After Julius Randle visited Kansas and gushed about it in his latest USA Today blog, admit it: you were a little nervous about Kentucky’s chances with the talented 2013 power forward. Yet, USA Today’s Jason Jordan, who has been as close to Randle as any media member during his recruitment, says he still thinks the big man will end up a Wildcat. Back in September, Jordan came on the radio show and predicted that Randle would pick UK, and yesterday, he tweeted that he’s never wavered in that prediction.
KSR’s sources confirm those good feelings, but ultimately, no one really knows but Julius and his family:
Lol stop tweeting me with these rumors. If you aren’t in my family then you have no clue .. Thanks
— Julius Randle (@J30_RANDLE) February 26, 2013
Randle plans to announce his decision in March and has said he doesn’t need any more visits from coaches. Come on down…

Yall already know what to do let’s go creep him out on Twitter and excessively beg him to come here!
February 26th, 2013 at 11:30 am
If it’s any of our fans that keep tweeting the kid, PLEASE STOP!!!
February 26th, 2013 at 11:32 am
2. You’re Nerlens Noel away from the most unrealistic team ever.
February 26th, 2013 at 11:36 am
2. and WCS would definitely start of Dakari in that hypothetical, and Ryan and Archie would not start.
February 26th, 2013 at 11:37 am
Randle didn’t exactly deny that rumor either. hmmmm
Can you say N-A-S-T-Y
February 26th, 2013 at 11:38 am
over*
February 26th, 2013 at 11:39 am
2.you are the dumbest person ever. Please stop now.
February 26th, 2013 at 11:41 am
2) I agree. wasn’t doing starters just position by position
February 26th, 2013 at 11:43 am
that was suppose to be directed at 6
February 26th, 2013 at 11:44 am
9) go troll somewhere else
February 26th, 2013 at 11:45 am
we all know vandy will be his home if he wants a championship winning coach, have you forgotten that we are sec champs that beat you!
February 26th, 2013 at 11:46 am
This boy needs to go ahead and go to Kansas. We don’t need this drama, pick already!
February 26th, 2013 at 11:48 am
6. How can you say you know who would and wouldn’t start? You probably were one of the guys last year saying you wished Harrow was eligible so he could player over Teague. The fact of the matter is you do not know how good/bad these freshman will be till they get here.
February 26th, 2013 at 11:49 am
play over Teague*
February 26th, 2013 at 11:52 am
2. you are the one trolling…
February 26th, 2013 at 11:53 am
If Randle makes a decision before Wiggins… Does that hurt our chances of getting Wiggins?
February 26th, 2013 at 11:55 am
it simply doesnt matter if he picks before wiggins each player has seen that vandy is better than uk and will walk on over to a true championship winning coach sec champs!
February 26th, 2013 at 11:56 am
19.. grow up loser
February 26th, 2013 at 12:01 pm
18. Now you’re just being picky…
February 26th, 2013 at 12:02 pm
see uk fans shouldnt call other uk fans losers but ty for regonizing and displaying your respect for my post. as a vandy fan we have respect for each other. i even have respect for the down and depressed uk fan. its hard when your coach isnt as great as ours.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:02 pm
#19- your bragging about winning an SEC championship? You were 1-3 against UK last year, and lets not forget who won the National Championship. National Championship > SEC championship. You’re not making much sense.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:03 pm
15.) doesn’t take a genius to figure out the twins are coming in to start. Well maybe in your case it does.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:05 pm
You’re*
February 26th, 2013 at 12:08 pm
15) you were probably the one who said we couldn’t win last year because you can’t win with freshmen
February 26th, 2013 at 12:08 pm
tell me what matters every year. conference championship is more important than nc. if you cant secure your back yard then winning a nc is just luck and not important. come back to reality the sec is our back yard!
