The 1996 UK team will be having a reunion at Rupp Arena on Feb 27, the night of the Mississippi State game. The team, which first got together this summer, will be introduced to the fans at the game and will get their chance to get a Rupp ovation together as a group for the first time in a long time. John Calipari helped put the event together and it will be great to see one of the all time best groups back again.
And one member of that team, Derek Anderson, made the trip to Lexington today to meet with Nerlens Noel and help talk with him about his injury. You may remember that Anderson had the same injury years ago and I am sure Nerlens was glad to speak with him. The picture below is a great one of UK eras past and present:

Is Pitino coming too?

Will Mr. Pitino be invited? Hmm

FEBUK for old school haters.

Let’s show Mr. Wiggins how the BBN welcomes back former players.

I agree with #5

Nerlens with a smile somehow made me realize that he is going to be OK as far as his future goes. If he can smile right now, why can’t we be more positive?

Two great young men. I remember so well when Derek got hurt. It speaks a lot about him that he would come back to help Nerlen through his rough time. May God bless them both.

Channel 11 just showed an angle of Nerlen’s injury I hadn’t seen before. It’s nothing short of a miracle that all he has is ACL damage. Great to see him smile after last night.

That’s the night of Wiggins’ OV to UK. Maybe they can help.

I seriously doubt Rick Pitino would be invited and even if he was why would he attend??? With all the hatred UK fans have for him it would be like walking into an ambush. He would be booed and probably pelted with garbage!

WIGGINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Why would I hate Pitino after all he did for UK? Sure I do not like Louisville at all, but Pitino coached our first NCAA title in 18 years back in 1996. I still like Pitino, Tubby and Cal, along with Hall and Rupp all who have won titles at UK. Anything less is ignorance in my opinion.
Are fans going to hate Cal after he leaves or something?

I don’t hate the 96 Pitino, I dislike the 2013 Pitino.

Very classy move by DA to take some time to visit with Nerlens today.

Pitino WILL make a brief appearance. For 15 seconds. But only if UL doesn’t lose. Don’t you just love the guy? Such a man of utmost character. I just love the way he tries to tell everybody else how they should live their lives, with all his motivational books and speeches. Ricky, we love thee.

18, LMAO!
I guess BBN can impress Mr. Wiggins with visions of what can happen if he comes to UK – a national championship team forever revered by the fans. Hopefully that will leave a better impression on him than a bunch of ho’s. It would be nice if our team can bring their A-game and defeat Miss St handily – might keep Cal from having to yell at them too much.

How’s a couple of months a long time? There were 10 members of the 1996 team at the Portland game in December & they were introduced at that game. Get your facts straight!

The greatest team of all time.

Ironic-Coach Cal assembling 1996 National champion UK Wildcats….the team that defeated his 1996 UMASS Minutemen in the final 4 in route to that Championship.
