“Where you been, man?
Welcome back, Ryan Harrow. You’ve been missed.
Harrow played a complete game and was the star of the show in Kentucky’s 74-70 win over Vanderbilt. He finished with 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting, five rebounds and four assists, but more importantly, he played with toughness and aggression on both ends. It was the Ryan Harrow fans have been dying to see for over a month now and Kentucky can be a completely different team if he keeps it up in these last five games.
It wasn’t all Harrow, though; Willie Cauley-Stein also had a breakout game. Willie scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Wildcats and made a number of crucial plays down the stretch to hold the lead.
Archie Goodwin added 16 of his own.
We’ll have more in just a bit…

How often can you say that Ryan Lemmond was right? I think he predicted cats by 4 or 6.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:18 pm
We are who we are hopefully the crowd can help us with Mizzou, win the easy ones and probably drop Florida then win a few in the SEC tourney
February 20th, 2013 at 10:19 pm
cats played better than the score, good game, like the fire they was playin with
February 20th, 2013 at 10:19 pm
I’m not complaining, this was a hard fought game, but RH kinda disappeared in the second half…..he needs to play the entire game.
We hafta play a whole lot better Saturday……Go CATS!
February 20th, 2013 at 10:22 pm
Finally the CATS showed some hustle tonight, Good win I’ll take it.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:22 pm
Yes, we beat a top 10 Vandy team. This awesome win will put us in the dance. We were impressive. Wiltjer’s old man post up game is going to take us to another title.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:22 pm
Way too many lay ups for Vandy…..uncontested at that we cannot play this passive the rest of the season. Archie and Alex played the best game tonight. I thought there was a lot of emotion with those two guys….GO CATS!!!!!!
February 20th, 2013 at 10:23 pm
We have to beat Mizzou because we WILL NOT win at Arkansas
February 20th, 2013 at 10:23 pm
Nice win. Vandy played hard.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:25 pm
We are very lucky to get the W. Vandy outplayed and outscored us 2nd half in a must win game on our home court. We still suck as well. Poythress is now a liability on offense. We can’t get any steals or force any turnovers, we have no 3 pt. defense or offense for that matter, we have no interior defense when WCS not on floor and no interior when he isn’t in either.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:25 pm
Uk played with fire. It was great. Vandy doesn’t shoot that well they played they’re best game of the season and still lost
February 20th, 2013 at 10:26 pm
Vandy blows and uahk only won by 4 points. UK sucks, end of story. No need for that hick to do a postgame show.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:26 pm
I hope that those last 2 min in the first half, put to bed the Polson, Hood, Mays, Wiltjer line up suggestions…
February 20th, 2013 at 10:26 pm
agree 8, they looked alot better, even if alexs stats wasnt that great, he played with alot of energy… defense was a lil off but hey, they used to playin with the the broom,
February 20th, 2013 at 10:27 pm
The selection commitee has said in the past that they don’t really consider the conference tourney play. So short of automatic bids earned by winning them teams have to create their resume in the regular season. The cats better beat either beat mizzou, Florida or get very hot in Nashville.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:27 pm
#7 – very clever! See what ya did there
Your probably from some big metropolitan city with a population of like 300,000!!! And great rap artists and skinny awkward white kids who are all like thugs despite growing up in Clay Co. all kinds of stuff! Woohoo! You must be proud….
February 20th, 2013 at 10:28 pm
#7 kiss Wiltjer’s big white aZZ. Nice going Uvel Troll
Defination of Uvel Troll: An insimpient lackadasial sh!t eating reptile who dwells on another person income who just so happens to live under an intercity bridge and relies on others for support…..YEP a Uvel graduate!
February 20th, 2013 at 10:28 pm
Some of the players played to their potential. If Poythress would get on board, this team would become much better. Our keys of making the tournament are that Harrow and Cauley-Stein play like they did tonight, and Poythress play with heart. Goodwin is just going to continue to worry about himself. More than likely not going to happen, but they have the potential.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:28 pm
Vandy is going to the CBI tourney and we beat them by 4. The game should count as a loss.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:30 pm
Know whats funny? This Cals worst team and Pitino has his best team and if UK makes the tourney, BOTH teams are no better than sweet 16. lol
February 20th, 2013 at 10:31 pm
Waiting for oldschool to post …. oh wait Kentucky won .. nevermind
February 20th, 2013 at 10:32 pm
These guys came out with a whole new attitude tonight. lets give them our support so that they can continue to play with a fire in their belly, knowing that their fans are behind them. They have the talent but this is a head game and their heads have not been in the right place. Go young Cats!
February 20th, 2013 at 10:32 pm
13 get off the computer and get back to work. These burgers aren’t going to flip themselves.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:33 pm
was that josh harrelson behind the bench and who was that barbie doll 80′s hair girl?
February 20th, 2013 at 10:34 pm
at least they fought
February 20th, 2013 at 10:34 pm
14 those fries need your attention. And clean the bathroom when you’re done with those.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:34 pm
thats right 23, if people actually watch the game and not listn to the commentating or stat lines, then you could c how much better they playd
February 20th, 2013 at 10:35 pm
It hurts when I pee
February 20th, 2013 at 10:36 pm
Their attitude was a lot better tonight, aside from a few eye rolls from Harrow. I liked seeing the lob. I don’t care about margin of victory as long as they show that they still want to play.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:36 pm
I bet the ticket sales for Gameday will go up after tonight.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:36 pm
I don’t understand why these old farts leave early from the game and stop supporting the team…never know when we’ll play this well or win again.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:38 pm
20) Vandy is 10-15 they aren’t even goood even to go to the CBI.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:38 pm
#25, Jorts was at game…he was the Y tonight.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:40 pm
I like that the UK players competed to win tonight, keep it up the rest of the season.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:41 pm
Harrow is a joke & so is this article
February 20th, 2013 at 10:42 pm
Cats could have rolled over tonight but they got the win instead. We wanted to see if they still had a will to win after the UT game and they showed they do and that’s all I asked for tonight. It’s been a baby steps season, painful to watch, but with some thrills thrown in along the way. Regardless if we end up in the NCAA or NIT tourney, I’m still cheering for the CATS. There’s no miracle on our horizon, but if you’re a fan you support your team.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:43 pm
#29, drink a lot of cranberry juice, take stool softners, eat whole grain cereal and take Tylonol for pain. However, if your erection last more than 4 hours consult your Dr. Also, stay away from Italian restaurants!
