February 13th, 2013 at 2:01 pm
Dude gets it!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:01 pm
Don’t call it a comeback…..cause it makes me cry it won’t be at UK.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:01 pm

He will be back next year and they will award us TWO national championships when we win it
February 13th, 2013 at 2:03 pm
Nerlens will be a lottery pick and a multi-millionaire—–well deseerved.
Blake Griffin missed his rookie year with similar and that’s worked out just fine for him.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:04 pm
I wish you nothing but the best Nerlens! You represented everything in the BBN. You’re in our prayers.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:05 pm
12. uh… what?
February 13th, 2013 at 2:06 pm
My prayers are with you God bless and a speedy recovery. You have done so much for the Lexington community and I know they care very much about you.Keep that attitude and you’ll be better than ever when you come back.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:07 pm
Nerlens made me proud to be a Cats fan in a sometimes disappointing season. Good luck, Big Fella…comeback in Lexington or in the NBA, either way you are part of BBN forever! One of my favorites to wear the jersey. My prayers are with you, and I know you will be back better than ever!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:09 pm
idk bout the lottery pick but, i certainly wish the kid best of luck, and if he chooses to go pro I hope that a team will take a chance cause they will be getting a gem. get well nerlens.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:10 pm
Im sure every single true member of BBN would trade places with you so you can pursue your dreams that you worked hard for.
BBN is behind you, big man. Stay strong and prove every hater wrong. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:10 pm
Nerlens, you are going to come back from this better than ever. God bless you.
“Never give in.. never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force.. never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
~ Winston Churchill
February 13th, 2013 at 2:10 pm

February 13th, 2013 at 2:11 pm
The best thing about an otherwise disappointing season…. We loved havin ya NN, u better come back n visit!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:11 pm
There is only 1 flat top feller and he is the man!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:11 pm
12-Guess they don’t work against butler either
February 13th, 2013 at 2:12 pm
Are their ACL transplants? Sign me up!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:12 pm
I have seen discussion on that play where poy missed a layup and archie rebounded and charged…uhh…we had a 3 on 1 with nerls standing alone right at the basket…the correct play for archie was a 5 foot pass…anyway Nerlens is a great person and I wish him the best…
February 13th, 2013 at 2:12 pm
get well big guy, all this means is he will have some time to bulk up and work on his offensive. for the NBA.. good luck #3
February 13th, 2013 at 2:13 pm
Ironic this happens to THE guy who hustles back and makes a great defensive play while others lag behind, what a shame!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:13 pm
Great kid, Im proud hes a Cat.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:13 pm
Nerlins you gave it your all, and we love you man. Bleed Blue for life. Comeback twice as great. Best of luck in your recovery, and know BBN is behind you every step.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:13 pm
12 I certainly hope that people were praying that he’d be okay…and it sounds like he will be okay, so until we hear that the surgery didn’t go well and he’ll never play basketball again, I’d say prayers were answered. He may not play for UK again, but hopefully people were putting him first in their prayers and praying for his over-all well being instead of our short-term desires.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:14 pm
The ONLY positive from this is our potential starting lineup next year…could we see one of
1-Harrison
2-Harrison
3-Wiggins
4-Randle
5-Noel
About 99% sure this won’t happen, but YIKES to just think about it! Good luck NN
February 13th, 2013 at 2:15 pm
# 11, you are correct.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:16 pm
Prayers going up for Nerlens…you gave everything for Kentucky and we all greatly appreciate it. BBN will be behind you no matter what. Thanks for all the effort you gave. Get well soon!!!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:17 pm
Nerlens, you’re the man, but please…GO PRO!!!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:19 pm
Good lord people STOP IT!! He’s still every bit a lotto pick and probably still top 5! I would not be surprised at all to see him still go #1. NO WAY HE IS BACK!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:19 pm
Get better bruh! CAT FOR LIFE!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:20 pm
33- if you’re the “#1 Noel fan” you could at least spell his name right
February 13th, 2013 at 2:20 pm
Every time you think Nerlens can’t get any more awesome, he goes and does something like this.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:20 pm
Great attitude NN. Get well and bring it back next year.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:21 pm
#12 is just a smartalec who said to pray to a milk jug
Dude, when you die, you better take that milk jug with you full of cold milk because you will need it to put out the fire
February 13th, 2013 at 2:21 pm
We will need Wiltjers scoring even if he is weak on defense…we still gotta score more than the other team. Start Kyle and let poy get minutes coming in for him and willie…I would let ryan and archie get a few minutes only until they show they have changed…Polson Hood and Mays should be in front of them now…
February 13th, 2013 at 2:22 pm
THANK YOU FOR WEARING WILDCAT BLUE, EVERY UK FAN WISHES YOU NOTHING BUT THE BEST, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF OUR FAVORITE PLAYERS, YOUR PARENTS SHOULD BE PROUD TO HAVE A SON LIKE YOU!!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:23 pm
If he puts into his rehab the same effort and determination he’s shown EVERY!!! GAME!! he’s played for UK, then I have no doubt he comes back better than ever. Hate it for him. Sometimes bad things happen to good people.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:23 pm
Wishing you a full and speedy recovery Nerlens!! I hope you make a decision about next year which works best for your long term success. You will always be a favorite of mine for the class you have shown off and on the court. Success to you always!!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:23 pm
And THAT attitude is what makes him special and is what will enable him to come back from what is very tough to come back from. Love and prayers for the big man!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:24 pm
GET WELL SOON NOEL, BBN LOVES YOU!!!!!! HEAD UP BIG GUY. YOUR STILL THE LEADER OF THIS TEAM REGARDLESS IF YOU ARE ON THE COURT.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:24 pm
Way to be strong Nerlins. You will come back stronger and better than ever with that attitude. Prayers!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:25 pm
BBN is blessed to have a guy like this.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:26 pm
Everybody relax, I got this….
