There was a ton of great stuff from last night’s game, and you better believe we’re going to go over it all. Here are some leftovers that deserve their time to shine:
– Since the Tennessee game on Saturday, Willie Cauley-Stein has been very active on Twitter, calling out the team’s “fake fans,” praising the ones that stick with the team through the thick and thin, and retweeting the most offensive tweets he received. Not surprisingly, many of those tweets came from other teams’ fans, specifically Indiana. “We don’t even play Indiana.”
Odds HOO HOO was one of them?
– You think the new intro video got you hyped up? Imagine being one of the players. Willie said that while they were filming the video, he thought it was “silly,” but once he saw the finished product during the starting lineups, that he got so excited and hyped up that he “teared up” a little bit. Me too, Willie.
– Archie three: “It was a great video. I actually, in my opinion, like it better than the last one. It was just a video of motivation and we all liked it and it was pretty good.”
– Remember those comments Cal made after the Tennessee game about his players not being real coachable? Forget them. After backing off them in the following days, Cal opened his postgame presser with the comment “They were very coachable tonight. Anybody hear any comments from the bench that we could put on PTI?”
– Archie Goodwin said he knew Cal was caught up in the moment when he made those remarks after the Tennessee loss: “I know I’m coachable.”
– Speaking of Archie, did he borrow Willie’s hipster glasses after the game?
– Dodgeball had such a positive effect on the guys that they already have a game of wiffle ball planned for Friday night. What’s next, four square?

the best part about that play was it got #34 out of the game … the couple of plays before that dunk when vandy had the ball, that dude just ran around and screened our guys constantly just trying to be physical

Great game last night! You could tell the energy on the team has improved! The only thing that really aggrevated me last night was they for some reason cannot guard the high pick and rollllllllllllll……. Kyle comes way to high on it and ends up getting burned and its just not Kyle Noel and had the same problem getting sucked to high for the pick guarding his man and then couldnt recover quick enough to defend the rolllllllll or pick up the slasher… i noticed WCS laid back closer to the freethrow line when he was guarding it and he was able to recover easier to guard it. Keep it ROlllllllllling boys see you all Sat night!

I saw what I hoped to see last night. Improvement! They played HARD. They showec patience and discipline. They must now build on that, one game at a time.
Very happy for the team and pleased with the improvement. GO BIG BLUE!!

for the turds that keep saying “it was only Vandy” and moaning that we should’ve won by more: all year long this team has shown that it will play just about anyone close…they played Duke close, they played the dirty birds close, and unfortunately they play crappy teams close too (with the exception of Auburn blow-out). When Nerlens was injured, we wondered if they’d be able to win AT ALL. They got blown out by TN. So what did they do last night? They played a close game and won. Is this a National Championship team? Most likely not. But they have shown potential to still be competitive. Saturday will tell us a lot.

I had fun watching the game last night. I saw TONS of improvment from the UT game and even saw Kyle dive to the floor for a loose ball, which is the first time that has happened since he has been at UK. I do hope however that all those that keep saying “put Hood in” will now be quiet. I don’t think I have ever seen a worse 30 seconds of play than I saw out of him last night. Great improvement by Archie, WCS, and Harrow though.

@ #5… Yeah, “Tubby”, it’s worked wonders for you lately, hasn’t it? Since starting 15-1, you’ve gone 3-8, and 1-4 in the last 5. Way to “charge” your boys up.

You were a high school football player …… so ….. this is hoops, take off all your football gear ……. the padded elbows and knees …. the compression sleeves …. I’ll allow the knee brace after the “MINOR” surgical procedure, you need it for your psyche, kinda like your teddy bear …. the vaunted, unneeded, —- headband —– supposedly for “SWEAT” which you haven’t done all year ……. once you get in your uniform with ALL your full regalia on … look in a full length mirror and you will see how “Emmet Kelly” you really are !!!
This is why Cats opponents think your a clown ….. big OL’ 7 foot clownish dude, big clumsy footed, weak handed foolish lookin’ brick shootin’ w e a k playin’ CLOWN dressed nit ……… I started listening to UK games in 1955 and have LOVED 99.9% of the players that played for UK … bbbbbuuuuuuttttt, there’s NOT MUCH to like about your team Willie, let alone love ……. LOL
