Over on ESPN’s SEC Blog, Stoops’ hard work since arriving in Lexington isn’t going unnoticed. Edward Aschoff has a nice profile of Stoops’ first Signing Day at UK, and how the staff was able to pull in some late surprises. Aschoff said Stoops did a good job of getting talent on both sides of the ball, including playmaker Ryan Timmons and Jason Hatcher, whose mother Stoops had to convince to overlook her love for the other big team in the state, Louisville.
Stoops clearly won signing day, as a crowd that rivaled UK basketball’s Midnight Madness showed up to celebrate his class. But now it’s time to win the fall. Those names now have to generate wins, or Wednesday will have meant nothing. It’ll be a process, but Stoops took this job because of the potential he saw in BBN.
The content here really isn’t anything new, but it’s nice to see Stoops and his staff getting some national recognition for a job well done.

It’s nice to be excited about Kentucky football. Very anxious to see what it will look like 2-3 years from now.