February 13th, 2013 at 2:28 pm
49- exactly, that one tweet sums it up perfectly… That attitude is what makes him him and I love it! If I could give u my slightly less athletic ACL I would haha I won’t have much use for it for a while. On a different note these last few games could be tough to watch with no NN guess we’ll see if someone really wants to step up, although I don’t see it happening
February 13th, 2013 at 2:28 pm
Hoping he does the “Y” on Senior day when we play Florida again.
Nerlens you are fantastic. No matter what his future holds he will always be special.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:28 pm
Sorry 50 now
February 13th, 2013 at 2:29 pm
44. Don’t give him all that man, the fire is clearly burning him already in his life. Reach a hand out to him, don’t strike. Don’t turn up your nose, turn your cheek. I love your faith though.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:30 pm
Thanks for a great season Nerlens. Hope to see you back with the Big Blue next year. It is YOUR decision, not any poster on this or any other board.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:30 pm
And people its freakin Nerlens not Nerlins not Nerlense not Nerlinz Nerlens!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:31 pm
GET WELL SOON NERLENS NOEL STAY STRONG BIG BLUE NATION IS HERE FOR YOU FOREVER GOODLUCK!!!#3
February 13th, 2013 at 2:32 pm
I cant take it. As insignificant as it seems; I feel compelled to write a small note to Nerlens in this comment section that hopefully he will read.
I wish nothing but the best for you, man. You are bigger than basketball and I sincerely thank you for coming to Kentucky. I am not going to wish you luck, because you obviously MAKE your own future bigger and brighter just by your relentless drive and infectious positive attitude. 1 year or 4 years doesn’t matter, you just made yourself one of my favorite players to wear blue. GO CATS!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:32 pm
Stay strong Nerlens. You’re one of the best kids to ever suit up for us. Your attitude and character are going to help you get back and take you far. Stay positive and work hard and I’ll pull for you in the NBA along with the rest of the BBN. You are first class and deserve all the best.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:34 pm
Will cheer for him next year no matter if it’s the CATS or an NBA team. Always gives the max!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:34 pm
At-A-KID!! Can’t keep a good man down.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:36 pm
I’m hearing that the injury is worse than they’re leading on.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:37 pm
Man, I love that kid. Praying for a quick recovery. We all know he’s a determined and hard worker. Now we can all look forward to cheering him on as he joins a very fortunate NBA team!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:37 pm
WAAA! Our eraser is broke.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:37 pm
There’s a chance his knee might be blown.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:39 pm
Noel is a class act
February 13th, 2013 at 2:41 pm
Maybe he knows something we don’t know. Looks like he tweeted this at 6:57 p.m. today.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:43 pm
Keep that chin up and hit the books big fellow. BBN has your back!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:44 pm
Get well soon big fella!
February 13th, 2013 at 2:45 pm
How did he tweet this at 6:57?????
February 13th, 2013 at 2:48 pm
For this season: I really think this team will rally around their fallen brother and turn the season around. This could be the spark that ignites them. THAT would make a hell of a story.
For next season: Nerlens has plenty of time to recover. He will go pro and still be a high lottery pick. However, if he did stay and risk injury, while providing veteran leadership for the team and incoming class, he might become the most beloved wildcat in recent memory. And THAT would make a hell of a story.
Get well soon big fella. BBN is behind you no matter what you do.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:56 pm
This team does not have the athletic ability or mental toughness to rally around anyone. Shouldn’t let the injury cause us to lose sight of the poor play of Harrow, Poly and Goodwin. As far as next year Goodwin should be looking for a good one-on-one league which is all he has shown he can play.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:57 pm
73 – It says 10:57 on mine
February 13th, 2013 at 2:58 pm
Speedy recovery Nerlens. Wishing you all the best! Love your positive attitude.
February 13th, 2013 at 2:59 pm
BBN loves Nerlens. You gave EVERYTHING you had to Kentucky basketball, the entire BBN will rise and cheer you when you return to Rupp Arena to do the Y cheer during your successful NBA career.
