[Moderated by Matt Jones, Drew Franklin and Tyler Thompson]
During this morning’s SEC Teleconference, Frank Martin described the challenge of breaking down Kentucky’s defense, which ultimately comes down to stopping Nerlens Noel, whom he called “The Human Eraser”:
““It starts up top. Their ball pressure, it’s hard to break them down, so when you do break them down, it’s not a big crack. And then you’ve got the human eraser back there that protects the rim, so I think defensively they are good. ”
With that hair, how did we not make that comparison earlier?
UPDATE: Thanks to ukmoxie for the Photoshop:

Not sure what Frank is smoking…Our guards are horrible at pressuring the ball. I’m pretty sure I could breakdown Ryan, Archie, Julius or Jarrod off the dribble, and I’m god-awful at it.

I still like my “”The Hoop Nazi” better…but I suppose that wouldn’t be considered PC or whatever….even though any Seinfeld reference should get a free pass. But Human Eraser is pretty good…and that pic is funny.

9) The hoop Nazi is awesome. But that human eraser Photoshop is pretty hilarious.

Mrs. Tyler Thompson,
I cannot believe in all of KSR’s pop-culture wisdom, no one has connected Noel — his hair and his defensive prowess for “erasing” points — to David Lynch’s “Eraserhead.”

By the powers of Photoshop, make it so.
Warm regards,

12, it’s supposed to be the metal band that holds the eraser in place.

After every block respond: You’ve just been erased!

Someone has been suggesting “The Eraser” on this blog for quite awhile now. Mrs. Thompson, you can’t be giving Frank Martin the credit for it. It’s a BBN certified nickname.
