  1. DrSayre Says:

Huge win for the Cats! You know its a big game when the Alan Cutler fathead is bobbing up and down! Its been at least 407 days since Matt mentioned the BCG uncensored podcast.

  2. MadisonvilleMicah Says:

    Firsties!

  3. Fake_Dan_Cummins Says:

You failedies… Now let’s go to Paris!

  4. Undercover Stuff Says:

Hey Cat fans, heads up! …. It looks like Pete Thameltoe was snooping around Rupp on Saturday, I believe that is him to the right with the black scarf.

  5. Brad Says:

Is that Rex Chapman and Snooki?

  6. Kidnut Says:

Vitale’s most impassioned plea from Saturday night was against the popcorn being given in the press room. He probably didn’t realize that is the only food that doesn’t make Cutler’s farts unbearable.

  7. Situation Says:

    5 – Who’d a guessed it??? Rex going Jersey on us…..

  8. Jimmy Dykes Says:

I can’t believe Dick Vitale doesn’t love Rupp Arena Hot Dogs!

  9. BIG BLUE PRODUCTIONS.... Says:

    Is that Snookie?

  10. Wall2Cousins Says:

    Snooky was their????

  11. UK_JB Says:

Can we just trade the people who set near the floor for the game day crew?! Now that is what we need!!
This week for fun should be miniature golf!

  12. Travis Says:

still exhausted and geeked from Gameday, downtown Lex and the game…and the after party. Lex was live and Rupp was rockin…Go CATS!!! Loudest game at Rupp I have witnessed live.

  13. Edd Says:

I was at the game and I’m still pumped up. Best crowd ever. Start to finish.

  14. DrSayre Says:

I’ve gotten it every day since February 15th

  15. Edd Says:

A spot on the coaching staff next year for Julius?

  16. Travis Says:

Gutsy performance from Uncle Julius…let’s chip- in and send some Bio – freeze to Wildcat Lodge to our 27 yr old senior.

  17. Jim B Says:

Had no clue she was their either

  18. Ukdropout Says:

Great Saturday and huge win. I drove down from Indy to game day and while I realize it was a huge crowd, I feel it could have been better without all the ticketmaster involvement. First come first serve would have created a much better environment and even more would have attended.

  19. Northeast Cat Says:

Great game, still pumped! Win or lose, if that is the effort the team gives the rest of the season, i’lltake it all day long!

  20. UK_JB Says:

I’ve retired from being first sadly… Too much pressure. It was making me nervous. Dr.Sayre has figured out how I was first. Possible new job soon. I still will be on the show thread. Just not first anymore.

  21. G-Unit Says:

Something Crazy to Think about next year: (btw im not saying all these guys return or that we get all of them, just covering all bases)

    Andrew Harrison – 6’5-210
    Aaron Harrison – 6’5-210
    James Young – 6’7-200
    Andrew Wiggins – 6’7-190
    Julius Randle – 6’9-240
    Aaron Gordon – 6’9-210
    Marcus Lee – 6’10-205
    Dakari Johnson – 7’0-265
    Alex Poythress – 6’7-210
    Willie Cauley – 7’0-230
    Nerlens Noel – 6’10-200
    Archie Goodwin – 6’5-180

So our SMALLEST player next year is 6’5-210. That is effing RIDICULOUS! That has to be one of the largest rosters EVER!

  22. Census cat Says:

After the success of dodge ball and wiffle ball we need to come up some activities for the team. I suggest kickball, badminton, bowling, and my personal favorite paintball.

  23. Census cat Says:

On the way home from the game I stopped at Love’s in Waddy/Peytona to get some gas. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of Ernie and his senorita on a late night beer run but all I saw were Cat fans.

  24. Wall2Cousins Says:

    21 you forgot Ryan Harrow.

  25. OSCAR'S DIAPER Says:

MATT, did you try to pull a 50 Cent when you saw Samantha?

  26. Fake_Sue_Wylie Says:

My voice is just as sexy as my legs.

  27. Delaney Hanley Says:

Matt the hottest chick at Game Day was the make up girl. I took more more pictures of her than I did of the Game Day crew.

  28. G-Unit Says:

24 – Ryan Harrow will not be back next year…

  29. inlinefor9 Says:

Matt is going to be doing commercials in Mayalsia like Conan O’Brien

  30. Bluegrass Says:

Did I miss the Fake Barney segment on College Gameday? I didn’t see it, did they show it?

  31. May Lays Ya! Says:

BIG IN JAPAN – by Tom Waits:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVdfDoXHdZc

  32. G-Unit Says:

Gameday might result in 2 or 3 football committments. One being Thaddeus Snodgrass, who might be the best WR in Ohio when its all said and done.

  33. Wall2Cousins Says:

    oh really?

  34. Census cat Says:

Did Alan Cutler try to take his fathead or did he sign and take pictures with it? I noticed him holding it and talking to some of the students but didn’t know what he was doing.

  35. Bluekzu Says:

Maybe someday a female sportscaster will be discussed without a thumbs up or down on appearance. Doubt it, but it’s a thought.

  36. somervillain Says:

For the record, they don’t have a Randall Cobb jersey. I tried.

  37. DallasCat Says:

Who gave up their tickets to the Missouri fans about 5 rows up opposite the benches?? Pull their season tickets.

  38. Bucky Small Hooves Says:

Matt, you should have slapped a 50 cent kiss on Ms. Steele.

