New jerseys symbolic?

by @ 12:13 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

You’re looking at the back of Kentucky’s special edition Nike Hyper Elite jerseys they’re sporting against the Vols today. Each school had to feature their midcourt logo on the front, hence the interlocking “UK” Originally, Nike planned for UK’s uniforms to show “WILDCATS” on the back, but Mitch Barnhart and Senior Associate AD Jason Schlafer decided “KENTUCKY” would be more appropriate.

Most appropriate? That in the first game A.N. with the postseason on the line, every uniform will have “KENTUCKY” on the back instead of individual players’ names.

Go Cats.

Anyone else besides me that these uniforms look rather less than impressive? They look pretty bad to me.

  2. red headed step child Says:

First, I’d like to say I love the state of KY with the 120 on it. Every county in the state is UK.

  3. Scott Says:

I like the idea of Kentucky on the uniforms and not names. There was a time when players played for the name on the front and NOT the name on the back. WE ARE KENTUCKY!!!!! GO CATS!

  4. red headed step child Says:

    Second, uniforms look cheap

  5. Jarweed Says:

Whatever, win I’ll like the uniforms…

  6. Zac Says:

Anyone else find it funny considering how small Kentucky’s population is compared with most states that we have the most counties with 120? Just thought that was a funny fact.

  7. Roland Says:

    2, FIRST thing I noticed. I 2nd your thought.

  8. Roland Says:

4, wish you were right on that BUT you are not, literally and fiscally.

What? $120 for a jersey? and these in the link Doesn’t have the
    state w/ 120.

    No deal!

  9. Incorrect Says:

    @6

Texas has the most with 254, Georgia is second with Kentucky third, unless you count Virginia’s townships that act as counties in which case Kentucky is fourth

  10. red headed step child Says:

@8, allow me to rephrase…..uniforms look like a nerd made them. However, they do not look inexpensive.

  11. Roland Says:

10, I like the simple look.
Not to blatant but message delivered.
I would buy one of those if the price was reasonable.

  12. Roland Says:

Kinda how I like women. Not alot of makeup.
Early morning showers bring no surprises in the am. (jk)

  13. Roland Says:

HATE the checkerboard shorts! To TN esque.

  14. Curadhan Says:

Cardboard Heroes in Louisville is selling the #3 version of these jerseys for 50% off in honor of Noel…so just $60. A pretty class move you ask me.

  15. BOURBON TOWN CAT FAN Says:
