Well, it’s not all good news in the world of Kentucky basketball this weekend. Matthew Mitchell’s Hoops squad was down in Baton Rouge today, and lost a tough one to LSU, 77-72. UK entered the half down 11, 43-32, and despite closing the gap late, just couldn’t pull it out in the end. A’dia Mathies had 20 points and 6 rebounds for the Cats, while Theresa Plaisance of the Lady Tigers had 20 points and 13 rebounds in the win.
The Cats will only have a few days to work out the kinks, as they’re on the road yet again on Thursday at Ole Miss.

Unfortunately this loss takes the path to a regular season SEC championship out of their control. For some reason we can’t solve the LSU tigers 2-3 zone and lose our patience. We were something like 6 of 20 behind the arc and LSU made 16 of 22 free throws compared to 8 of 10 for UK. Hard to win with those numbers.

It does appear that the ladies are trying to take a page out of the men’s book on striving for mediocrity. They seem to have some confidence and chemistry problems as well.

By virtue UK and Texas A & M going down and Tennessee’s victory, a share of me has already arrived in Knoxville.

At least it was the women’s team so no one cares. Let’s focus on the big win last night.

@8- Mike – Attacking women’s sports now? Maybe you are bored or just a fan acting out your own frustrations. Anyway, I doubt you are supporting UK at any level, so just come out and say you only want to be a distraction and admit no one cares what you have to add to the conversation.