  39. Scott Says:

    Matt,

I thought that ESPN was going to do a segment with Fake Barney. Did I miss it or is it some how Ryan’s fault?

  40. Travi Says:

Speaking of the Allan Cutler fathead, let’s play a game. How old is Allan Cutler? So old that the guy holding up the Allan Cutler fathead during the game didnt know who he was till i told him, and i only know who he is because of KSR. #Allancutlerisold

  41. Kidnut Says:

Matt might have trouble becoming popular in Malaysia once fans find out about his controversial Badminton views and comments he made during the Summer Olympics.

  42. Scott Says:

Matt, I think that the Fake Barney segment got bumped because ESPN had their I-Team looking into Jay’s disappearence.

  43. Wayne Rooney Says:

    Matt’s right on Randle

  44. OSCAR'S DIAPER Says:

Matt wouldn’t read my whole name on the air…lol. GO CATS! #havingoscarsback

  45. Travi Says:

34-Allan Cutler seemed cool with it, i think he took some pictures with fans

  46. Kevin C Says:

I just dont understand the NCAA tourney “bubble talk”. I know alot of people love the Tourney, and the way it is set up, but I just dont like it. I can agree with anyone that UK is not a top 25 team…but no way is there 64 teams all better than them…even Tennessee is better than 25 of the teams that make the tourney

  47. cracka Says:

some of the juniors at the game saturday:

    UK junior day visitors

UK had its second junior day of the month, and like the first one on Feb. 9, it was expected to include several highly regarded Ohio prospects, most of whom have multiple major conference offers.

Some Ohioans thought likely to attend: four-star offensive lineman Nick Richardson, Westerville Central; four-star safety Darius West, Lima Central Catholic; and four-star wide receiver Thaddeus Snodgrass, Springfield High School.

Richardson is the No. 180 junior by Rivals.com, West is No. 194 and Snodgrass is No. 198

  48. Bluegrass Says:

Could you all imagine if somehow someway we got Randle, Wiggins AND Nerlens back?!? Holy cow!

You think people hate us now! hahahaha that would be Legend….wait for it….dary!!!

  49. Surgeon Michael Says:

Dick Vitale is Alex Poythress’ muse.

  50. G-Unit Says:

UK Football is going after 10 guys in the Rivals top 250…and we have a lot of guys very close to breaking into the top 250. We are pursuing 2 top in top 50 and have a very good shot at landing.

Also, Just for kicks, I even called Hatcher to UK before Matt did…lol

  51. inlinefor9 Says:

I think we HAVE to win the next 3 before UF to get in. I was happy and enjoyed the game Saturday, but we aren’t out of the woods yet.

  52. Travis Says:

Two of the biggest plays in the game were Archie’s reverse layup on the baseline and Uncle Julius’s three pointer. huge plays!

  53. somervillain Says:

My MSU Dawgs buddy sums them up as follows:

“Mississippi state is a bettors gold mine because they are so bad even Vegas can’t put real lines on them. They are probably the worst team in the sec in 10 or 15 years.

Rick ray? He may be a good coach, who knows? it’s hard to say because the roster is roughly a weak div ii squad…everyone left, no time to recruit, 1 of two returnees out all season, 6 scholarship players total. Even die hard state fans don’t think there is anything that can be done with these poor bastards.

At least we weren’t pre-season top 5…that would be embarrassing.”

  54. OSCAR'S DIAPER Says:

Uncle Julius is like the old dude at the YMCA you can’t leave open

  55. Travis Says:

Will the Post Game Show be uploaded for anyone who didn’t listen , feel asleep or were out partying? Thanks

  56. barn Says:

48**that would be great, but i doubt nerlens comes back. he’s still projected as a #3 pick. i think poythress & willy are gone, with maybe goodwin returning.

  57. Shawon Says:

Mike DeCourcey says that UK MUST beat either Arkansas or Florida as well as Georgia to ensure a NCAA bid, because they have only one Top 50 win (Missouri). Thoughts?

  58. G-Unit Says:

    Kuala Lumpur

  59. Unibrow76 Says:

Congratulations to the Wildcats on a great game! It was an amazing atmosphere to be in attendance for – funniest thing was a guy walks into our section wearing a Kansas jacket. As it turns out he came there to root against Missouri! But the only bad thing was the two older women sitting in front of us that got up and left with about three minutes to go IN REGULATION!!!! I just don’t get it – it was 71-70 at the time!

  60. inlinefor9 Says:

#46 Problem comes from the automatic bids. You have all these conferences where the teams aren’t good but they’ll get an auto-bid. So there aren’t truly 68 spots open for the tournament. There are 31 automatic bids, and only 6 major conferences. So you are really down to 33 spots. If there’s an upset in the Big 6 Conferences then the number drops even more.

  61. Rixter Says:

da real RLemond gonna teach chu ’bout malaysia!

  62. Real talk Says:

Isn’t pacquio Malaysian? But I know what Matt was mad about. It was that depressing opening montage.

  63. inlinefor9 Says:

    Sorry, 37 spots.

  64. Ridge Tennis Says:

Derek Zoolander almost killed the Prime Minister of Malaysia because he wasnt an ambiturner.

  65. Travis Says:

Ryan teaches KSR about Malaysia…haha, you can’t make this shit up. Good to see you at Rupp, man!

  66. Delk for 3 Says:

    51 — Tend to agree.

