  1. Cal's Presser Says:

This tran wreck isn’t my fault. As you know, I am a coaching genius. If these loser players would just listen to me and do what I say, we’d have been undefeated. I also love Archie.

  2. ComeOnFolks Says:

Can we crush this poll. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball

Take a look at the stupid article by Norlander.

  3. Cheif Keef Says:

Can we trade Archie/Alex for Ben McLemore?

  4. Rick312 Says:

If we could take 20% of Archies swag and inject it into Alex they would then both be awesome! smh

  5. ukcatfan36 Says:

How about more playing time for Polson? I think he def. doesn’t hurt us when he’s in there!! Smart player!!

  6. HackRichards Says:

If Jarod Polson had Archie Goodwin’s talent we would be the NUMBER 1 team in America. Period.

  7. the Big Dog Says:

Reasons we lost: missed layups and dunks (reminded me of the Baylor game); missed freethrows (even Wiltjer missed the front end of a one-and-one); coaching- why would you permit Goodwin and Harrow to drive the ball and time after time they would miss badly or get blocked? Once or twice may be the player but 20 times has to be the coach. Why do you not try to get Wiltjer and Mayes more quality looks in the second half? Sure Ala’s defense picked up. So set some screens.

  8. Rae Says:

I had this weird nightmare last night that Cal died in a tragic freak accident. Things couldbe worse people.

  9. Henny81 Says:

Can you please consider giving Ryan Lemons the boot. He is absolutely awful on your show and he brings the show down drastically. He has absolutely no insight on UK basketball or football and he basically repeats Matt the entire time. Whatever he says about the upcomming UK games I cant help but to feel the opposite (ie. the Vandy game). I used to listen to KSR all the time basically because Im in my work vehicle 6 hours a day. I can not stand it when he opens his mouth and Im not sure why you have him on your show. I know he has an audience from his days on chanell 18 but he has no insight on sports, and I’d be willing to bet he has no athletic ability at all. I just thought you should know that myself and many others that I talk to our fed-up with your show simply because he is on it. And the days that he fills in on the Leach report I simply turn my radio station. Please consider going back to the way things were before you had a co-host. You do a great job being the only voice on the show, and again im not sure who thought this was a good idea. Please for the love of God fire that whooped incompetant ignorant troll. There is a reason chanell 18 fired him and its about time you realize the samething.
    Sincerely,
    Big Blue Nation

  10. Jus Sayin Says:

Once again we are over reacting to one game.

We shouldnt run the offense through Wiltjer we tried that the first 8 games. Its idiotic that people are advocating for a shift to a one dimensional that led to us shooting 36 percent in the previous game.

Call me crazy but I dont want our offense to revolve around the whims of guy who we cant leave in on critical defensive posessions.

Wiltjer played well. Why cant that just be it?

  11. Sam Says:

7: The Coach said he told Archie and Harrow to shoot some floaters or mid range shots because they were getting their layups blocked or altered. But they kept driving to the goal anyways.

  12. CatomicBomb Says:

9 – You can’t be serious. Ryan adds a helluva a lot to this show and any others he is on. Pure comedic talent, do you actually think the ratings for the show would be what they are if “everybody feels like you do”? I’m sorry, I didn’t catch which succesful radio shows you host/co-host on??? Ryan is a great addition to these shows, why bash the dude so harshly? Are you mad that you aren’t as succesful? Mad that UK B-Ball is not doing well? Or just an unhappy person all the way around, and will never be satisfied. Ryan is absolute comedy and does one hell of a job as stand in for the shows. Opinions are like A**holes, and boy did you prove that to be true. I usually don’t respond to that crap, but it was totally uncalled for. Good day, sir…. I said GOOD DAY!

  13. CatFan05 Says:

This team is a still a good team. We have all the talent in the world to compete with any team in the country. They all have to click. Will this team ever get to that point? Don’t really know, but I hope they do. Archie needs to calm down, Alex needs to nut up and play like a top player should play. But until that happens, we are in for a short season, and they will have to go pro because they will be sitting on the bench next year when we have the other players coming in. This isn’t Cal’s fault. He is doing his job the best he can. They just got to find a way to click, and thats going to have to come from the players themselves.

  14. Catgirl Says:

#9 I am not a huge fan of Ryan’s either because I agree he does repeat everything Matt says especially on the pregame shows, but your comments are a little too harsh. I like a Matt and Drew Franklin show.

  15. Ben Says:

Why did Cal not take Goodwin and Harrow to the press conference? They are the ones who deserve to take the heat!

  16. Sean Says:

This press conference says one thing to me… Cal has run out of ideas with this team. Maybe its dejection after a loss, but coach seems to be going through the motions in front of the reporters. I wonder if he secretly knows in his heart of hearts that this team doesn’t have “it” and probably never will. It was bound to happen at some point in Cal’s career.

  17. bbr Says:

Sounds to me like Cal does not see the same with Goodwin that the rest of us see – his inability to pass the ball out of the drive to the wing.

  18. Bob Loblaw Says:

Goodwin should have been out there instead of those 2.

  19. donny13 Says:

Lets take some advice from Charles Barkley–none of our guys need to go pro or even think about it!!! The only one close is Nerlens! It gets sickening hearing of all this draft potential and we are not even rated in the top 25 in the country and may not even get in the NCAA tourney! But boy we sure like the ego of having first rounders!!! Terence JOnes, Doron Lamb, and Darius Miller are twice the players at their positions as anyone we have this year and they are in the D-League! Archie has a lot to learn especially shooting free throws. He comes in as the top 2 or 3 guards in the country and barely shoots over 50% at the line. UK’s girls could shoot rings around our guys. Alex-get some heart about basketball. Your going to make a wonderful living someday as a engineer but right now your on UK and BBN’s time so earn your scholarship!! Harrow better find the weight room in the off season or else all these guys except Noel will be handing water to their new teammates during timeouts next year! In closing-come on freshmen-focus on your opportunity at hand-get some balls and make us proud!

  20. whodat Says:

if AG could learn to drive then PASS and ratchet up his D everything else would fall into place on this team but thats a tall order from where he is now. He just doesnt see the floor and doesnt even seem to be able to see the floor ahead of him much less the rest of his team

  21. kingrex Says:

Well lets be honest. Teague,Jones, Lamb, and Cousins, should not have left either. I think my only problem with this system is that it seems to be totally geared towards guys staying one and possibly two years. I think guys are actually embarrassed to stay longer. That cannot be good. I will say again, is it so horrible to be a basketball player at UK that you want to get out so quickly?

  22. kingrex Says:

And I agree with everyone who is questioning what sort of advantage or positive outcome can possibly result from Goodwin driving the lane. He cannot shoot free throws and he never kicks the ball out. He does not have an outside shot and how does he fall down every single time? It felt as though something was going on with Harrow.

  23. kingrex Says:

I think what a lot of people are feeling is a frustration over knowing it is possible in this system that we could end up seeing bad basketball from a couple of guys their freshman year and then they might get taken in the NBA draft anyway. It means we will not see guys grow and mature and enjoy over a few seasons (Miller, Jorts, Patterson)

  24. fatcat Says:

Noel derserves to go pro! Goodwin and poythress i hope some nba team is stupid enough to take them. let them grow in the nba.
