In his post game press conference, John Calipari spoke about the late game tactics to foul with a few seconds left, up 3 points. He said he doesn’t always do that, but with the way LSU was playing, “he would have made that 3.”
Even though Kentucky came out on top, they failed to put the game away late, allowing LSU to hang around. “We’re giving people a chance to beat us. Nice to walk out of here with a win. Would’ve been an ugly L. Some of these games we’ve got coming up, I hope they’re close too.”
Calipari was pleased with the way Poythress and Noel finished the game, but still has concerns about his team’s mentality late in the second half. “They’re playing like they’re afraid to lose. I’m not afraid to lose. Just play. If we lose, it’s on me. If we win, it’s about you.”

Guess what Coach? You are correct ……. playing “not to lose !”
Good to see you stand up and TAKE THE BLAME ….. now take the blame for their lousy free throw shooting by telling GOODWIN, POYTHRESS, NOEL, & Frank-n-Stein to bend their knees in their free throw routines and theey MIGHT come UP to 70% someday !

Cal has not taken any blame for the weak second half play. There doesn’t seem to be any plays call the second half just lets kill he clock and take a crazy shot. Poythress Weitjer and Noel should be getting the 35 plus minutes not Mays and Goodwin.