  67. Sherry Says:

Maylasia is beautiful!! Tropical, ocean breeze all the time. Capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Sigapore is on the same pennisula. I’ve travel there…just beautiful!
Go Cats!!! Big Blue Nation forever!!

  68. So_true Says:

#35. I wonder as well. Gets to be a little uncomfortable.

  69. B Millz Says:

Is there any worse team at taking charges in the country? Ever since Cal has been here we have blocked everything and didnt need to step in. Anthony Davis was terrible last year and they were several in the Mizzou game when we just flopped.

  70. Sherry Says:

    * Singapore….sorry about the spelling :(

  71. Travis Says:

I can see Uncle Julius at the YMCA with like four braces on his knees and ankles, but still ballin.

  72. inlinefor9 Says:

Heaven forbid a guy see an attractive girl and comment on it.

  73. Bluegrass Says:

Hopefully one day people will talk about the interview sessions at the Miss America Pageants and not about the looks of the ladies :/

  74. RealCatsFan Says:

G-Unit, you forgot to put Kyle in your lineup – another 6’10″ player on the roster who is sure to be back.

  75. Jim Ross Says:

The Wrestler is based on Randy “The Ram” Robinson. BTW try my Barbie Q sauce!!

  76. Sherry Says:

    ****Malaysia….dang, I need to wake up :)

  77. DrSayre Says:

Somebody should have put some ridiculous stuff on Malaysia Wikipedia to see if Ryan takes the bait

  78. inlinefor9 Says:

You should give the fat head to some random person student or frat/sorority at UK under the promise that they have to pass it on when they leave UK. So 40 years from now, there will be a tattered up fat head of Alan Cutler in some college basement behind a beer pong table.

  79. Alancutlersego Says:

Where do you order the fatheads? and how much do they cost?

  80. So_true Says:

One caller referred to Ryan as a cricket! Horrible.

  81. Bluegrass Says:

I KNEW it was from a Louisville show once I heard them repeatedly saying “They” instead of “we” and all of the times they said “U of K” instead of “UK” – that was all I needed to know it was a Louisville show

  82. Scott Says:

Oddly enough I’ve never heard Shannon the dude talk about pushing up on Shelley Smith from ESPN.

  83. Jim Ross Says:

    also known as Lex Luger.

  84. DrSayre Says:

Why didn’t ESPN play the Truth’s call talking about the Evansville ball?

  85. CJSportsgirl Says:

I saw a lady in orange…was the “the” lady in orange?

  86. DCat Says:

I thought what ESPN did to the team was awful and demeaning and somebody needs to let them know it.

  87. Kidnut Says:

Stipanovich went to Missouri, he was pretty good.

  88. KyBlueRay Says:

Little help for Ryan,in Malasia you point with your thumb not with your finger.

  89. Edd Says:

Is Willie playing himself into a 1st round pick?

  90. Travis Says:

Daraki Johnson is a big ‘ol boy and loved the S/O from the students at Gameday. Great impression for the future CAT.

  91. CatBlue in LR Says:

Steve Stepanovich was a very good player — probably made somebody’s third-team All-American, and Matt never heard of him. Kids today…

  92. Rixter Says:

Steve Stipanovich played 5 years with the Pacers and scored 5323 points…and Danny is right, he was highly recruited out of high school

  93. Nope Says:

The foot stabber is probably Malaysian. They are very particular about shoes in buildings.

  94. PAK Says:

per wikipedia – this is what we lost when we didnt get Steve Stepanovich: On the evening of Dec. 27, 1980 Stipanovich accidentally discharged a loaded firearm, hitting himself in the shoulder. He initially told police that a masked intruder, wearing cowboy boots and a flannel shirt broke into his apartment on Sunrise Drive in Columbia, Missouri, and shot him while screaming obscenities about basketball players.

The next day Stipanovich recanted the story and admitted that he shot himself by accident.5

  95. Laker Cat 18 Says:

Danny kind of reminds me of what Lou Holtz ‘should’ sound like. He starts his next word before he finishes the one he’s saying.

  96. CatBlue in LR Says:

    Swoop’s tip-in to beat Louisville.

  97. Hardly Joe Says:

During GameDay on Saturday on the front row there was a poster of a little kid? I have been wondering ever since who it was…anyone know?

  98. 66CATSFAN1948 Says:

    ESPN S U C K S!!!!

  99. big j dawg Says:

speaking of final shot, what about Anthony Davis block against Jon Henson last year to win.
John Wall vs. Miami Ohio in his first game at UK game winner

  100. Rixter Says:

Have there been bigger ‘almost went in’ shots in UK history?

  101. smiffinator Says:

What about Sparks at Louisville or Meeks against Florida???

  102. Jay in Lyndon Says:

It would be right there as the best shot in Rupp. Ced Jenkins tip was against the Dirty Birds so that made it #1. Didn’t Meeks have a huge 3 in the BCG era against Florida?

  103. jim Says:

might have been the biggest, but i think going to overtime served us better because we dominated in ot, had to really make these guys feel great about where they gan go from here

  104. Scott Says:

    Matt,

Do you think that Kyle has struggled recently because teams now game plan for him?

  105. big j dawg Says:

Zoolander- child labor, Mugatu brainwashed derek zoolander to kill the prime minister of Malaysia

  106. CatBlue in LR Says:

@ #97 — looked like a young Jon Hood to me.

