We’ve already done a Know Your Enemy on Auburn. We went through the location, the alumni, and the history (etc.). Since losing 75-53 to our Cats in Auburn Arena, things have not gotten much better for Auburn. Including the Kentucky game, they’ve lost 5 out of their last 6. That is easy to do when you shoot 28 for 113 (25%) from three point range in those games. Tonight, let’s take a look at what the Tigers have been up to since our last meeting.
*Vandy (away)- LOSS. Frankie Sullivan & Rob Chubb both had 14 points in this tickle fight that Vandy won 73-61. I didn’t see the game because I don’t enjoy torture. In fact, I don’t watch any Auburn basketball game Kentucky isn’t playing in. It’s my policy.
*Ole Miss (home)- LOSS. Ole Miss winning this game was big for Kentucky. It gave us the opportunity to play a ranked team and get a “quality” win. Had Ole Miss lost to Auburn, they would have been unranked for the Kentucky game. So thanks, Auburn, for shooting 6 for 23 from three in this game and losing 63-61. I didn’t watch, because it was an Auburn game Kentucky didn’t play in. #Policy
*Georgia (away)- LOSS. The only good thing about this game was that it was played in Athens, the greatest place on earth. The final score was 57-49 and Auburn sizzled from behind the three point line once again (4-20). This game may or may not have been watched by people. I, for one, did not watch. #Policy
*Missouri (away)- LOSS. In this game, Auburn improved a bit from the three point line (7-22) but still lost 91-77. Frankie Sullivan scored 12 points in this game despite playing only 16 minutes. Why did their best player only play 16 minutes? I don’t know. I didn’t watch the game. #Policy
*Alabama (home)- WIN. My friend Hunter Johnson, an Alabama fan, and I had this exchange about this 49-37 Auburn win that set college basketball back 50 years:
Hunter: WE SCORED 14 POINTS IN THE SECOND HALF AGAINST AUBURN
Me: Did you lose?
Hunter: GOD YES
Me: So, you guys scored 37 points total?
Hunter: Yes, Aaron. Yes. Cam Newton was there leading cheers. Worst night ever.
Me: Did you sleep last night?
Hunter: Only with the help of alcohol.
This game was so terrible Hunter had to drink himself to sleep. I had to take his word for all the facts he gave because I didn’t watch. Yep, you guessed it. #Policy.
Folks, Auburn sucks. They are terrible at shooting (a big part of basketball) and scoring (a bigger part of basketball). Kentucky is a 17 point favorite at home. This is a game where confidence needs to be built for the showdown on the road with Florida on Tuesday. Here’s to hoping that happens. I will be watching. That’s my #Policy.

We haven’t been great the year again SEC teams that suck so I hope they bring their “A” game tomorrow. The CATS need to bury a couple teams to get that a real confidence boost. Cats by 25… Love this time of year !

I didn’t realize Alabama fans cared about basketball enough to need to drink themselves to sleep. I guess that’s the national perception of Kentucky football. We really are two sides of the same coin.
