When Marshall Henderson signed with Ole Miss back in April, he already had the Kentucky Wildcats on his mind. Henderson, fresh off his JUCO national championship with South Plains College in Texas, said he will show Kentucky who the real national champ is.
“I’m just glad I can play Kentucky next year and be like ‘Y’all think y’all were the national champions, I’ll show you the real national champ.”
He should be thanking God that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist won’t be walking through that door tonight.

I thinks tonight can go one of two ways. One we go in and shut down henderson and give him a taste of his own medicine or two we go in and he backs up everything he says and kills us. I think we have a real shot at winning tonight if we feed the ball down low to Noel and hit an open wiltjer on the wings. We have a nice 1-2 punch with these two guys and i think its time we start utilizing their full potential.

Either all this talk lights a fire under our guys, we go in more determined and prepared than we have all season, shut him down and play a great game…Or he comes out, backs up everything, continues to talk trash, and puts up 30 on us. I just hope it’s the former.

The guys need to go in there tonight with a chip on their shoulders and play hard, tough, and smart for 40 minutes and shut Henderson’s mouth up! I would love for our CATS to cram every ball Henderson throws up down his throat! We are and always will be the “Real” National Champs!! GO CATS!!!

I hope someone punches him in his eye, congrats on being a JUCO reject that got a great chance just to be able to grace the same floor as the Wildcats. #5 I could not agree with you more. Henderson is a sickness and we need to go and destroy him tonight. Archie Goodwin has to be the one to step up on defense tonight. Aside from Polson and maybe Harrow he is the only one thats really gonna be able to contain him tonight. As long as we limit turnovers, step up on D, and give Noel and Wiltjer the ball then we will be coming home with a big W tonight.

Losing tonight won’t upset me. Giving that guy any room to breath on offense is what will upset me. He should not have a single wide open shot tonight. When they have a main force on offense, you have to focus there first, and make everyone else beat you. He makes what he makes at that point. And he could very well have an Elston Turner style game where it doesn’t matter if he’s guarded or not. But those are very rare.

Really worried about tonight. It’s not that I don’t have faith in Cal or the Cats but this Henderson guy has been waiting his whole life for a game like this, if you think he was crazy in other games wait until tonight. He has the opportunity to truly embarrass UK tonight on ESPN if they don’t come out ready for this kid. I’m going to bet 3 tech’s tonight. Going to be a heated contest.

Just being a realist here but our weakest link is perimeter defense. Two weeks ago a shooting guard put up 40 against us. Wish Cal would try Jon Hood on him to give him some length to shoot over or make him drive into taller players. Plus with Hood you can spare the 5 fouls to be physical against him. If hes gonna get 18, he dang sure is going to earn it.

Ole miss lost to Middle Tennessee and Indiana State earlier this season. I know they’ve only lost two games but their two losses are worse than any of our individual losses. They’ve only beaten one ranked team in Missouri who is a really inconsistent team. We’ve hung in there with highly ranked teams like Duke and Louisville and we tend to play to the competition of our opponents. I think we have a strong chance tonight as long as Archie goes in looking for Henderson’s throat.

Settle down all you Francises! Why all the hate for the guy? I respect a guy who can talk a little good natured smack AND backs it up while playing on a team where he is clearly the guy.
If you watch him, he’s not mean or dirty, he’s passionate and having as much fun as the fans are. We know who there best is and he doesn’t try to slip under the radar, so if we can’t beat them by stopping him, then shame on us.
Any hate directed towards him is more than likely a deflection of anger towards our own team that has not lived up to our expectations.

It would be nice if various players and fans out there would realize we did in fact win the title last year, because we had the best team, but most of that team is gone, so beating us this year does not make you better than last year’s UK team. It’s not that complicated.