  107. CatsFan Says:

Hot Wheels are big in Malaysia. I remember reading on the bottom of all my hot wheels, ‘Made in Malaysia’

  108. Travis Says:

There was the former CAT who tipped – in the GW shot in the Maui Invitational…

    BRASSOW!!!

  109. kydubbs Says:

Malaysia used to be called Burma. High school Geo. How cone they don’t know this

  110. Rixter Says:

Meeks did have a huge 3 with Nick Calathes in his face

  111. Travis Says:

liggins three against unc and knight against osu in the NCAA tourney.

  112. Bluegrass Says:

So Argo won best picture – one of the producers is from Kentucky

Best Actress went to a Kentucky girl

Best Actor winnner played a character born in Kentucky (Lincoln)

Lot of Kentucky flavor at the Oscars

  113. Sir Brandon Says:

Prediction: Ryan wilt sayeth something about Kuala-Lumpur being a furry mammal.

  114. Ridge Tennis Says:

Matt, if you want to flatter Nick Bolateri, read his autobiography “My Aces, My Faults” …

  115. Rixter Says:

    Myanmar used to be Burma

  116. JKUK Says:

G-Unit, why do you say harrow wont be back next year?

  117. Invisible Obama Says:

That was the Traveling Willberries you ding dongs!

  118. So_true Says:

I want Willie to stay more than anyone. He is just the coolest guy. I love one of his interviews when he kept asking the interviewer “what do you mean?” when he asked a question. It wasn’t rude. He was trying to understand. He’s just a cerebral guy.

  119. Bluegrass Says:

111 – neither of those were AT Rupp

  120. Travis Says:

110…exactly right. Meeks made his off – balance three and Calathes missed his FTs in front of the eRupption Zone.

  121. KyDubbs Geo Teacher Says:

    109 – that’s Myanmar…

  122. Booboo Says:

97- I think u are talking about honey boo-boo!! They had a fathead of her mom in the student section too lol from the show “here comes honey booboo”

  123. Rixter Says:

Brandon, did you ever think he world call it Kahlua Lampoon?

  124. Edd Says:

Can Ryan break down the elections and give his predictions for Malaysia?

  125. Travis ruins KSR everyday Says:

#111 He said biggest shot in Rupp. Learn to listen.

  126. Scott Says:

Ryan’s trying to start a East Coast West Coast war in Malaysia!!!

  127. EasyE523 Says:

If that shot went in I would have run straight to cheapside to take/help create “The Last Shot” – a curious mixture of Dry Gin (in the the spirit of Old Uncle Mays),blue caracao and absynthe. Shot can only be taken with the whole bar counting down from 5. Instead of taking the shot you can take the easy way out and offer it up to your bar buddy in the final 2 seconds. Most will choose to take their chances on their own inspired by the showing in Rupp, but will cite they weren’t aware of the option to pass it off as an excuse.

  128. DantheCat Says:

Matt…Do you know why they distributed the tickets for game day the way they did…Whay not give out all the lowers before you do the uppers…It would of looked much better for tv to have the lower arena filled snstead of folks scattered everywhere…

  129. Tennessee Wildcat Says:

BTW…Unfortunately, George Harrison passed away around 2003. The “I got my mind set on you” song was off of Harrison’s Cloud Nine album from 1987. I bought it while in college at WKU.

  130. RUPPS_rhetoric Says:

The Malaysian twin towers are the Petronas Towers. They were featured in the movie Entrapment with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Also don’t forget the Prime Minister of Malaysia, who barely escaped death at the hands of a hypnotized Derek Zoolander.

  131. Delk for 3 Says:

Wasn’t that caller talking about jump stops and Matt started talking about floaters?

  132. Kidnut Says:

I had a few big shots in Rupp during my time there. I would like to thank the flask on the inside pocket of my jacket.

  133. CatBlue in LR Says:

When you come to a jump-stop, you’re not supposed to be able to move either foot. You got to go back up off of two feet, or it’s a walk. Unfortunately, refs have gotten away from calling it that way, and guys are getting away with a hop, skip and a jump (so to speak).

  134. So_true Says:

I think Obama recently visited Malaysua

  135. drew the employee Says:

117 – nope. and you spelled Wilburys wrong

  136. Hardly Joe Says:

122 – I saw Honey Boo-Boo…this one was behind the stage and looked like an older picture.

  137. boDAVEcious Says:

If you are interested in escaping, Malaysia offers 90 day landing visa for US tourists and then you can jump across the border to Brunei every 3 months for a day trip and stay on that island forever, Kota Kinabalu is the main city

  138. hoag17 Says:

when I was at UK in mid – late 80′s, the student section was on the side line, right at half court… and the band was in section beside them…

  139. Jack Nicklaus Says:

Whats wrong w/ rich people spending alot of money?

  140. bleedblueky Says:

Matt – In Asia, Badminton is as popular as Tennis here and of course you can play badminton in your backyard (the court size should be smaller or similar to beach volley ball) :)

  141. Scott Says:

Matt, Unfortunatly I wasn’t able to make it to the game Saturday. I wanted to know if you thought it was as loud as the Indiana game last year during the tournament? I was at that game and it was LOUD!!

