Mark Stoops didn’t take long to win his first recruiting battle over Louisville. Four star cornerback Jaleel Hytchye from Cincinnati, Ohio committed to Kentucky a few weeks ago, picking the Wildcats over a few schools, including Louisville. An ESPN Insider feature called “Favorite Memories From the Recruiting Trail” included a question to Hytchye about what part of his recruitment was the “most annoying.” If you didn’t already like the young man from Ohio, you certainly will now.
“Most annoying part is the end where I told Louisville I wasn’t coming, and they kept trying to come down, and I told them I’m solid and they kept going and tried to come to the school to recruit me. I had a low-key argument with one of the coaches. We were going back and forth. He said, ‘We’re winning championships at Louisville,’ and I said, ‘We’re winning championships at Kentucky.’ He said, ‘We’re going to a bowl game,’ and I said, ‘We’re going to a bowl game.’ He said, ‘Who are you going to beat? Alabama? Florida?’ and I said, ‘We’ll eventually get there.’”
I think it’s easy to understand why Mark Stoops wanted a guy with this kind of attitude in his first recruiting class at the University of Kentucky.

I’m sorry, but winning the Metro, Conference USA, or whatever mid-major UL is in now is NOT winning championships. UL’s football program has about as much respect nationally as any mid-major……none.

The funny thing is UL couldn’t last a day in the SEC. They would be the WORST team in the entire conference if they were admitted. It won’t be long before UK starts beating UL again in football like we always have.

It’s weird that UL sells their school by telling kids that they can’t win in a real conference so they should come to a school where the hardest game on the schedule is a 2-10 Kentucky team. And I think after watching Notre Dame get pounded as bad as they did that UL could go undefeated the next 3 seasons in their schedule and still would not be in a title game. I like this kid!

It’s only a matter of time after the NCAA cleans up its own house that it comes to UL and starts investigating Hurt and UL. Ever go fishing and have a big fish get away. Makes you fish that much harder. Once a cheat always a cheat. Hard to believe Hurt could have enough money to play with at UL because they don’t sellout their own stadium. Besides Rick is proof between the two schools. How long was he here before winning the National Title? How long was he at UL before he and Karen came together? One school wins titles and the other you can get l__d at.

Winning Championships: To any idiot UL fan that might read this: UL fans keep believing the propaganda coming out of UL (Jurich counts on & plays on UL fan stupidity); the truth of the matter: ESPN, CBS or whoever has the rights to air championships/major games has spent a lot of money to obtain the rights & they must be able to sell advertising time & have people watch games. UL has one major problem now & forever (especially since Louisville is the 48th largest TV market): TV executives can NOT sell UL to a NATIONAL TV Audience. Why: because no one outside the city limits of Louisville like California, Texas, & NY could care less about UL. UL will NEVER be in a national championship game in football, TV executives will make sure of it.
The ACC won’t be together in its present form very long; UL just joined the new version of the BIG East. Congrats you haven’t accomplished anything even though Jurich propaganda machine plays on your stupidity & you believe him.

Stoops is the best thing to happen to UK FB in many years. He is the exact opposite of Choker in all respects, but we still have a long way to go and it will take a few years to make a difference. Rivals has us currently ranked 56 or so in recruiting and UT in the 30′s or so. Believe it or not Vandy is currently #18 which means in time we should get there as well.

Louisville winning championships? really? Granted, Bridgewater is a heck of a QB and they did beat a thouroughly disinterested Gator squad in a bowl game, but what else they got? Oh yeah! The ACC. By the time the Loserville bunch gets to tobacco road, any worthwhile programs will be. UL entering a new conference is like a hardboiled egg and draght beer fart in an elevator of hot chicks. They clear out conferences faster than a sack full of skunks.

UL is reaching its peak. Cholly knows this. He came back for the money and he knows it is just a matter of time until Florida gets sick of Muchy and comes calling.
Within two years (probably one) Duke and UNC-CH will be members of the SEC. Georgia Tech, Miami, FSU and NC St. will be the Southeastern leg of the Big 12 and Virginia and Notre Dame will be the 15th & 16th members of the B1G. UL will be stuck in a poor (destitute) man’s version of the Big Least and begging the PAC 12 for one of it’s final spots. The BCS will consist of 64 teams in four sixteen-team conferences and Louisville will basically be stuck in the middle with about a dozen other schools somewhere between BCS and FCS.

That 1 4* is about to turn into more. Plus most of Stoops 3* are guys that almost everyone says is under-rated. Parents at Trinity are getting worried what this may mean for their kids. Small things that mostly go un-noticed will be examined under a microscope.

Actually, I keep it simple. I use Nike and a bag man to do my dirty work. Without Wes, I would still be going to NIT’s, like when I was at Memphis (pre wes). Still can’t believe Wes got that retarded kid eligible a few years ago. LOL!!! They actually thought that idiot got an A+ in Alebra 3 before he took Algebra 2. Eric could not even tie his own shoes and will most likely be broke a month after he retires. Glad we paid off those teachers to keep their traps shut.

Actually I’m a Navy Vet. Miss the days of arguing with the Japs. We used to give each other hell about all kind of things. They go after our education system we’d make fun of their obsession with school girls who look 12. It was a lot more then that but I miss it. Oh by the way yes the Navy did pay for my college.

