We’ll just ignore what Kyrie Irving did to Mr. Knight later in the weekend.
Kentucky’s season certainly took a sharp turn in the wrong direction last week. While trailing Florida, star center and future NBA Lottery Pick, Nerlens Noel, tore his ACL when chasing down a breakaway lay-up attempt. The following games weren’t any prettier than the horrific injury either. Of course, consecutive blowouts from arch-rivals are rarely attractive in the eyes of anyone with eyes. While the current edition of Wildcats are struggling to find their post-Nerlens identity, an entirely different group of Cats are playing a much higher level of basketball. As it currently stands, there are 19 former Wildcats active in the NBA, many of which are having outstanding seasons. Since it’s difficult to keep up with so many players in four different time zones, we here at KSR thought it’d be nice if all their statistics happened to be in one place. The below chart contains all per-game player data, alongside an efficiency metric similar to Player Efficiency Rating.
*Rajon Rondo was an All-Star selection, but was sidelined with a season ending ACL injury.
Post All-Star Notes:
-DeMarcus Cousins may not have been named an All-Star, but he’s clearly having the best season of any former Wildcat. In terms of per game averages, Cousins leads the Kings in points (17.4), rebounds (10.0), and steals (1.6). In addition to leading his team in these statistical categories, he finds himself ranked 24th overall in Player Efficiency Rating according to ESPN.com.
-Speaking of out-of-this-world Player Efficiency Ratings, Anthony Davis is ranked one spot ahead of DeMarcus Cousins with a rating of 20.55 (23rd overall). He has been able to accomplish such an astronomically high rating by averaging 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.9 blocks per game. Not to mention, Davis is connecting on 51.4% of field goal attempts. If it weren’t for that pesky Damian Lillard, Davis would be the heavy favorite for Rookie of the Year.
-While Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has entered a post-concussion offensive snag, he’s been doing all the other little things that made Kentucky fans adore him. Since his return; he’s averaging 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1 steal, and 0.8 blocks per game.
-Patrick Patterson has been one of the Association’s most improved players this season. Whereas last season he averaged only 7.7 points and shot 44% from the field, this season he’s averaging 11.6 per game and connects on 52% of attempts.
-Doron Lamb, Terrence Jones, and Darius Miller have all been recalled from the D-League in recent weeks. The trio, who helped take home Kentucky’s eighth national title, have struggled to find their footing in the Association during their rookie seasons. In their limited time as professionals, they’ve averaged 3.4, 3.1, and 1.9 points per game respectively.
-Finally, I leave you with Eric Bledsoe getting sh*t right yet again.

They go to the D-league to get playing time in and stay in game shape, thats why they are always recalled in a week or two. KSR always makes it sound so negative for them to be in the D-league.

Knight shook irving a few times but irving finished better. Wish the site would try to describe it. Instead if jud saying knight got dogged over and over. Ive heard 1 exact oppinion from3 different people.

8. Guess what, most college kids go to school for 4 years and still end up having a decent life. They will make PLENTY of money in the NBA regardless of when they start. In fact, they are far less likely to blow it all if they’re a little more mature when they get there.

10. – Also guess what…..it makes more sense to make money now rather than later. Time value of money. Kids who make money as a 19-20 year-old, 1 yr out of college, have a better chance of having more wealth than one who spends 4 years in college. We all hear about the ones who go broke, but what about the ones who become successful (Mashburn comes to mind)…