  142. Booboo Says:

136- sorry I’m not sure I saw that one

  143. Pyramid Scheme Says:

Don’t blame the Herald Leader for the donor expose. Blame that doofus running the massive multi-layered marketing scheme. Because of his monetary “investment” in the UK basketball program, he brought that scrutiny on all the others.

    http://www.kentucky.com/2013/01/28/2493747/federal-state-officials-send-workers.html

  144. Matt Says:

Matt I feel the same way about how the herald leader posts salaries of UK staff. I understand it for professor’s and surgeons making $200,000 a year but really is it necessary to post custodian’s salaries. that is just tacky!

  145. NYCWildcat Says:

The Petronas towers that Ryan is talking about in Malaysia were featured in the movie Entrapment. That movie is notable for Catherine Zeta Jones bending beneath lasers.

  146. Wayne Rooney Says:

The LHL didn’t even highlight 90% of our biggest boosters. They just picked people who had donated to the Wildcat Reserve in the last year. Even the donations of each of those people were not accurate or properly explained. They hurt UK by doing this as they effectively make it harder to raise money.

  147. Smitty Says:

    Matt,
You are just trying to keep all of your fingers.

  148. junkie262 Says:

Matt loves the Bachelor and the Big Brother live feed. I am pretty sure he would also watch his neighbors on a live webcam.

  149. Delk for 3 Says:

133 — I’m a referee and you are wrong. As long as the feet come down to the ground simultaneously, the player has the ability to use a pivot foot. Another variation of the rule allows for a jump, landing on one foot and then jumping again and landing on both feet. At that point though, you may not use a pivot.

  150. Wayne Rooney Says:

Did you guys see Derek’s twitter war after game with two different people?

  151. Cotton Mash Says:

Remember when Uncle Julius’ HS school coach wasn’t happy he picked UK?
Joe Luce, Mays’ high school coach in Marion, Ind., was not happy with the decision.

“Just think it’s a bad fit at Kentucky,” he tweeted. “I just want him to be happy and successful. Don’t think UK knows him.”

    http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2012-05-14/julius-mays-kentucky-wright-state-north-carolina-state

  152. Big Poppa Says:

Matt- Do you think UK has enough scholarship to give to some in state kid like Dominque Hawkins and still have enough for guys like Randle and wiggins if they wanna come?

  153. bleedblueky Says:

Could anyone let me know what is “Team NF”? Thanks!

  154. asees Says:

    what is team nf

  155. Bluegrass Says:

Someone please explain the team NF thing to me

  156. Delk for 3 Says:

I totally agree with that caller about the jump stops though. Archie Goodwin needs to watch tape on Tony Delk and ol’ double-zero would show him how it’s done.

  157. Rixter Says:

    I have a NASCAR question:

If you have a protective fence around the grandstand that isn’t sturdy enough to protect fans, is it just there to obstruct the view?
That would be like having single strength glass around a hockey arena or a cargo net for a baseball backstop screen…..

  158. inlinefor9 Says:

#154 Team NF = No Freaks

  159. Digger Sucks Says:

For ESPN to toss the Team NF sign outta Rupp is just silly! #DiggerStillSucks

  160. inlinefor9 Says:

Well at least that’s the PG term.

  161. Team NF? Says:

    Can someone explain?

  162. CJtrueblue Says:

Think dude got kicked out for humping the guy next to him?

  163. Trav Says:

Matt, how big of an impact do you think this game had on FOOTBALL recruiting? I don’t think jr day could have fallen on a better weekend with a better atmosphere. The momentum the stoops staff has is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in this program and rupp rocking with game day and an exciting overtime win had to be fun for any recruits there.

  164. Turner the Burner Says:

    157. It did the job that it is meant to do. It stopped the engine from going into the stands. The pieces that got through are the small pieces that broke off in the crash.

  165. Delk for 3 Says:

CatBlue in LR — I hope you read post #149 so your misunderstanding about that rule is cleared up.

  166. RealCatsFan Says:

97.5% of the Louisville trolls on KSR need “The Total Transformation”…

  167. Pikeville25 Says:

Matt, u were just talking about how Julius seems to have one of those shots that come at the most important time during the game and Saturday was no different. The shot clock shot was huge, but he had another one that put us up four, he’s mr. Clutch!

  168. inlinefor9 Says:

#157 There’s not a lot more that can be done. I think it’s an accepted risk. If a car flies at a fence going 200 mph, the results aren’t going to be perfect.

  169. Kidnut Says:

For once can we talk about Malaysia without bringing up Credit Card fraud?

  170. KC Says:

    Matt,

Mays’ HS coach wanted him to go to Purdue instead of UK because he thought he would have a bigger impact and he is friends with Painter.

  171. inlinefor9 Says:

The guy in the sweater vest in the picture above looks like someone that would have refused to stand at the game.

  172. NYCWildcat Says:

Kudos to Thompson for calling it the way she sees it. They are “blue hairs”, and they can be incredibly annoying. Case in point is that lady berating Thompson for something like that.

  173. BaldyInMendo Says:

I don’t know if u guys remember my pic from last Easter where I was holding three goggles on Doron, one of triplet lambs miraculously born here in Mendocino, CA during the UK vs UL Final Four game. It saddens me to have to share with you guys that Doron is no longer with us. In spite of my efforts to save him, he was sent to the slaughter house where he will be processed, frozen and eventually eaten by a bunch of dirty hippies who refuse to eat beef “on principle”, refuse to eat McDonalds because “it’s poison” but smoke cigarettes and hate on sports as a waste of time while they spend the afternoon in a drum circle. Doron, you did not die in vain. Your memory lives in the hearts of the BBN forever. Think we can get the team to dedicate the Miss St game to him and wear a patch in his honor? #RememberDoronLamb

  174. Roland Says:

The Team NF was discussed in another post.
    The most expressed definement was
    N= No
F= a word that rhymes with ducks.
smooth about a phrase a recent former UK player was quoted(?) as saying after/during a game.

