No one talk bad about Cal tonight. Matt will shut you off and make you the focus of the show tomorrow.

Archie Goodwin reminds me of Steve Nash with the way he is always trying to get his team involved with his unselfish play and pass first attitude. What a team player!!
January 22nd, 2013 at 11:59 pm
The best thing Cal could do is sit Archie. Get him a jersey without “Kentucky” across the chest and make him sit the entire game. Make him earn his playing time (in practice) one letter at a time.

It’s about time they started deleting your drivel and waste of space oldtool…
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:01 am
3 – In order for Cal to use the bench as motivation – he first has to have a bench. He’s got eight scholarship players and the rest are walkons.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:02 am
If Matt doesn’t mention the coaching discrepancy he does not know basketball. I love cal but he got abused by Anthony grant
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:03 am
The good news is we play a middle school girls’s team saturday. That should improve the RPI. Since LSU sucks something awful, Cal should grow a set and bench a couple of players. But he won’t.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:05 am
How does wiltjer play so go in the first half and then they won’t even pass him the ball in the second. Goodwin has talent but his decision making might be the worst I’ve ever seen everybody played good except him. If he sits the entire game we win by 20.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:06 am
I should have gone to Georgetown!
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:09 am
all the bad comments, this season aint over just yet boys ….
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:09 am
Cal cant go on the court pass the ball to wiltjer. He is screaming at Goodwin to pass the ball and he won’t. So he sits him down and screams at him to pass the ball. After a minute or two he puts him back in and the same thing happens. He has to play him he has no other option but he is killing us.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:09 am
Cal said in postgame that if the players don’t buy in to what they are supposed to do then there will be more games like this. Cal, it is the job of you and your coaching staff to get them to buy in. If you can’t recruit heart, desire, will to win etc. then this is what you are going to get. This team is getting close to not even being eligible for post season tourney time and we have many more losses coming. You still need to put your boot up AP’s posterior and put a straight jacket on AG.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:12 am
If people think we wont make tourney can someone explain why we have to play Goodwin all the time..Why cant he sit I dont understand that
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:12 am
I like what 2. and 3. said.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:12 am
Cal less is more…..less Archie more chance to win!
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:12 am
Dickie v is hating on us right now on twitter! He is a hater.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:12 am
I believe that where this team has come up short is in the expectations Coach Cal had for Goodwin and Poythress. Bottom line is they aren’t producing.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:12 am
Archie definitely did not need to throw up the sloppy shots, but this is not all his fault. I think a lot of of the fault falls on Cal and the fact that he swayed from how we were playing in the first half. He wanted his guards to drive into the lane when they did not need to (all the time), but really our bigger guys were doing great. Nerlens did not always produce offense, but he was creating more opportunities than the guards were doing. The referees were bogus, but we can not blame them at all.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:13 am
The coaching comments are a little harsh. I have been a varsity coach for 16 years. I have a 700 win percentage. At the end of the day the players have to play the game. Archie has a parent or cousin or agent or somebody in his ear telling him his draft stock is dropping and he has to shoot every time he touches it and it is killing this team.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:16 am
If Lamb and Teague are still at UK we are not having these type of comments……..
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:17 am
I just dont see where archie is ready for the nba! He better buy in to cal’s system or he should be benched! Nba teams would be nuts to draft him especially a lottery pick???
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:18 am
I love Cal theres no coach id rather have currently , but u have to be dim-witted to think Great Coaches cant be out-coached..They can be and Cal was out-coached tonight..If u dont see that then u are just tying to play that old BS game -Make the UK fans look totally insane.. Hes the coach i want above all others but he was bested tonight by Anthony Grant just accept it… Not pulling Goodwin near the end alone earns him that!!
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:19 am
All the negative coaching comments are going to to one thing. They are going to make a GREAT coaching staff throw their hands up and say ” there is no pleasing these people here let’s take our top recruiting classes somewhere else”. Is that what y’all want. Do you want tubby or billy back. When you have two players, one you can’t get to speed up and the other you can’t get to slow down and you can’t sit both of them. You have to do the best with what you have and this staff has done a great job of it.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:21 am
Matt, quit letting john short predict these games. He is killing us. Bad karma for some reason.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:22 am
Will some of you idiots please stop defending Poythress with statements that he is young and still a freshman. He has all the god given talent and body in the world but is missing guts, heart, desire, and the will to be the best that he can be. He does not deserve to be wearing the uniform and Goodwin continues to be the out of control freight train that is not far behind Poythress.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:22 am
We were ranked #3 preseason.. even if that was way off someone needs to take the blame other then freshmen players..
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:26 am
Everybody keeps talking about how some of these guys shouldn’t go to the NBA. Are u crazy you don’t even want poythress or Goodwin in your locker room. I’m sure they are good kids but they kill your team.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:26 am
If the coaching staff leaves cause of the comments a fan writes after a really bad loss ..Then maybe we overestimated them ..its amazing the negative ppl on here never look so bad cause we have so may apologists to off set them lol #23
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:28 am
Mike. Your correct. Freshman ain’t got nothing to do with you effort and heart.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:35 am
25. When you were 18 did you give all-out effort in everything you did? Did you have it all figured out then? I think a lot of you are forgetting what it was like to be 18.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:36 am
Matt I seen this for years refs take over
Games .and when it’s started early
Second half I knew the game was
Over .last trip to Alabama same
Thing .worst refs I’ve seen all

But I just can’t blame the players
Refs were awful .this game wasn’t
Bout the players it was the refs.
I thought the players done pretty
Darn good .i can’t understand you
Always putting down these players
We’re you on the dream team?
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:51 am
Matt, I’m a student at UK…your point earlier about the lottery was wrong. I’ve bought tickets the morning after the lotto several times because they didn’t sell them all. I was there tonight and it was packed to the rafters as usual.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:54 am
WOOOOOSH. That’s the sound of the of this season getting flushed down the crapper.
January 23rd, 2013 at 12:55 am

Al on jersey it’s not football.you should beat the
The team up Matt do you use glasses
If so get some .it happens every time
At Alabama Tennessee ole miss

Player heckler he does such a great
Job
January 23rd, 2013 at 1:40 am
Something I have been thinking about ….. Why is it they have to leave after one year? What is the point? It is not as though if they truly are any good that they will not get paid appropriately for their time in the NBA. Wall is one of the few who had to leave early because we were hiding his bad knees and he needed to get out and signed as soon as possible before anyone else picked up on it. The rest? There is absolutely no reason for them to be rushing out to the NBA. Again what is the point? Is being in college just such a horrible, painful experience that they cannot tolerate it beyond 9 months? Besides, the toll the NBA takes on your body means getting there at 19 only means you are taking years off of your professional career on the other side. It means you will be substitute teaching by age 30 instead of 36. Again, what is the point on rushing out to the NBA? Having fun in the D-League?
