Down to UK and Florida for Ryan Timmons

by @ 10:12 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Franklin County superstar Ryan Timmons will be making a decision on Tuesday, February 5th and it looks as if Kentucky is one of the final two horses in the race. The Cats Pause is reporting tonight that Ohio State is no longer recruiting Timmons after receiving a commitment earlier this week. Timmons is contemplating a visit to Florida this weekend and then making a decision between his home state Wildcats and the Gators.

Joker versus Stoops…the battle is on.

Matt, maybe it’s some kind of recruiting violation to mention what Jason Hatcher just tweeted, I’m not sure. You’ve got to find some way to use the site to unite the BBN on Twitter for moments like that. If we can put in 60,000 votes on a random online poll after seeing it on here, imagine what we could do if Twitter was integrated onto the site.

  2. Revisit Says:

    Didn’t he just visit FL?

  3. JBooth Says:

Joker was in it for da money!! Still trying to take and give nothing but heartache. Please stay home Mr. Timmons. Nice that your talent is getting recognized but please keep it in Kentucky.

  4. INCatFan Says:

Hopefully, Stoops troopps can sell him on being a STAR!!! at UK, instead of just another recruit for Florida. I believe he obviously has the talent to play at Florida but let’s be honest, competition at Florida just to see the field will be huge!!! They’ve just been recruiting on a different level than we have forever, but hopefully landing some STARS like Timmons could change that! Let’s hope he stays home to help Stoops and company get this done!! GO CATS!!

  5. Wildcat3331 Says:

Strongly agree with #1. I realize you can’t/ don’t want to meddle in these affairs but I do believe he was asking for a direct sentiment from you or something about him on the site akin to the Nate Willis breakdown which he has as his twitter background pic.

  6. Tampa Satchel Says:

Care to elaborate for those who don’t tweet?

  7. Dear UL and IU fans, We are national champions; you are not. The end. Says:

    Come to UK!

  8. Ridge Runner Says:

Stay in Ky & let that resonate for just a bit, Ryan!

  9. Danny Mac Says:

For those of you who want to know what the tweet 1 and 5 are talking about, 1 hour ago Hatcher tweeted
    Jason A. Hatcher II (‏@ROCK_NATION_6) : @KySportsRadio can I get some love

    Matt responded with

Matt Jones ‏(@KySportsRadio) : This is Jason Hatcher. I guess you should do your thing BBN RT (@ROCK_NATION_6: @KySportsRadio can I get some love). All of you with twitter please retweet Hatchers post and follow him if you can.

  10. Danny Mac Says:

@9 The last sentance is not part of the tweet. *All of you with…

  11. Tweeter Says:

Hatcher tweeted “KySportsRadio can I get some love” about an hour ago. Not sure what to make of that. Kemp and Bedat reveal their choices tomorrow. I like our chances. Hopefully Timmons and Hatcher will come on board too.

  12. Rae Says:

You know what’s crazy? We are in a recruiting battle with FLORIDA! Remember when we were fighting Middle Tennessee State and Southern Miss?

  13. EasyDecision Says:

Ryan oh Ryan…Not sure what line of bull Joker and Muschoke are feeding you but after a little quick research here is the reality….Florida has verbals from 5 receivers including the #5(already signed LOI), #9 and #16 ranked receivers all 4*’s and all ranked ahead of you. They have a signed LOI from the # 6 running back and a verbal from another 4* RB. The BBN wants you Ryan, Stoops and Brown want you, and we hope you will make the easy and right decision on Feb 6.

I was a Joker supporter all along but he needs to shoot straight with Mr. Timmons and tell him the best decision is to sign with the CATS! Truly believe after reviewing the Gator Roster and recruiting class that the Gators have no need for Timmons and Joker is trying to needle UK with his recruitment of Timmons. Just makes no sense.

  14. Ridge Runner Says:

    12) That is really what speaks volumes here and you are dead on.