  175. Laker Cat 18 Says:

Coach Cal and UK was the main topic in the final minutes of the Thunder’s blowout of the Bulls last night. With 4 UK alum playing for the two teams and Rose. Did anyone else hear it?

  176. C Ray Says:

The biggest shots ever made for UK were the 5 straight halfcourt heaves made in a roll from Josh Carrier…. Granted, they were in practice.. But still huge. #Beast

  177. B Mac Says:

I was at the Florida game when Meeks hit the 3 to win the game when Florida was ranked and UK was headed to the NIT under Billy Clyde. I wouldn’t say that it would be bigger than what Mays shot would have been, but that is in the top of big shots at Rupp. The crowd Friday night was amazing. I got to take a picture with Samantha Ponder afterwards, she supported the 3 goggles with me.

  178. Roland Says:

smooth word above was suppose to be “something “

  179. Scott Says:

The lady that called Tyler is lucky that it was Tyler. I think Drew would have told her to have a Coke and a smile and shut the F up!

  180. Lpool03 Says:

I wish she would write a whole piece about the blue-hairs. The purpose of going to a game is to cheer your team on to victory; not sit in you seat with your arms folded and nod-off. The most fun I have ever had at a UK game (and the loudest I have ever been to) is when we played ND in freedom hall 2 years ago and there weren’t very many blue-hairs there.

  181. Scott Says:

Matt, Are there podcast of your post game shows out there?

  182. joe Says:

Why wouldn’t harrow be back? He’s only a sophmore. If cal is giving up on him that is silly. He didn’t give up on liggins, and that turned out to be a pretty good decision. Harrow could be really good by his senior year.

  183. Rett Says:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola#Coca_.E2.80.93_cocaine

  184. thick rick Says:

This is a video of the UK Dancing Guy celebrating at Toasted Barrel after the Missouri game!! This is awesome!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbXK3uti1Ow

  185. Craig Says:

Matt, there wasn’t a LOT of cocaine in it, but it got the name coca-cola because coca leaves and cola nut were the two big ingredients. A small amount of cocaine was in the beverage, enough to cause a small effect. But this was back around 1900 when things like coca and morphine were available over the counter.

  186. Ernie In Waddie Says:

Coke was made at pharmacies by pharmacist and the cocaine was added for therapeutic reasons. Just as a side note, Pepsi was originally made to soothe upset stomach, hence the name PEPsi.

  187. DantheCat Says:

Matt…STOP IT!!…As long as we don’t lose over 1-2 more we are in good shape…No sec team with 12 conf. wins has not made the tourney…

  188. ktmiln2 Says:

Coca-Cola was originally marketed as a medicine, and did contain coca leaf extract. There is also one company which still imports coca for medical cocaine use, and Coca-Cola buys the used leaves for flavoring

  189. The King Says:

It’s common knowledge that the world’s most famous secret recipe once contained cocaine; what’s less known is that Coke still uses a coca leaf extract made by the Stepan Company (SCL), the only company in the U.S. that is allowed to process cocaine.

  190. Bluegrass Says:

Pemberton called for five ounces of coca leaf per gallon of syrup, a significant dose; in 1891, Candler claimed his formula (altered extensively from Pemberton’s original) contained only a tenth of this amount. Coca-Cola once contained an estimated nine milligrams of cocaine per glass. In 1903, it was removed.[40]

After 1904, instead of using fresh leaves, Coca-Cola started using “spent” leaves – the leftovers of the cocaine-extraction process with trace levels of cocaine.[41] Coca-Cola now uses a cocaine-free coca leaf extract prepared at a Stepan Company plant in Maywood, New Jersey.

In the United States, the Stepan Company is the only manufacturing plant authorized by the Federal Government to import and process the coca plant,[42] which it obtains mainly from Peru and, to a lesser extent, Bolivia. Besides producing the coca flavoring agent for Coca-Cola, the Stepan Company extracts cocaine from the coca leaves, which it sells to Mallinckrodt, a St. Louis, Missouri, pharmaceutical manufacturer that is the only company in the United States licensed to purify cocaine for medicinal use.[43]

  191. BlueRedNeck Says:

I hope we do not have a listless, flat crowd for the game against Miss St. wednesday night. Andrew Wiggins will be at that game for his official visit, so hopefully the crowd will be alive, but I am worried that we will have a hangover from the weekend, and MSU is terrible. I will be in section 23 making all the blue hairs around me mad! :)

  192. Jacob Adam Brooks Says:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola

    Not a myth

  193. NYCWildcat Says:

Fun Fact: Mountain Dew originally was made from runoff from Chained Rock.

  194. J in Orlando Says:

187 That was based on a 16 game SEC schedule…different ballgame with an 18 game SEC schedule…12-6 against THIS SEC isnt even close to comparable with 12-4 vs most other years

  195. FinjaDave Says:

    Matt –

Have we ever heard if Clooney is a UK fan? We know he’s a big basketball fan.

  196. Rixter Says:

We need a Blue Hair Fathead..with actual blue hair!

