Florida linebacker Keith Kelsey has picked Louisville as his college of choice, according to Mike Hughes. Kelsey, a three-star inside linebacker, chose the Cards over Kentucky and South Florida. He visited UK’s campus this weekend and by all accounts it went well, but his family’s close ties to Charlie Strong (his dad played for Strong at Florida) were too much to overcome.
All is not lost; after a great visit to Lexington that had many media members jumping the gun to report a commitment, four-star Florida linebacker James Hearns will announce his decision soon.
9 days ’til signing day.

January 28th, 2013 at 9:21 am

January 28th, 2013 at 9:22 am
Why would anybody that KNOWS Charlie Strong want their kid to play for him? *scratches head*
January 28th, 2013 at 9:23 am
His DAD played for Strong? How old was his dad when he had him, 12?
January 28th, 2013 at 9:25 am
Kid put on a UK hat then said “PSYCHE” I’m a Louisville Cardinal baby!
I now don’t like him.

Time to realize the visits were fun but Kentucky football is not getting any of these great recruits. Maybe next year…
January 28th, 2013 at 9:27 am
@ #8
Nothing about this suggests that “we wont be getting any of those great recruits”. All it suggests is that Kelsey wanted to play under Strong like his dad. There are still many good recruits who seem to be leaning our way.

Where da gold at?
January 28th, 2013 at 9:28 am
A) don’t be surprised if Hatcher comes.
B) we have had more 4* visits in a month, than Joker had his entire career.

Did want to play with the big boys in the SEC. Have fun playing those JV teams.
January 28th, 2013 at 9:39 am
rather play JV teams(Big East) than play on a JV team(UK). UK would have a losing conference record in ACC so no worries
January 28th, 2013 at 9:42 am
#11, true that
January 28th, 2013 at 9:45 am
I was never worried….Had a talk with his daddy ands we came to an understanding if you know what I mean. L1C4 Bitches!!!

Best of luck to him at UL. Hope that turns out to be the right decision for him.
January 28th, 2013 at 9:52 am
Kid followed his heart. I got no mess with that.
January 28th, 2013 at 9:54 am
Got paid by Hurtt?
January 28th, 2013 at 9:57 am
Probably should call the guys they ran off and tell them we didn’t mean it.
January 28th, 2013 at 9:57 am
Hopefully this is a sign that we are going to get Hearns. Both are inside LBs. Maybe he didn’t want to be second in line for his position/class.
January 28th, 2013 at 9:58 am
You’re not kidding 11, this has been said many times but, we’re now gettng them on campus to where we never was invited in thier homes. Good luck to the young man. Go CATS!
January 28th, 2013 at 9:58 am
(I’m gonna take the Louisville angle, for fun)
Everybody knows Clint Hurtt pays these recruits. It’s only a matter of time until the NCAA drops the hammer on that program and the BCS Bowl win is vacated.

Louisville is a better football program. It is just that simple
January 28th, 2013 at 10:08 am
6) I just ran some numbers. It looks like he would have been around 15.
January 28th, 2013 at 11:15 am
Welcome to UK football Stoops. This will not be the last time you hear players choosing other programs.
3 and out!!!

With fans like some of you in Kentucky, who needs haters. As a mom & yes Keiths mom, I am astonished at the comments made towards my son & towards other recruits that didn’t choose UK. Wow! Is all I can say & I hope those of you that one day have son’s or daughters that might goe through this process don’t come across the same thing.

The little “psyched” act shows how classless he is. He belongs at Louisville. He fits right in.
January 28th, 2013 at 1:07 pm
26 I agree. I wish your son well and enjoy his success. No choice is the wrong choice in this process. All of us UK fans dont carry on like this. What these guys dont understand is that mothers and fathers of recruits talk as well as recruits.Doesnt bode well for Uk with any other recruits that know your family.I am not so sure our fanbase is not as much responsible for the demise of our program as the past administration. Please accept one fans apology. Good luck to your family.

26. I am with you.WOW!!! Been dealing with it myself.
