one hit. Austin Cousino hit a three-run bomb in the second, and A.J. Reed added 3 RBI’s of his own on a bases clearing double in the fourth. Overall, it was a strong performance for the No. 8 Cats, who improve to 10-1 on the year.
Pay attention to this team, boys and girls. They’re very, very good. Next game is Tuesday at 4PM versus Cincinnati at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