In a couple of years the SEC will say that we can’t play them because they are in so deep with NCAA violations and the SEC will no longer allow it’s members to play against tainted opponents. Even when they get out of trouble it will be that the SEC members can only play BCS conference opponents.

The rashes of re-alignment is to play nice and be fair to everyone. It’s a power and money grab. The bigger schools look at all the money their making and are thinking wouldn’t it be nice to share with 63 other schools instead of 119?
They are whittling things down to 64 teams in four 16-team conferences. Sure, they could go to 18, 20, 24 or 32 team leagues IF they were about being fair. They aren’t. They’re about grouping together the biggest schools with the biggest fanbases and sealing everyone else out. It is mostly about football that is where most of the money is, but its also about the financial clout and number of fans a school brings to the table. I expect the 64 schools to secede from the NCAA and create a new model. They might even make it so their members play only schools from the other conferences as their OoC games (not sure about basketball).
UK is pretty safe because it is The stae school and a large land grant University. It has rabid fans also, but the main thing that insures the well-being of schools like UK and Vandy is the fact that they are long time charter members of their conference.
UL however is squarely on the wrong side of the bubble.

I think the fact that the cats will be the best team on UofL schedule next year speaks volumes. Maybe they can finally win an outright league championship like their coaches spout about instead of splitting it 3 way like Jurich, Ramsey, and the Arena Authority are splitting the mortgage for the cluck bucket.
FYI, Hurtt, will affect the Cards-newsflash who was the lead recruiter for Teddy his junior year before committing to Miami??? Several outlets talked about the Miami bagman who assisted Hurtt bringing Teddy to see Golden right when he was hired, do you think that was the first time???

This Card Nation character is oblivious… Florida is the best? Muschamp will be jobless this time next year and the only reason it didn’t get the axe last year was Urban took a vacation on the recruiting trail and he got a pass. Beating Florida doesn’t compare to UK’s victory of the #1 LSU Tigers and National Champ but sense and birdinal fans are like oil and water.

111 – The school for the blind would have beaten Florida that day. They completely gave you all that game and I don’t think you can count it as a valid win since the only reason you weren’t playing NIU was because UF and FSU played in the regular season. Im sorry but SEC teams dont care about wannabe teams from the Metro conference and that was showcased by how little UF actually tried. Playing UL is Florida’s Toilet Bowl, while getting to that game was your Super Bowl.
Just wait, UL will soon be back where they were during the Ron Cooper and Kragthorpe years….its inevitable.

Wonder what UL’s strength of schedule rated last year. Didn’t deserve to be in that game with Florida. And Florida did what several teams do every year?! Cash in their chips cause they feel slighted. Remember UL using that excuse themselves before?! In some of their more dubious bowl losses. Hurtt isn’t the only problem UL has on the horizon either. There’s a lawsuit filed by a player and family over two brothers on your team jumping one of your own! The your wonderful coach asked the kid to “keep it in house and let him deal with them”. Then he kicks the kid off the team and now UL don’t want to cover medical expenses!? You guys sure know how to keep your coaches in line! What is it with UL coaches? Ya reckon Charlie is tryin to live up to Petino and Petrino’s examples? Good coaches? Yea. Pitiful excuses for human beings? No doubt! I wouldn’t go counting the UK game as a “w” next season. Your team is vastly over-rated, and UK will want that game badly. It won’t be the first game of the season either! And UK won’t play “Florida” for you, they will be invested! They will be jacked up for this game. We’ll see what happens on the field, but I like our chances.

#122…UK was the worse ranked team on our schedule…final rankings UK would have been last in Big East…Can’t say same for UL in SEC final rankings…thanks for playing…Hell UK would have been at bottom of Sunbelt too…

Card fans and their last year and last year. The only thing that matters about last year is who won the Heisman and who won the National Championship. Kentucky will be running an entire new offense, an entirely new defense, will have a much better Str/Con team, fielding a much better trained team, better skill guys, and the one thing that the lack of made Holtz say it cost UK everything a physical team. You all beat a meager, Joker coached (if that word can even be used) team, running a messed up (one that was actually to your advantage) defense, and an out of shape, granny armed, built like an 8th grader, offense that only moved the ball when they didn’t play conservative. This is why Strong wants you to be like us. If Strong does like his poor fan base and game plans for last years team it will end up the biggest upset in the rivalry. A top 5 team getting destroyed by a 2-10 team from a year ago. Guess what though he won’t because unlike you he knows this team will be completely different. If you all had half a brain you would realize you’ll never have a strong enough SOS too make the NC game unless we’re winning in the SEC. You all could be a bottom dweller and a conference schedule alone would get us in. When you move to the ACC that will change. Problem is your going to have to get better to win in the ACC. There middle ground teams are as good as the ones you tied with. If you want to go by last year. Plus you didn’t blowout UF you won by 10.

Naw, if we switched conferences last year, and schedules, UL would have struggled to win 5 games. It’s different when you have to play strong teams week after week. And we woulda been 10-2 and played Florida in the……..oh you know the rest. Nuthin to say about the lawsuit situation huh?

Then all we hear is how hard it is to play one great team after another in the big sleazy. And how UK couldn’t handle that conference? BE teams have won titles since Pitino has been at UL. You all wanna reverse polarity on your arguments from one sport to the next!?!