  197. DantheCat Says:

Matt…I saw video of Dancing guy out partying…I think he could take you in a contest…LOL…I apoligize for telling you to shut your mouth…

  198. Tim Sullivan is a Clown Says:

Can you talk about Tim Sullivan and his article about glorifying Clint Hurtt last week and then bashin UK fans on Twitter this weekend. He needs our wrath!!

  199. Db11 Says:

I have a friend who gets Wildcat Reserve tickets from time to time and who does he always bring? A louisville/florida fan!!!

  200. Larry Conley's Earlobes Says:

    More Turley Curd please.

  201. Jimmy Dykes Caddy Says:

Erin Andrews did a great job of guarding her yard against the half dollar guy!

  202. The King Says:

Kyle Wiljter looks like Money Maker Mike from Krispy Kreme (now froggy fresh)

    http://www.krispykremerap.com/about-krispy-kreme

  203. CatsFanInKnoxville Says:

Matt’s attempt to make the caller a racist backfired when he said his other favorites were Noel and Poythress. He was totally expecting him to say Polson…and Brian Long.

  204. Rixter Says:

Kyle is one of the best post passers I’ve ever seen

  205. kyrgaines Says:

Kyle may need to practice adjusting to shooting w/o taking the full stop, set, and shoot routine… He’s so good of a shooter, we need him attempting more, even if the are quicker, I like his chances.

  206. cats1068 Says:

Matt, that’s horse S! The WHOLE team can’t play defense. How many times have the guards been beat off of the dribble? How many times have shooters been wide effin open? Our defense as a whole besides Wiltjer has been awful this year. So that lack of defense excuse is turrible.

  207. John Juan Says:

Matt you’re Dickie V’s BFF. You mean to tell me you didn’t go up and get his meal from the concession stands for him. What a terrible friend!

  208. Delk for 3 Says:

Maybe in the press room Vitale is limited to that, but I’m sure he can enter the K-Fund Club and help himself to the pretty good food they have in there.

  209. John from Cincinnati Says:

What’s the deal with Dancing Guy? Does anyone know him?

  210. Jimmy Dykes Caddy Says:

I made a rim run to Starbucks this morning but hurried home to guard my yard!

  211. Jimmy Dykes Caddy Says:

Matt, do you have a press pass to ride on Jimmy Dykes’ plane?

  212. inlinefor9 Says:

Some people just get mad that Wiltjer doesn’t play 100% of the time for the same reason they think Polson and Hood should get major minutes….

  213. cats1068 Says:

The WHOLE teams has played bad defense. How many times have you seen Goodwin and Harrow get beat off of the dribble? Time and time again. But no one ever mentions their poor defense. EVER! Just saying….

  214. inlinefor9 Says:

#203 I agree but I think Matt automatically went to that because it’s become so common this season. Been pretty embarrassing.

  215. Edd Says:

88 MPH dodgeball – That would leave a mark.

  216. cats1068 Says:

I get mad when people overlook other players defensive defencies. We have been the WORST on the ball defensive team we have had in a long time. Just pay attention the next game and count the times our guys get beat off of the dribble.

  217. Turner the Burner Says:

This guy holds the fastest throw record in the UK @ 66 mph.

    http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/norfolk_teenager_a_star_at_dodgeball_1_682266

  218. The King Says:

    Matt,

I’m not really upset about anything, however I feel left out by not having anything to complain about. With that said, why doesn’t John Hood play more often and why do you deny dodge ball throwing records?

  219. Hawk Says:

record from Hopkins is 81 mph

    http://kykernel.com/2013/02/06/uk-dodgeball-team-hosting-nationals/

  220. B Mac Says:

He can throw it 81, according to this website.

    http://kykernel.com/2013/02/06/uk-dodgeball-team-hosting-nationals/

  221. Travis Says:

I want to believe Dustin. Matt doubted me on the North Hollywood shoot out. We saw how that turned out…

“so famous I have never heard about it??” Lol

  222. UK2K Says:

Matt…Fastest baseball pitch ever recorded is Aroldis Chapman of the Reds @ 105

  223. Twin Condiments Says:

88 mph dodgeball makes him the deadliest man on the planet with balls!

  224. Bob Cobb Says:

If the ball is a bit underinflated you can throw it extremely hard. You have to squeeze it with your fingers in such a way that it creates a handle and use it as an extra lever.

  225. quickie Says:

Matt was smacked down and will not admit it.

  226. Kidnut Says:

Kid on the Cubs was throwing over 115MPH but he hurt his arm and his velocity was never the same.

  227. Jack Nicklaus Says:

My neighbor’s kid holds the Big Wheel speed record….look it up!

  228. Sparky624 Says:

I heard that one time Ryan threw a medicine ball 81 mph !!!!!

  229. Delk for 3 Says:

Dodge ball is supposed to be fun. You start throwing it 80 mph at me, then I’m not having fun.

  230. Jjkee Says:

    Matt,
If Archie would have gotten the pass and dunks to win it. Is it ok for the students to rush?

  231. TylerJohnsonKSR Says:

I interviewed Wes Hopkins for KSR College and put it on the site last night. He talks about his throwing record and the team preparing for Nationals.

    http://ksrcollege.com/?p=14943

  232. John Sebastian Says:

Do you think the 96′ team is coming to the Mississippi State game because that is one of the only teams we lost to that year, and they went to the final four? Kind of like a rub it in their face thing that we went all the way that year.