February 20th, 2013 at 10:44 pm
Unfortunately, this team will go as Harrow goes. He was good in the first half, so was UK. Mediocre in the 2nd half, so was UK.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:47 pm
Loving all the haters!
February 20th, 2013 at 10:47 pm
I know we had a lengthy draught, which I think is from lack of consistent post scoring. I think Mayes had two good looks, Wiltjer wide open, and another open look for Harrow that all narrowly missed. When you can’t dump it in the post for a bucket or foul to stop the bleeding, the game gets tight. Alex missed that quick baseline jumper and you couldn’t have fit a quarter between those cheeks.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:47 pm
30 and 31 I sure hope so….Dammit 13, you Uvel master grads still can’t get that drive thru thing down can you?
Vandy played one of there best games tonight. Besides both UK games I’ve seen 3 other games this year and they didn’t have nowhere near the luck that they had at Rupp tonight. Damn near everything they shot above the arc went in tonight. Vandy had 2 guys to leave the bench, wasn’t that a tech? I would’ve thought it was since they were evicted from the game….What ever, I’ll take this win qall day long…..GREAT game Cats!
February 20th, 2013 at 10:48 pm
Offense was better. Still had a long fg drought in the 2nd half. But better. Effort was 100% better. Defense was awful with WCS in. With him out it was the Johnson Co 7th grade Bteam defense. No wait. My apologies. That was insulting to the players… on the 7th grade team.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:51 pm
39 I disagree. I thought harrow was solid in the second half. He didn’t score much, but he took care of the ball, got a few boards, and made some nice decisions that led to some wide open shots. Unfortunately we didn’t knock many of them down.Definitely a step in the right direction.IMO
February 20th, 2013 at 10:53 pm
NOW I REMEMBER WHY I LOVE MY WILDCATS!!! THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH!!! THE CATS PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT!!!
February 20th, 2013 at 10:55 pm
Willie was the star – leads in scoring including a ten footer that could herald big things to come, and his two blocks are the difference in a four point game.
February 20th, 2013 at 10:58 pm
A win is a win. It was good to see the CATS play with some passion tonight. I like Harrow showing some fight. Now we need another good game Saturday. GO BIG BLUE!!r
February 20th, 2013 at 11:00 pm
Go Cats! A huge WIN!
Keep the BIG MO!!!!!
February 20th, 2013 at 11:03 pm
How did Cal miss on Marcus Smart!!…..kids a player.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:04 pm
Good game for WCS but their perimeter D is just god awful. When they had a chances to get the lead up past 12, Vandy would just come down and hit a three or Bill Dozer would call timeout and they would score on a multiple screen play. I hate to be a Debbie downer but I just don’t see it getting any better.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:07 pm
#48 A huge WIN??? Seriously? A 4 point home victory over a 10-15 Vandy team that sucks!! Stick a fork in UK!! They are done!!!
February 20th, 2013 at 11:07 pm
Yea we beat a team that has a RPI of 140 by 4 points at home. Yea!!!!!! WCS dominated a team that is rated lower than some team named Bryant(who probably couldn’t beat Kobe by himself), Green Bay(Not the Packers),Pacific(Who cannot throw the ball in an ocean) and something called FGCU. Get ready to hang number nine!!!!!!!!!!
February 20th, 2013 at 11:09 pm
The announcers said that two Vandy players were ejected for leaving the bench late in the second half when Harrow got in a little dust up after the held possession. Box score shows that Harrow and Jeter were called for Ts. Anyone have any insight on that? Over all I thought the Cats played with more passion than they have for awhile. Officiating still sucks, but the Cats over came that this game. Now, can the players maintain this fire throughout the rest of the season? Saturday will be a better test.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:17 pm
52)if you don’t wanna support these guys, quit watching this year, and jump back on the bandwagon next year.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:24 pm
I’ve been a fan for longer than you have been alive. I just think its funny how people on here are ready to drink the blue cool aide again after we beat a horrible team by 4 at home. Mizzouri will let you know how “far” we came tonight.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:42 pm
55) maybe you’re right.maybe mizzou blows them out. However TONIGHT I’m proud of these guys for responding with some fight after sat. And this sat I will be cheering them on like crazy. Not sarcastically like youself.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:46 pm
55) fan of who?? Certainly not uk.
February 21st, 2013 at 12:02 am
55, I was listening to Cawood in the late 50′s so my guess I’m a fan, but here’s the thing, I’ve seen Vandy play at 5 times this year, and without a doubt they were shooting better beyond the arc tonight than they had the 5 times I’ve seen them tonight. It’s a win reguardless! If you’re disappointed, well if you go to root for IU or Uvel your disappointment will be yet to come…..EAT SH!T!!!!!!!
February 21st, 2013 at 12:12 am
So maybe this will stop the so called “fans” from hating on our team and declaring this season a failure. They played their hearts out tonight and it was actually not as close as the score would suggest. Even if they get blown out by Mizzou, we know where their hearts are so that should be enough to get some support from us fans.
February 21st, 2013 at 12:13 am
Swear though.. if goodwin converted that windmill lob.. I’d be done.