February 26th, 2013 at 12:11 pm
27.) look at you trying to get under everyone’s skin. Come back when the rest of the SEC has as many combined SEC championships as we do.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:12 pm
Cal’s a good-sized guy. Those other guys are HUGE. It just reminds me how big basketball players are.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:13 pm
Our REALISTIC lineup next year is:
Andrew Harrison Ryan Harrow Jarrod Polson
Aaron Harrison James Young
James Young Alex Poythress Kyle Wiltjer
Julius Randle Marcus Lee Kyle Wiltjer
Dakari Johnson
February 26th, 2013 at 12:14 pm
2 – Please stop making posts like this. Not only is it 100% unrealistic, but it brings down the IQ of everyone who reads this nonsense.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:16 pm
Noel, Goodwin, and Cauley Stein will be gone. We’ll get Poythress back next year. There is some basketball left to be played tho to determine Poythress’ stock
February 26th, 2013 at 12:16 pm
@18
While they are similar in size, wiggins is more of a wing while randle is more if a low block PF. I don’t think either decision will effect the other. I’m betting we get both, but that’s just my opinion.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:19 pm
Vfan- I guess winning the SEC championship is more important to you because the SEC championship is the only championship that is feasible for Vandy. Now lets get to some facts here: UK has won 2 of the last 3 SEC championships, and finished runner up last year. UK has also won 27 SEC championships overall. Do you know how many Vandy has won? The answer is 2, and prior to last year the last one was in 1951. I’ll say it again, you don’t have an argument.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:21 pm
Geez everybody, get off #2′s nuts. WTF?
February 26th, 2013 at 12:29 pm
Best part about this post is the fact that he is usually right on the money with his predictions!
Go CATS!!!
February 26th, 2013 at 12:52 pm
we’re not getting Randle. I hear Butler has a great chance though. He’ll play for a real coach.
February 26th, 2013 at 12:53 pm
OK, we now have Vandy fans (didn’t know there was such a thing) trolling a UK site. WOW. UK is in everyone’s head!!
February 26th, 2013 at 1:08 pm
#30. Everything is a hypothetical, but if the players you mention are on the team next year I would say Wiltjer is more likely to back-up the 5 then the 3. Also, Lee will get minutes at the 5 next year too. In my opinion Poythress leaves too. Should be fun to see how it all plays out.
February 26th, 2013 at 1:13 pm
Thank you 35 & 39. Only was stating how crazy our lineup could be next year. It is a possibility though slim. If Archie, Alex, and Willie go to the draft they will be D-League players. It is a possibility they decide they would rather have Cal fine tuning their potential rather than some no name D-League Coach.
February 26th, 2013 at 1:21 pm
#3 I don’t think UK has to beg anyone to come here…. Don’t think that’s Cal’s style!! Go Cats!!
February 26th, 2013 at 2:27 pm
Either you guys are smoking those left handed cigarettes or you’re wearing tinfoil hats and bats_hit crazy if you think Alex Poythress, Willie Cauley Stein, or Archie Goodwin will be back next year at UK. They’re gone! Along with Noel.
Those guys that signed already didn’t sign letters of intent to sit on the bench behind them they signed to start and play starters minutes next season. There’s still only one ball guys and only so many minutes to go around.
Calipari himself has stated he hates having 12 guys on scholarship that all deserve to play so I think that pretty much rules out any of these guys coming back. Harrow might but he won’t start over the Harrison kid.
Bottom line they may not be ready and we might know they aren’t really ready but they’re. Being drafted moreso on potential than anything else and they want to get paid. Matter of fact I think that’s Poythress and Goodwin’s problem with their lack of enthusiasm or willingness to listen than anything else. In two words Daniel Orton. He had the same problem. Had his head filled with crap before he ever got to UK and thought he was better than he was.
February 26th, 2013 at 3:08 pm
So, im smoking left handed cigarettes bc i think Poythress will be back next year and the rest will be gone? Is that really that far-fetched? I’ve seen a couple mock drafts where Poythress isn’t even going in the 1st round now.
February 26th, 2013 at 3:35 pm
Since we are being hypothetical…..Wall, Cuz, Bledsoe would just now be Seniors……grasping that is tough enough …..we have been blessed.
February 26th, 2013 at 3:58 pm
I still say Cauley-Stein/Poythress/Goodwin are all much like Jones his freshman year. Predicted top 10 picks (poythress/goodwin) that dropped in the ratings because of not meeting expectations and they could come back to try and improve their stock. I’m not saying they are for sure coming back but I do think there is about a 35% chance they do just like Jones did.
February 26th, 2013 at 5:23 pm
Archie I think is gone, gone. AP is still 50/50 and WCS is back for another year, just think he is enjoying this college life. Look at that smile he flashes all the time.