  233. big j dawg Says:

This summer you can do a show that is only singing

  234. Bulldawg Says:

I remember Ben Aflec in Dazed and Confused. He was an awesome bully and really nailed that character.

  235. quickie Says:

    230 No

  236. inlinefor9 Says:

Can we all agree that Seth McFarland was a big improvement from recent hosts?

  237. GummyBear Says:

Ryan: “I didn’t watch one minute of it.”
    Matt: “Argo won Best Picture.”
    Ryan: “Yeah, I saw that.”

  238. big j dawg Says:

230- there is no possible scenario where it would be “OK” for UK to rush the court in basketball.
If that were to happen, that would be the lowest point in Kentucky basketball history ( lower than the Billy Clyde era or Probation)

  239. Jimmy Dykes Caddy Says:

Part of the problem with UK’s lack of guard defense stems from the fact that with having Davis and Noel inside over the past two years the defensive strategy has been to force opposing guards to drive the lane where the best shot blockers in the country were waiting. Now that Noel is out we do not have that presents, however it takes a lot of adjusting to change that strategy now. Having stated that, our guards are not the quickest and therefore this team will likely continue to get beat off the dribble.

  240. zg Says:

im pretty sure it wasnt 98 when michigan state won it :)

  241. bleedblueky Says:

Matt – I was SO disappointed that you didn’t mention a word about the most awarded movie “Life of PI” directed by Ang Lee (my favorite Taiwanese director) :(

  242. quickie Says:

Plans should be made for a show where everybody, including the callers must sing.

  243. DrSayre Says:

Did anyone go to the Bob and Tom Comedy All-Star tour this weekend? I heard the the show was memorable, but you would not remember anything about it. Glad that commercial is off the air now!

  244. inlinefor9 Says:

#230 It will never be acceptable for UK to rush the court. We are the best program in the history of basketball. No win justifies it for UK.

  245. So_true Says:

Anne Hathaway looked gorgeous. In an Audrey Hepburn kind of way. Why only comment on her short hair??

  246. Trav Says:

    175
I heard that too. It was awesome and they were being very complimentary of cal too. Awesome stuff to hear.

  247. CatsFanInKnoxville Says:

    214) Yes, it has been very bad this season.

  248. Doc Brown Says:

Once Marty McFly threw a dodgeball 88 miles an hour and it went back in time.

  249. J in Orlando Says:

238 After winning the title, yes, but no reason to ever do it at Rupp.

  250. Scott Says:

If this guy could get his throw up to 88 mph and get a flux compasador than he could time travel.

  251. NBDA Says:

That website, if you click on Kentucky it does show that he did throw 81…lol

  252. C Ray Says:

Rick Pitino holds a record… Look it up!! I won’t elaborate any further.

  253. FOOTBALL CAT Says:

Hey MATT Can we get A Football recruting update please!!!!!!!!!

  254. Webster Says:

Thuderacious is a word!!!! Look it up!

  255. DantheCat Says:

    Matt…Ask Bill O’Reilly if “thunderacious” is a word…He can tell you…

  256. Dude Your Not Funny Says:

@264 the joke has been played out.

  257. big j dawg Says:

J in Orlando- I disagree with that as well. I was in New Orleans last year for the championship and it never crossed my mind, or anybody around me in the UK’s section to do such.
We are the most elite program in college basketball history.
We should expect to win every game.
Would Alabama rush the field for winning a football game?
    Never.
Can it be justified for UK, ever?
    Never

  258. inlinefor9 Says:

Thadeus Snodgrass will host his signing at Hogwarts next week

  259. J in Orlando Says:

257 I wouldn’t blame anyone for doing it then…and only then

  260. Delk for 3 Says:

    Check this website out: http://www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/dance.htm
I like it better than bracketology.

  261. Mike Says:

Is that snooki in the picture? Go big blue

  262. Jimmy Dykes Caddy Says:

No, UK fans should never rush the court.
3257, fans cannot rush the court after final four games.
Too much security and must keep floor clear for the after game ceremony.
Although, I agree that UK fans should not rush after a championship either.

  263. Andy Says:

Why do people call in wanting a white-boy on the court? No one ever called when Twanny was healthy and wasn’t getting in saying, “Why isn’t Twanny playing?”

  264. Jimmy Dykes Caddy Says:

    I meant to type # 257.
Again too much security to rush the floor after a championship game…it never happens.

  265. cats1068 Says:

263- I could care less if he is white. He is our best shooter and when he is in the game, the offense opens up because of his shooting. You watch the first 4 minutes of the game and we always struggle until he comes in. And our defense isn’t that good anyways, so him being in there isn’t that much worse than we already have in there.

  266. big j dawg Says:

    264-259
I don’t know if there is ever “too much” security for 35,000 people stampeding a court.
If people wanted to do it, it couldn’t necessarily be stopped

  267. Jimmy Dykes Caddy Says:

I have been to 6 final fours and it has never happened.
After a championship game security lines the entire court.
Also, winning fans want to watch their team receive the hardware.
Yes, there is enough security and it does not happen.

  268. Jimmy Dykes Caddy Says:

    Good day all!
Don’t forget to “guard your yard.”

  269. What about me?? Says:

I recall Rondo hitting a fadeaway 3 pointer at the buzzer to beat someone. Maybe Florida? I just remember being there…..

  270. What about me?? Says:

    South Carolina??
