Has anyone else seen Julian Newman? He’s an 11 year old (5th grader) starting for his varsity high school basketball team. He averages 12.4 point/game, 10.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 4.1 steals. Video is impressive.

Barn Burner refers to a grand spectacle. Barns are full of hay, fuel and other highly flammable material, so when a barn burns, it can be see from far away and people will come to watch it.

There is never an excuse to leave the game early if you are a fan. Those athletes out there are playing for the school. They need the support of the fans win or lose. Put yourself in the shoes of the athlete, male or female, and you look up and see fans leaving the event. How would that make you feel? It’s different if it’s a professional event, but college athletics? no. never.

I don’t know if u guys remember my pic from last Easter where I was holding three goggles on Doron, one of triplet lambs miraculously born here in Mendocino, CA during the UK vs UL Final Four game. It saddens me to have to share with you guys that Doron is no longer with us. In spite of my efforts to save him, he was sent to the slaughter house where he will be processed, frozen and eventually eaten by a bunch of dirty hippies who refuse to eat beef “on principle”, refuse to eat McDonalds because “it’s poison” but smoke cigarettes and hate on sports as a waste of time while they spend the afternoon in a drum circle. Doron, you did not die in vain. Your memory lives in the hearts of the BBN forever. Think we can get the team to dedicate the Mizzou game to him and wear a patch in his honor? #RememberDoronLamb

I attend both UK men’s and women’s games and often find the Memorial games for the women have better atmospheres than most games I attend in Rupp. When the women get in a tight game Memorial gets really,really loud and fun.

Blue hairs need to recognize that those 17 year olds are the ones actually paying tuition and attending UK. K-Club needs to get off their high horse, and recognize this is COLLEGE athletics and the true fans are not the ones that fall asleep during games and leave early, its the ones standing in line for hours for tickets and cgoing crazy for their Cats.

Just stopped a rocking lesson on quadratic equations, when I realized one of my better students is from Mexico and thus speaks Spanish. Made the whole class get quiet and then threw on yesterday’s pod cast to see if my boy Oscar could decipher Ernie’s message from the post game show.
The verdict according to Oscar… it was definitely Spanish (so probably not a terrorist cell) and though it was muffled he heard “Como” Which means “How”… and then he heard “esta bien” which means “it’s okay”.
Was a little disappointed it wasn’t more exciting than that. Back to joy of teaching math!

I remember game at freedom hall a guy I knew was w/ his son and was moaning about him not being able to see cause everyone one was standing. He wanted me to sit down in the middle of a tied ballgame w/ under 2 minutes left. I said sorry bout it! put the kid on your shoulders cause I ain’t sittin! Kid figured out on his own to move out into the isle to see.