  15. Whitesburg Says:

#13, give it up! I too liked Joker and I still do.Joker dedicated over 25 years of his life to UK and I am sick of some UK fans who ontinue to dish him. Grow up guys!
I like Stoops more now because he is our coach though. Joker has a job to do, just like Stoops has a job to do. Joker has every right to recruit Timmons just like Stoops does. I just hope Stoops wins out at this point.
Our basketball coach did the same thing 4 years ago and not a damn UK fan said a a thing when Cal brought 3 kids from Memphis with him.
Lets shut up about Joker and hope that Timmons comes to play at UK!

  16. g.benim Says:

Who cares about Joker, he is gone. Stop talking shit about him.

  17. Bluehaze Says:

Don’t get caught up on Joker comment in #13. Take a look at the Florida Roster and their current list of WR and RB commitments. Makes a good point, just don’t see Timmons going to FL with that many WR commits.

  18. SeoulCat Says:

Not to mention the question of, if you’re Timmons, would you rather catch balls in a Neal Brown-led offense or one headed by the awful Brent Pease? One guy (Brown) will help you put up gaudy stats, while the other will kill them.

  19. UK Football Fan Says:

Well said #13. Stay at home and play for the Cats Mr. Timmons and Mr. Hatcher. You are needed at home.

  20. Doo Doo Brown Says:

It’s so annoying seeing hillbilly after hillbilly hate on Joker for recruiting Timmons. Schools like Florida don’t use scholarships to needle Kentucky. Please stick to basketball and NASCAR!

  21. BamaGradinKY Says:

Should be a real tough decision for Ryan. Does he want to go to a school that will have a losing SEC record for 4 years or does he want to be a winner. I can see the conflict.

  22. Beavis Says:

Number 20,,,,if you are so annoyed by all the “hillbillies ” on this site,,,,get off the site.

  23. The real choice Says:

Hey Ryan…if you are as good as you and we think you are, you will be a star either at Florida or Kentucky. Both schools have put plenty of good receivers into the NFL. Both schools play in the SEC. Florida is a power. We believe UK is up an coming. So, you will be fine either place. THE BOTTOM LINE IS FOR YOU TO PICK THE SCHOOL THAT IS BEST FOR YOU. If you would like to stay in Kentucky, then please come to UK. If you would prefer to go to school in Florida, then that is what you should do. Funny, but your choice of an education really comes down to the school, rather than the football program. Good luck, young man!

  24. BA Says:

#20 if you dont understand that programs battle for players in football just as they do for basketball then you must be a Card fan.

  25. DerbyDemon Says:

#15–Sorry, but that dog ain’t gonna’ hunt. It’s hard to have ANYTHING positive to say about someone who ran this football program straight into the ground. Joker was (and is) clueless when it comes to being a head coach. You can put any spin you want on this, but facts are facts.

  26. Urban Says:

This rumor is completely untrue, talked to people close to Timmons this morning and they said Coach Tracy called Coach Meyers this morning and the offer still stands to Timmons. Still hope he choses UK, this is a special player.

  27. MustangCat Says:

Timmons, the days of mediocre UK football are a thing of the past. You should be able to see that. And the days of Florida being a national power are numbered. It’s called coaching. Some coaches underachieve, some max out. Will M. is not cut out for a job like Florida. And he’s proving it. He reminds me of Zook. He’ll be gone in a couple of years. Because they can’t tolerate underachievers there. Stoops is cut out for a job like Florida, and he’s already proving it. And he will turn Kentucky into a Florida. And he won’t leave for a better job, because he’ll make this the better job. By the time the big boys start looking at him, he’ll have UK right up there with them. And they won’t have any more to offer him then he has right here. Timmons, you’ll be getting in at the ground floor level. And instead of being one of those people who says “they were there” when something famous happened, you’ll have proof! Come on down! You know what you need to do.

  28. Beavis Says:

Number 27,,,,love your optimism. One thing is for certain,,,Timmons can become a ” folk ” hero at Kentucky. Why would the young man want to go to Florida and be coached by a coach that has already proven that he can’t coach ?

  29. BigBlue Says:

Hopefully UK just shows him video of who his coach would be at UF…The Joke…if that does not work I don’t know what will!!

  30. Wildcatwill Says:

If he looks at UF offense vs. what Neal Brown will do here it’s a no brainer

  31. buckeyestu Says:

what number 26 said is true. the offer from the ohio state university is still valid.
