Prayers are with my favorite CAT.

  2. doctorirl Says:

C-spine and immobilization are pretty commonly done things when there’s any question at all of spine trauma. If he had any neck pain after that injury they would have put a C-collar on him and taken him out that way. Good to see he was moving everything on the way to the hospital. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.

  3. CATSforever Says:

Prayers going out to the hardest playing Wildcat ever.
MKG you’ve got the big man and the BBN at your side!

  4. MCaron Says:

Wow. MKG Nooooo! I hope he’s back doing work soon.

  5. hossamassey Says:

One of the guys updating the situation on twitter said that medical personnel was talking if he’d even stay the night in Houston. Have to think that sounds encouraging.

  6. CRhodes Says:

    Wishing the best to MKG!

  7. JEREMY Says:

  9. Bird in Kentucky Says:

A true WILDCAT! Prayers going out to him. Always busted his butt every game.

  10. Here we go now Says:

MKG- thoughts and prayers are with you!

  11. Go cats Says:

My 2nd favorite ever behind Jorts. Love a player who just outworks every body else. Get well soon. Praying for you and your family.

  12. Cats fan Says:

I know that he wanted to watch the cats overtime win live but gotta find a better way next time. Love me some MKG. Hardest playing cat I’ve ever seen. Get well soon.

  13. gog8ors Says:

I remember Tebow getting sacked and hitting his head on the knee of his teammate as he was falling and some UK fans thought this was the best thing since sliced bread. It was a great sack by the UK player but I don’t understand anyone hoping that a player gets hurt. Getting a concussion is never a good thing and can have devastating long term effects on the brain. Hope MKG recovers quickly and doesn’t have any lasting effects from this injury.

  14. Ridge Runner Says:

    We’re with you, Michael.

  15. ltylerj Says:

Knowing MKG, he’ll be back on the court tomorrow(Or whenever their next game is). The coaching staff and trainers will have their hands full if they ask him to sit out some games.

    Get well soon, MKG.

  16. BBNcatfan Says:

Prayers for my favorite Cat! Hoping he is okay. Have yet to watch the footage. Don’t think I can…….

  17. Ridge Runner Says:

    15, isn’t that the truth.

  18. Go cats Says:

Archie didn’t make espn top ten. Lacrosse did hockey did but no UK. Conspiracy

  19. JBR Says:

13, here is what I will tell you about that hit and what I experienced in Commonwealth that day…many of our fans were ecstatic over the hit and the sack. They were that way because we have always sucked so bad at football, and plays like that are not common AND UK is a basketball school, and the football IQ of our common fan is not great…but they cheered on because they did not realize the potential extent of his injury. I did see, on the other hand, several gator fans getting bent out of shape because you worship Tebow like he is jesus. We have the same number of jackass fans everyone else has, including yours. I’m sure there were a few idiots, but I also saw your own upset because of who it was.

  20. Mike Says:

#13 May you be inflicted with ass cancer.

  21. MKG's bravado Says:

People: it’s MKG. How many times last year did he appear to have been shot with an assault weapon? I saw the replay, most of us would have rubbed the back of our head where the knee grazed it, and continue playing.

  22. hossamassey Says:

#13, remember the score of the game when that happened? 31-7 late in the 3rd. Kentucky had no signs of moving the football since the 1st quarter and Tebow should have never been in the game after the first drive after halftime. Most were cheering the fact Urban got bit for trying to run up the score, and the fact that football Jesus was exposed as a mortal.

  24. LeX Says:

…..That didnt look that bad at all…..Mild concussion at worst. He just acts like hes been shot every time he gets any kind of boo boo. I love you MKG but leave the acting to the soccer players.

  25. ... Says:

Look I hope mkg is good

But that was the most anti climatic thing I ever saw

The warning made me think his head came off

    Knee to head ok so.

Again hope he is good but your build up was a bit much

And I’m not being negative to his injury just your build up is all

  26. Yawn Says:

    He’s fine

Save the warning for joe thiesman video ok

  27. Linda Taylor Says:

21 – He was knocked out cold. The area where he was hit appears to be around C2, which if handled improperly could have put MKG in very serious jeopardy. My mother had non-displaced fractures of vertebraes C2 and C3 when she suffered a fall in her home. The doctors said it was a miracle she survived and it was only because the fractures were non-displaced that her breathing was not cut off and she made it through. That area at the base of the brain controls many autonomic functions of the body including breathing.

  28. hossamassey Says:

MKG diagnosed with concussion. CT scan and X-rays were negative on neck injuries. Staying in Houston hospital overnight, and will have to pass NBA concussion protocol test to play when ready.

  29. Linda Taylor Says:

28 – Thank you for the updates. Hopefully he will make a quick recovery and have no lasting effects from the concussion.

  30. hossamassey Says:

29-You are welcome. I promised Mrs. TT that I would keep updates on twitter as soon as I saw them. Figured I’d post them in this thread as well.

And agreed, hope he makes a full, speedy recovery. The way he just collapsed and was out, I was scared it was worse than it was.

  31. darell Says:

MKG, you are loved by the whole family

  32. kuhlkat Says:

24-you’re an assclown. I remember him acting that way too. But did u not read the report? HE WAS KNOCKED OUT COLD–HE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A CONCUSSION. Geez some people are dense.

  33. Cindy Says:

    Prayers…..

  34. SarCastic Says:

    Relax, 24 and 25 have it right…
MKG is a bit of a drama queen…

  35. Linda Taylor Says:

34 – No 24 and 25 most assuredly do not have it right. If you had the reading comprehension of a 10 year old you would know that. MKG was knocked out cold and has sustained a concussion which means his brain is not functioning correctly right now. His brain will have to heal before he will be allowed back on the court again. How serious the concussion is has not been released. He will have to follow the NBA protocol on concussions before he will be allowed to return to play.

  36. g.rod333 Says:

M K G has a will to win as “big as Texas”….how many times were we treated to it last year? Favorite Cat ever (@ age 49), iv’e seen a few players roll through here!!!!! Hope he is well…

  37. BurnerTurner5 Says:

When you play as hard and all out like MKG does I guess there’s always a chance of things like that happening. Of course being a beast and tough as nails helps. You guys calling him a drama queen shut the hell up. I sure would like to have him on this years team. Prayers to you MKG and feel well soon.

  38. gog8ors Says:

19-Tebow is adored by Florida fans and no doubt they were more concerned about his injury than maybe they would be over any other players’ injury. Wouldn’t UK fans have been more concerned over an injury to Anthony Davis last season more than say a bench warmer? One of the reasons that I am a fan of Tebow is because of his worship of Jesus and his devotion to the faith. I admire any kid no matter what team they play on for that.
20-You were probably one of the idiots that I was referring to that cheer when a player gets hurt. I consider people like you as scum of the earth.

  39. Catlanta31 Says:

Wow, what a weak hit. MKG flops a lot. Yeah you can cuss me if you want but that was weak. You don’t like it but I’m a pretty big smartazz anyway.

  40. Stumps Says:

38 – Tebow’s finished so you can quit kissing his muscular arse. It should be quite obvious by now that jesus didn’t want him to be successful at pro football.

  41. gog8ors Says:

40- You are so stupid that you don’t even have the intelligence to capitalize the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus.