February 13th, 2013 at 3:01 pm
76 – It says 10:57 on the screen capture above? Not your Twitter, because that will obviously adjust to your time settings. But whoever took this screen capture is probably in Europe.
February 13th, 2013 at 3:03 pm
I would love to believe this team can get it done, but without Nerlens, it is very doubtful. We just are not that good. There is nothing wrong with being freshman. We as UK fans act like it is crazy that Archie plays like that. I don’t think this team has the best basketball IQ either. It is what it is. Nerlens was great. Will miss his hustle for sure. I can see Cauley Stien stepping up offensivly. Maybe Goodwin calms down a bit. Mayes is Mayes, and Wiltjer is who he is. UK really, really needs more from harrow and I don’t see it happeing. He stepped up big against UL and Marshall. Plays soft a lot though.
February 13th, 2013 at 3:03 pm
Nevermind, it’s an embedded Tweet, not a screen capture. Weird that it changed the time.
February 13th, 2013 at 3:08 pm
Get well soon Nerlens…BBN loves you and expects to see you standing next to Cal in the Green Room come June…Good luck and once a Wildcat always a Wildcat.
February 13th, 2013 at 3:10 pm
This kid GETS IT. I will continue to prey for Nerlens. I think this may be a blessing to him in some way, maybe there is a higher reason for this injury. Maybe he will inspire someone along the way. GOD BLESS #3
February 13th, 2013 at 3:13 pm
Make money in the NBA and get your parents of their feet.
February 13th, 2013 at 3:13 pm
^^^PRAY
February 13th, 2013 at 3:15 pm
Good luck Nerlens!!!! BBN is pulling for you. I love the way you give 110 percent!!!
February 13th, 2013 at 3:16 pm
68- Dude, you must be one hell of a physician. I love your diagnosis of a “blown” knee. Is that term in your orthopaedic text book or did you get that off of Wikipedia?
February 13th, 2013 at 3:24 pm
Hmmmm……, let me see here…… do I believe the official diagnosis from the UK medical staff, or do I believe some person with an anonymous name on a sports blog? I am going with the torn ACL.
February 13th, 2013 at 3:40 pm
Isn’t a blown knee virtually the same thing as an ACL injury?
February 13th, 2013 at 4:17 pm
Classy young man with a heart of gold. We are extremely fortunate that he chose to come and be a part of BBN…
February 13th, 2013 at 5:02 pm
What a great kid.BBN is proud of you Nerlens and praying for you.And to the rest of the team, keep your heads up, It must be awful to ssee what your team mate is going thru and you have a sence that you have lost someone that is very dear to you, but i bet that nerlens will be there for you every step of the way.Play hard and have fun with the game. You must know BBN is behind you every step of the way and very proud to have all of you to grace the floor of Rupp. We wish all of you the best and GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 13th, 2013 at 5:23 pm
Hey Big Guy, you’re in my thoughts and prayers. You are a great person Nerlens, not just because of basketball but because of all the little important things you do for others. You will always matter to the BBN. ALWAYS and I’ll be praying for a good and perfect recovery.
February 13th, 2013 at 7:13 pm
I’ve had the same injury and knew that there was a miniscus tear with the way you HAD to yell, since if noone has ever experienced that they’ll not understand it’s one of THE worst pains ever!!! YES!!! Worse than getting kicked in the (you know what)!
BTW!!! Who was the A~~hOLE with the supposed insider info that said on a post last night it was the patella tendon? Jerk!!!
Unlike the patella you can actually make a full recovery, providing you opt for the cadaver ligament graft and NOT the hamstring graft. Just look at it as the Carson Palmer special.
Anyway, with proper, deliberate rehab he can make a full recovery and be ready to raise a banner next year. I can flat out jet at full speed now and couldn’t before my surgery and I didn’t attend all of my physical therapy appointments.
Some say bad things happen to achieve a greater good. Perhaps God has chosen YOU, Nerlens, to achieve greatness because you’re attitude, work ethic, genuine sincerity and kindness are authentic and special. We are so HONORED to have you play here and attend our beloved university. God bless you, buddy. You WIL make a full recovery!!! Mark it down!!!
February 13th, 2013 at 7:16 pm
Correction: that’s WILL make a full rovery!!! :/
February 13th, 2013 at 7:31 pm
93 – It was a torn ACL not meniscus.
February 13th, 2013 at 7:35 pm
i’ve been a cat fan since 1964 and i can’t recall anyone who played every possesion as urgentley as noel. i hope cal shows the film to his turtles and points out just how much faster noel got back on that play than the people who had his back.
February 13th, 2013 at 10:16 pm
God I love this guy. Good luck at the next level. Lifelong fan here.
February 14th, 2013 at 3:41 am
Noted, Linda Taylor, but an ACL tear doesn’t cause you pain. The knee shifting and tearing the meniscus is where all the pain comes from and is what makes you yell so loud. I had the same injury.
