Jason Hatcher moving closer to Kentucky

by @ 12:03 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Our fearless leader is hearing from couple of sources that after canceling his visit to Louisville, four-star Trinity defensive end Jason Hatcher will visit Kentucky this weekend.

Southern California recently flew cross country for an in-home visit, in an attempt to recommit to Hatcher after he announced he was no longer interested in the Trojans.

Hatcher will visit Kentucky today, along with three-star wide receiver Ryan Timmons from Franklin County. Also in Rupp Arena will be four-star safety Marcus McWilson (Nebraska commit) and four-star linebacker James Hearns (decommit Florida).

Make ‘em hear you, Big Blue Nation.

A huge get if this is true, shows a true turnaround in the atmosphere at UK

  2. Coach Man Says:

Rumor has it that Jason couldn’t understand Ed Orgeron’s constant babbling, mumbling, and screaming… It’s possible he got spit on too!!! Any chance that if we get Hatcher and Timmons, that we could get James Quick to soften on his Dirty Bird commitment??? Coach Stoops doin’ work!!!

  3. metro conference Says:

UL will always be a bottom tier mid-major program that clings to winning meaningless conferences. At UK, Hatcher can compete with the best week in and week out and be a true star from Day One. He can also get away from home for college which is what he always wanted.

  4. Go Getter Says:

Would be a solid pick-up no doubt. I have multiple connections with Trinity and their football program and with Hatcher, given how much talent he posses’, will be a work in progress. He has all the assets but needs some work in the “I need to earn it, not everything is given to me” department. Dad wants him to skip college and play in CFL, mom wants him in college, he didn’t even attend the THS football banquet with his teammates. As much hype he has generated, and for good reason, I just hope he invests in himself and everything clicks. He could be a beast.

Trinity coach Bob Beatty said Tuesday night that he wasn’t aware that Hatcher had withdrawn his pledge to USC but added, “It doesn’t shock me.”

  5. catfanatic Says:

unbelieveable. if can do this good his first year the future for kentucky football looks great

  6. Eric K Says:

Getting both plus Hearns would be BIG! Keep them coming STOOPS! IN STOOPS WE TRUST!! GO CATS!!

  7. GrammarPolice Says:

Hey Stu…Reciever really? It’s receiver actually. Remember the “I” before “E” except after “C”

  8. ukgrad Says:

Regardless if he commits, to turn him around to have legitimate interest is a huge indication of the ability of this staff. Does anyone remember what Hatcher said about UK during the football season? Something along the lines of “Everyone beats UK”. Clearly the culture is changing and the recruits see it.

  9. Matt Says:

    Stoooooooooooops!!!!

  10. Reality Says:

    4) doesn’t surprise me about Beatty. He could care less about helping his kids in the recruiting process. As long as he is winning and getting attention. That’s how it has always been. If it wasn’t for Andrew Coverdale the OC ole Bob might not be as successful.

  11. FrigFullofBeer Says:

Since SoCal is all jacked up now.. What about Lamar Dawson? Is he staying with USC

  12. Roland Says:

10, yada, yada,… You say things about the coach @ TRINITY, BUT DON’T OVER ANY SOURCE.

  13. Roland Says:

@12, atthe “WTF” crowd,”offer” not over

  14. BigBlueCatFan Says:

ESPN has Timmons listed as four star. Let’s give the KY kid some credit and list him as a four star.

  15. Roland Says:

    WR U in the future?

  16. Jason Says:

Hatcher + Hearns + Timmons could be absolutely massive for this team. I was one of the most skeptical around when we hired Stoops, but that guy has absolutely made me a believer, and one of his biggest supporters. What a gem he’s been at recruiting thus far. He’s proven he can coach at FSU. If you can combine these two, we might have found a football coach who turns us around.

  17. Coach Man Says:

People who comment just to complain about errors in the articles drive me nuts!!! Use the comment section to praise or complain about the subject of the article! This is big time stuff for UK football! Who cares about grammatical errors or whether or not a kid is 3 or 4 stars. They’re both studs and will do great things for the blue and white!

  18. Roland Says:

duke trying to get un embarrassed on live tv.. cbs here v maryland

  19. Twit Says:

    @15,13 & 12. Drink much?

  20. Roland Says:

19, not enough to put up with your comments.

  21. 2020 Says:

I remember in ’07 and ’08, people kept saying how the top high school basketball players didn’t see UK as an elite program, that we’d never see success like we had it before. Obviously, they were dead wrong. The right coach at the right time can turn things around on a dime. Congrats to Stoops – looks like he’s on his way.

  22. Wrong Says:

4… You don’t know him and you don’t know what you’re talking about

  23. Twit Says:

@20. Sorry, you didn’t deserve that. Regretted it as soon as I sent it.

  24. Al's IndiCats Says:

Back in the late 80s and on I rooted against Georgetown in every way, shape, and form, but now I root for anybody who plays Uvel, HELL even if the freaking Taliban had a team and played Uvel I’d root for the Taliban!
17 I agree, will the grammer police PLEASE knock it off, remember….. we’re all on the same side! Go Cal and STOOPS!

  25. Roland Says:

You don’t get that much. Thank You, 23. On the other side, I can BE ANNOYING. thank you.

  26. MustangCat Says:

I think we should coin the phrase “stooped”, and any positive usage of it! Been holding my breath since they hired him and I believe the result is I’m a perfect shade of UK BLUE!!!

  27. Shawn Says:

Its like UK Football Is losing Its virginity.

  28. Rushed Says:

If you haven’t already, get on Twitter and follow Alex Montgomery. Kid is visiting Loserville today and getting ZERO love from the Tard fans. He’s asking where the BBN is! Go and show him. Follow @IjustWannadoME.

  29. FeedMeSeymour Says:

#27, Are you saying that UK is getting f##ked? I hope not. Seriously, Coach Stoops is doing great right now. I hope Hatcher and Timmons sign with us on NSD.

  30. St. Paul Raiders Says:

I know the weather’s been cold and icy lately, but is hell freezing over too? UK in on top level recruits AND people acting like actual adults in the comments section. I love it.

  31. STUDENTS!! Says:

**ALL STUDENTS AND FANS ATTENDING TODAY’S GAME**

Please give these recruits the attention they deserve!! This is a big game for football recruiting and we need every last one of you to make signs, chant their names, etc. GO BIG BLUE!!!

  32. jake Says:

BBN going to the lsu game be ready to show all the football recruits some love!

  33. Trinity Grad '08 Says:

#10) you sir, are very misinformed. When I was playing ball at THS, before Coverdale came (my junior year), Trinity still did well enough to win state. But, if it wasn’t for the high caliber West Coast OC’s that Beatty has had then they might not be as good as they have been. Being a player at Trinity, Bob Beatty is a complete asshole, but he is a great football coach. Enough bashing of my alma matter, how ’bout these damn Cats?! And I mean the future football Cats and the current Football staff. Can’t wait for the spring game!

  34. BGF Says:

This would be big for UK to keep a good player in-state, but having seen him player it will be a few years down the road for him to be a player for UK.

  35. Trojan P Says:

I would have been worried if he visited UL, but not UK. So I feel Jason is still all USC. P.S. Lamar Dawson says hello LOL
